you can tell he tried not to sound "morally superior" when talking about living more sustainably and engaging less in the consumerism culture, instead he just said "it fits what I wanted". this is a really cool tour, thanks for documenting it.

Cool! I lived in SZ between 2013-2017 and actually coached basketball in Baoan my first year there, with five star sports (I lived in Shekou). Also I'm vegetarian and play guitar. Lol. This is like me 7 years ago.
guy is really chill. he made a good cave, with the basics. I was worried about having so small fridge but I guess it can be okay for one person. balcony is a true beauty and can host friends and chill time with himself. peace and harmony
Vertical gardening would work well on the balcony. All the greens you can imagine in one tower. ❤️ You can gather the dead leaves and put them in a bucket. Fill the bucket with water and let the leaves sit in the water for a few days. The stinky water is great plant food.
The balcony is very big for such an insanely small apt, but it's still just a balcony. It's not like some large extra living space. Give me a larger apt any day.
Great apartment, great video, thank you for showing us your lovely home. May I make a suggestion? It's something I learnt in the province of Yunnan, at the country side. The best and safest way of using the mosquito coil metal device is just to put the coil horizontally and flat on the metal device But previously, you'll have to rise each one of its "teeth" and put them in a vertical position. Thus when you lay the mosquito coil on it, there'll will be a space between it and the metal device 'floor" for air to circulate in between them. This is very wise and how people use these mosquito coil devices at the country side in Yunnan and Guangxi
Hey girl! Nice apartment! A lot of people seem to be coming to my apartment tour from this video haha... so I figured I would watch your video, of course! Really liked it!! And I have just subscribed to your channel! Hope you are having an amazing day! ♥︎
I live near the factories right above Baoan, near Xili (Still Nanshan area).. Finding a place like that is quite rare! And the thought of buying an appartment in SZ is so depressing.. Castle in Europe or 70m2 apartment in SZ..
Not only is your friend such a humble human, but I'd really like to meet him and more similar people through my life. If you're finding yourself in this comment and live near Düsseldorf, Germany, hit me up with a reply :')
If it's good enough for him, that's what matters. I wouldn't give up my three bedroom townhouse for that, though. I have a sunroom and a partially finished basement, a very safe neighborhood, and it didn't drive me nuts during lockdown because the space allowed me to move around (I noticed that this video was in 2020).
Thankyou for sharing your apartment and garden. You might like to grow a vertical garden . That would be easy to do and provide a lot more food. What a wonderful view. You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. Greetings from Australia. 🌈 🦜🐨🥦
I just moved back to the US from Shenzhen last month. I also lived in Bao’an (though I was quite close to Bao’an Center, and he seems to be way far off on the line 11 😅) His apartment is way cuter and more aesthetically pleasing than mine was, it makes me wish I was still in China 🥺

What a chill dude. His balcony looks very lovely with all those plants, and he's right, that view is definitely worth the small space.
The balcony is really nice. He made it nicer.
he definitely knows how to live his life

love the balcony!
it's awesome! and the view, ahhh!
Jacob is very health conscious! That's great!
very nice flat and he is good at building lots of things by himself.
Whoa. That's amazing. Thanks for sharing.
That outdoor space is magical / sacred
What a nice guy, and love the patio.

Loved the place and the view. And... vegan people are the best!
It fine compared to NY and other countries tiny expensive living like Paris. This is good the other places like NY are inhumane.

Amazing ! I was living in Nanshan. I really like your balcony. I think it’s enough place for everything.
What a handsome guy! Love his life style 💋💝
Interesting video, quite useful too, thanks for sharing.
this guy is a legend
gotta love Wim Hof!!
If he raises his bed higher, he can have storage space in the bottom.
Isn't the guitar song that plays around the 8min mark "Wrong Turn" by Jack Johnson?

Ah your friend is a Vegan! Same as me ☺️
its so hard to be vegan in China, lol.
Lockdown must have been rough though
Did he ever cover utilities how much they cost I kinda skipped around 😂
That’s a very nice terrasse
SZ property price is insane! I wouldn't live here if I have more choices.
the balcony is bigger than the apartment
Wow, which part of Bao’an is this?
cant remember but its by a big park!
Hey, this is a great video. I live in Shenzhen too and Jakob seems like we have a lot of common interests XD You guys wanna meetup? Hahahha
Cool 😎
下次去香港拍摄公寓🤗
Is Jakob Danish? Im Danish and his accent is really similar to mine!
bingo! haha
Plant marigolds. They help with mosquitoes.
I want to know where he bought the water distillation???
I think taobao...
where is he from! he sounds like my danish friend
denmark :) you got it right

500 is so reasonable! And that apartment is so nice. it is fully furnished for only 3,500 RMB?
i think it came with the bed!
You'd have to be insane to pay that much for THAT small of an apartment in China... I'd rather go live out in the woods.

haha yes
its definitely not tibetan script for sure... you got robbed... hahaha

But that writing is not Tibetan obviously. Tibetan writing looks pretty much like Arabic.
Weird description but it looks more like Hindi
