    Great video! Lots of good information in here for those who have never use PDF plotting and those who (like me) need a refresher! 😉 Also, here’s a tip in printing sizes. If you have Acrobat for pdf on your computer and your pattern says you can print “layers”, you can select the size (or sizes) that you want to print. Then instead of sending them to your printer, select print as PDF. Upload this file to PDF plotting and you will have the size(s) that you want them to have for printing! I hope that makes sense and it helps!🤗

      Oh Myra THANK YOU! You know, I thought about that, but I had never tried it before so I was hesitant to share that. AWESOME AWESOME, I'm going to pin your comment to the top as this is SUPER HELPFUL!!

    I am using this as a hand-holder as I attempt to order from PDF Printing for the first time. I have watched your video before but I kept chickening out. I have a harrdddddd time convincing myself to paste patterns together. I do it but not gleefully...smile.
    If this works, I will do a happy dance!

    Thank you, thank you! You are the best teacher. I am 72, never bought a pdf pattern in my life AND I have NO computer right now. I do have an IPad and use it for most internet applications. I’m calling “pdf plotting” to see if I can get some patterns printed. I want to particularly print off the “Namaste pjs” from Love Notions and I would love to try the beautiful knit dress you made from Cashmerette.

    I want to thank you for this video; I completed by first order with "Pdf Plotting" today and it was all because of you. I had your video tutorial open and used it side by side with the "Pdf Plotting" website. Had it not been for you, my pdf patterns would have sat in my computer unused forever! I am very new to sewing and was too intimidated by the whole process. Thank you so much for your informative tutorial and your sweet, beautiful demeanor. You are an angel.

    I’m so grateful for this information. I’m up to over $20 a month for ink for 700 pages and then exceeding those pages. I’m ready to be over printing. And I’m with you on taping. I don’t like it nor do I want to spend the time taping and printing. Great, information just as usual. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

    Karina and Myra both mention you in their videos, so I came to "check it out". Great info. Believe it or not, I have not been aware of PDF patterns until recently when I watched TomKat Stitchery. Silhouette Patterns and TomKat Stitchery were the only sewing vlogs I watched. I have since added you, Karina, and Myra. Thank you. Also, thank you for showing this. I appreciate the little tips and tricks.

    Thank you so much. I have pdfs but had not yet figured it out to something irl.
    Ever ran into an issue with the 1 inch test block not being an inch? Not a concern?
    Rabbit trail thought....have (or would) you done a basic purse hardware n terms type video? I keep looking for the perfect pattern to start my journey in that style sewing. Alas, there is no perf pattern. I also realized in my last serious hunt that i lack basic knowledge. I know D rings via belts but...uh...thank you for all you do for and with us.

    • @SewNaturalDane
      @SewNaturalDane  4 года назад +2

      No problem Marsha. To answer your question, nope not problem with the test block not being an inch. I have not done a purse hardware in terms of type video, I'll definitely consider it. However, I did do sewalong for a purse that is free if you want to start with something like that. That video is here: ruclips.net/video/Yvh9mCLVW34/видео.html

    Hi, I hoped you would also cover the size of the copy shop pattern. I’ve ordered 3 different times from this outstanding company, and twice I’ve been caught with even though it says copy shop, it’s not US copy shop and was a different size than expected. You did briefly show the size of your file by hovering over the lower right side, and you can also change it to show all the time in Preferences in Adobe Reader. This wonderful company reached out, explained my error, and sent me a Paypal invoice 2 times because I was over $20 wrong. Copyshop does not always mean what it says. I ordered from a wide variety of companies, US and abroad, and printed one or two from each to try them out, but really missed the size difference, by quite a bit. Regular US copyshop is 36 x 48. I had a file, for example, that was 36x75 and still called copyshop. I don’t remember the company butthis is pretty vital to the order. Could be you were familiar with the brands you were printing and knew it was ok, I’ve just come back to sewing, so still learning PDF printing, but kinda the hard wya, when I learned it is t always what it says it is. Fortunately we have the awesome people at PDF plotting to send us nice explanatory emails, and I printed it out so next time I don’t get ‘corrected’.

    • @SewNaturalDane
      @SewNaturalDane  4 года назад

      Yep, that's what happened to me when I ordered a pattern and didn't pay attention that it was the "normal" US Copy Shop size. I agree the customer service as PDF Plotting is really good. Thanks so much for watching.

    Are there any other companies to consider?

    • @SewNaturalDane
      @SewNaturalDane  4 года назад

      In the US? Not other than your local printing shops and I'm not familiar enough with other companies to recommend any one else. I've been very successful in using PDF Plotting with no issues and they have great customer service if you get stuck.

    Hi, I have a question, where do you store your pdf file before you send to the printing company, I have know idea what I’m doing. I downloaded Adobe free but I think I need to pay for subscription, help please

    • @SewNaturalDane
      @SewNaturalDane  4 года назад +1

      Hi Debbie, well the pdf file you receive when you purchase the pattern you can store on a USB drive (I store mine this way). Now that you have the Adobe Reader free version, you should be able to open the pdf file that was sent to you with no problem. Then follow the steps in the video and you should be good to go. Hope that helps and thanks so much for watching.
