Yes to all of this. I've been on a low dose of benzos for my severe anxiety for years and if I forget to refill my prescription on time I have severe mood swings, nausea, chills, suicide ideation, etc. Can't imagine how bad it could have been for her if she stopped cold turkey.
As absolutely HORRIFIC as NINETY TWO times is, and it is! Over a period of ten years like that he would have likely dosed her less than once a month like that. So hopefully she didn't have to face all that too. At least that is my hope. But he was giving her such high does when he did that it's damn lucky he didn't kill her. Looks to me from what she typed that he was saving his meds up and giving her high high doses on nights that he did this to knock her out. At her age I'm just blown away by her strength. Physically and mentally. She is definitely a hero to those of us who have gone through anything like this.

Then the investigation started and in France, no one could talk about it until the trial began. Meanwhile, she was accused of being complicit (and all sorts of horrendous claims) and trying to falsely accuse innocent men. It was awful for her, she had to move from her home and hide in a remote village. She's indeed heroic.
As an American victim of spousal chemical submission, this trial is difficult but brings hope to others. May the search for justice continue to gain ground!

Yes, I would have worried about her dying just from the meds. I've taken lorazepam for a short time and I found it to be scary, the way it suppressed my respiratory system. I felt like a zombie and that was on a very small dose.

Her case breaks my heart because it hits so close to home. I was being drugged and abused as a teenager by my father. I could only remember brief moments of waking in terror during the night and quickly blacking back out. But I would be horribly sore in my private areas at different times and struggled with female health issues I shouldn't have had as a homeschooling virgin. I was sleeping all day and very out of it and still have very little memories of anything that happened during those years

The other thing is that drugging her to that extent for 9 years could very easily have caused dementia, addiction or brain injury. This is beyond horrible.

Clearly this lady isn’t lying or anything, I’m just shocked anti anxiety meds can make someone that unconscious over 60+ times for 6+ hours at a time sometimes, dressing/undressing her and she knew absolutely nothing. Horrific crime, I just cannot wrap my head around how this worked so many times and for so long. I think it’s safe to say she will never trust another human again, understandably so. This story is wild.
Ambien could easily make it seem like a person is consenting but the next morning they could have zero recollection

I was on Xanax for years. It was hard to get off and it took me years to get my memory back. Lorazepam is the same type of drug. I understand why she thought she was getting alzheimers. This is so tragic. Did she ever really know her husband? I think not.
