Building the perfect 3-watch collection for under $5000 is such a great topic. And the question of how to build that watch collection is one that has so many different answers. For me, the best and most ideal 3-watch collection is one that gives you incredible range and versatility throughout a variety situations, which is why my criteria included having an "everyday" watch, a sport watch, and a dress watch. I didn't want to give you just one option, however, so I put together two different 3-watch collections--both for under $5000. Enjoy!
COLLECTION NO. 1
▪ Seiko SARB033 → bit.ly/3qLD7BU
▪ Tudor Heritage Black Bay → bit.ly/2KfgVQ4
▪ Vintage Omega Seamaster → bit.ly/342SH2B
COLLECTION NO. 2
▪ Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical → bit.ly/3oHUpy9
▪ Omega Speedmaster Reduced → bit.ly/3m6d7xO
▪ Cartier Tank Solo → bit.ly/3a8FJUu

I'd love to see this mini-series continue for different price points like 3 watches for $10,000 and so on...
Agree
Even expand to liquors, red wines, shoes, sunglasses, whatever!
Totally planning on it. We have a few more in the queue at the moment.
Maybe start at $1000...
@@ajiebkp given the criteria here is luxury watches, unfortunately you won't find 3 luxury watches for under $1k
Tudor for the win! :) Love my Black Bay 58
Seiko & Tissot watches are also great watches and way cheaper than other brands and looks as good as the expensive watches. 🙃
@@onurjunior6578 Tissot is fantastic. But collectors can’t get over the quartz movements.
Tudor wins always! Glad you have one!
I love mine as well and curious to know why he didn't choose the bb58 and instead the 41mm original heritage blackbay. I think you can't even find these on the used market let alone in the AD.
Cheers, Antonio!
For those who don't want the bother of a vintage piece, I'd recommend the Longines Conquest Heritage 35mm instead of the vintage Omega.
Thanks for the rec, Sebb!
Great video! I'd go with...
Sinn 104 - Everyday watch ($1300)
Oris Aquis Date Relief (My actual watch) - Sport watch ($1800)
Frederique Constant Healey Chronograph - Dress watch ($1500)
The sarb033 is my everyday watch and is amazing. Understated, lovely details, good price. You cannot go wrong with it. I got it before the price skyrocketed fortunately.
That's awesome. Congrats! A beautiful watch.
It is a real beauty. Bought an alphanist as my first watch about three years ago and absolutely love it. I have to get the sarb033 aswell now, such a versatile watch.
I have the SARB035 on a jubilee and fluted bezel and absolutely love it. Can’t go wrong with either of the two.
So far this is the best 3 watch collection video that I've seen. Great Choices!
Use Tudor BB58 as my daily. Totally love it! Very wearable due to smaller 39mm case, the only watch you need!
Great Watch! Congrats!
Nice!
Preowned:
BB58 $2900, Nomos Orion $1500, Sarb033 $600.
With a little bit of shopping around you can find these prices.
Absolutely love these more classic-sized watch collections. Looking forward to other price ranges.
More to come! And thanks!
I love the watch selection. Elegant and not flashy. Love how your channel places an emphasis on style and not fashion. I can watch your older videos from several years ago and it is still very relevant today.
Thank you so much!
You can't go wrong with either collection! A little bit more than $5k, but DateJust 1601/1603 ($3k), Longines Legend ($1.2k), Baltic Aquascaphe GMT ($1.1k).
This is a perfect video. Chrono 24 is awesome, and they feed my obsession.
I wish I had bought the SARB033 back a few years ago when you could get it for under $500. Great video as always sir!
You and me both!
I use my SARB 033 as my everyday. Love it! Great style!
Right on!
Collection 1 is a good one!
Here is mine:
Everyday: vintage datejust (1601/1603...)
Sport: Seiko Skx007
Dress: Nomos tangente
Alternative:
Everyday: Nomos club
Sport: Skx 009
Dress: reverso medium classic
Nice! Great choices!
While the used path gets you good bang for the buck, the new watches route can be just as good. Before some of these used watches reach vintage and desirable status, someone has to purchase them new first. Owning a vintage watch is not for people new to watches since servicing can be problematic for some models. Plus, you don't want to be seen as stuck in time (yes, pun intended).
Here's my suggested 3-watch collection that does not go for the famous big expensive brand names (like Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Cartier):
> Daily watch: Seiko Presage SPB169 - Green textured dial and gold seconds hand give a great contrast. Finishing that rivals brands asking for more.
> Sports watch: Oris Aquis Date (39.5mm/Steel Bracelet) - Size is closer to the vintage Tudor Black Bay but has a modern look. There are various coloured dial-and-bezel combinations as well.
> Dress watch: Nomos Orion Reference 301 (35mm) - Timeless design and in a size and format befitting a dress watch.
Nomos Club Sport - Everyday/Business
Cartier Tank Solo - Business/Dress
Seiko SKX007 - Sport/Fun
Great collection!
Thank you sir. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. 🎄
Thanks, Ron! Same to you and yours.
Gosh darn your style and taste aligns with what I’ve been looking for in mentor!
Wow that Sarb look like millions bucks! Amazing content and quality video!!!
Thanks a ton!
Interesting collection. Enjoyed it. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
Been waiting for this video!! Great choices Brian. Would love to see another one at 10k or even 20k range. Merry Christmas 🎄
Planning on it!
Dear Brian happy holidays to you and your loved ones! Salutations from Greece!
Thank you, Alex. And same to you.
Just picked up my first watch in what will be my 3 watch collection. Went with the Hamilton Khaki 42mm auto and absolutely love it so far. Sport watch is next up. Had my eye on Tudor, Oris, Longines, and Alpina. All four offer some solid watches for under 3k. Great video!
I was watching Teddy's Best Watches Under series and this is the perfect follow up!
Sweet.
Well I guess it's time to rework my watch collection. I definitely need to look out for the vintage omega seamaster watch. Looks lovely and would complement my style. Thank you again for this awesome content. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Brian.
A great choice at a great price. Thanks for the good wishes and same to you.
I like the second line up, especially the Tank for the dress watch. And i would definitely wear a dress watch with a tuxedo...
Thanks for sharing!!
I like both collections. Great picks all around
Collection #2 for the win, even at a slightly higher overall price point. I'm happy you did this exercise - thank you; and wouldn't mind seeing one of these each quarter with maybe some more specific themes/guidelines (e.g., golds, antique look, sports).
Planning on it! Going to start with different price points.
Really appreciate you. Just revamped my entire wardrobe influenced by your knowledge and advice.
Man, that makes me so happy to hear! Congrats and hope you love it.
@@hespokestyle I do, Sir. Keep up your content as long as you stay passionate about it. God Bless, Brian.
I have the Tudor and a SARB035. But my current favorite is my aqua terra.
Good one brian! I love the cartier pasha! Very masculine classic watch.
Classic
Wow! A vintage Omega Seamaster, silver with date window, has been my grail watch. Great choice.
I might get that seiko sarb, beautiful watch!
Wow! Quite surprised that the vintage omega isn’t more expensive. Such an elegant watch 👍
Right?!
What a great selection- or two!
Very good choices. You can’t go wrong with either one.
I guessed two watches in your second selection! That freaked me out. 😁
Cheers 🥂
Sweet! Thanks, Farshid!
Can’t go wrong with option 2! I have all 3 mentioned (except I have the speedmaster pro) and it’s definitely a versatile 3 watch collection.
That's awesome, Juan!
Thanks merry Christmas and happy new year please what your opinion on VC dual time blue and many thanks for nice efforts ✌️
I love my SARB035 (cream dial version), great picks!
IMO, the 39mm BB58 is a much better option than the larger 41mm BB you featured. Cheaper in price, smaller in diameter, thinner overall which will fit a larger variety of wrist sizes. And frankly, it looks better than the 41mm version too.
Thanks for chiming in!
great choices! I like that there is at least one "real" watch in both collections along with the everyday value watches. Although i'd probably wear the speedmaster almost all the time!
I wear mine a lot these days.
Perfect timing ...love from Nepal!!!!
Great! Hello!
Great video! I've always thought this was the perfect way to built a perfect minimalist collection.
I wear an air king as everyday watch and a vintage omega constellation as dress watch. I sold my skx so I have to replace the sport one...speedy reduced is my choice too!
Thanks for sharing!
Great video!
Thank you so much for the informations !! what about Seiko SARB035 CREAM DIAL AUTOMATIC ? is it worth it ? Thank you
I love your videos about watches.
An Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, a Cartier Tank solo, and an inexpensive Swatch Skin Irony would be a perfect choice in my opinion.
Thanks for chiming in!
Can’t wait to start my watch collection journey 🙇♂️
Best of luck!
I got my Seiko SARB035 for 350, I love it, beautiful dial and i wear it everyday!
My "around 5k" watch collection:
Dress: Longines Flagship Heritage
Sport: Oris Aquis Date 41.5mm
Everyday: Stowa Flieger Classic 40mm
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!
Been thinking for a while to grab BB58 or Rolex AirKing 5500 as my wrist is quite small 6”. But I felt in love with Grand Seiko SBGA413.
Nice!
That Cartier is a winner all day man . Simple and elegant can’t beat that. Great vid as always 👌
No doubt!
I definitely like the watches you have selected in your two scenarios. My personal presences are more aligned with those watches identified in Scenario # 1. Having said that, I do enjoy the look of the Cartier you chose as a dress watch in Scenario # 2. The Cartier reminds me of a Seiko watch I purchased for my girlfriend, (now wife), circa late 1970’s. I have many fine memories of that watch. I’m drawn to the watches in Scenario # 1, primarily because of the inclusion of the Tudor. Anyway, great job. I hope that you and your wife have a Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Safe, Joyous and Prosperous 2021!...Ed
Thanks so much for the comment. And same to you and yours.
My 3 watches:
Everyday-Seiko Pogue ~$1k
Sport-Omega Seamaster Apnea ~$3k
Dress-Hamilton Ventura ~$1k
Great choices. Thanks so much for sharing!
Cannot wait to watch this Brian! A bit out of the blue but what are your thoughts on Panerai? Been a long time viewer of HSS but don't recall you ever talking about this brand. All the best
Thanks, Gregg. Panerai really isn't my style.
Great video. Thanks, Brian.
Very welcome. Hope you liked the Polaris!
@@hespokestyle It's a very nice watch. Still on the hunt, though!
Seiko Seiko and whatever sport watch I'm using at the time maybe a TomTom
Both collections are absolutely tasty!!
Thanks, Marco!
Good reccomendations man.
Glad you think so!
Love the SARB
Such a cool piece.
Also if you want to remain under 5000 dollars and still get a Cartier Tank, you can consider th Must de Cartier Tank. A vintage manually wound Tank that shares almost every details from the original Tank but is made in Vermeil (gold plated silver). An awesome little thing, way cheaper than the solid gold Tank :-)
Great recommendation
wow ! thank you !! btw where did you buy your board print behind you please ? thanks
Thanks. It's a canvas of our own photos.
@@hespokestyle i love it !! thank you (:
I LOVE my Seiko Sarb! It's easily my favorite (and most valuable) watch. I'd LOVE to drop $5000 on a few watches, though.
You and me both!
Tissot Gentlemen: Everyday
Tudor GMT: Sport
Frederique Constant Carree Men's FC-303MC4C26: Dress
Thanks for sharing, Kyle!
I have a 5K collection in my collection of three pre owned Omegas: as already mentioned here the first one is the Speedy Reduced or I would call it Speedmaster Automatic (I think their marketing manager back than was more a technician than a sales guy :) than I have the first Bond era Seamaster Professional in 41mm and a second generation Aqua Terra with a white dial in quartz. My second choice also from my collection would be the Longines HydroConquest Automatic new generation, again the Speedy for everyday purposes and a Frederique Constant Automatic dress piece.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing, Harun.
the Tudor black bay is a must have
It's a nice watch.
the Filter mechanism is ment to reduce time ?
i find myself browsing Chrono24 for hours daily, the filter a nice system to spend more time seeking out grails
Does anyone happen to know the specific reference number on the vintage Omega Seamaster shown on the thumbnail? Thanks in advance!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@hespokestyle Thanks man. I love my collection from Oriënt, Seiko to Rolex and Omega. What a great hobby
Black bay 58 £2,500
Hamilton chronograph £1500
Oris big crown £1000
Thanks for chiming in!
- cartier tank solo ~ 2k
- tudor black bay 36 in blue dial ~ 2k
- oris pointer date in black dial ~ 1k
My 3: Tudor GMT, Tudor Style 41mm Fluted Bezel, Tissot T-touch II Titanium (this is only 73grams with nato. (I’m 51yo and the fluted bezel defined success to me when I started noticing watches in the 80’s. )
Nice! Loved both of them. If I were to build a 5000$ 3 watch collection around my Cartier Cle (~4k used), then I would add a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba (~800) and lastly a Casio or a Swatch of choosing with the last 200$!
*edit* What I really want to do is a 3-jewellery brand collection though: Bulgari Octo Finissimo, Tiffany Maker 1837, and a Cartier! - Han
Nice, Han!
I'd switch the Sarb for a King Seiko, get the Black Bay 58 in blue instead and stick with the vintage Seamaster. That's pretty much my "collection", exept that I don't own a Black Bay... yet.
You made some great picks IMO!
Thanks so much, Björn!
Mine would be: Tudor Black Bay 36 in black (2000 Euro used), Vintage Rolex Oyster (2500 Euro), Junghans Max Bill manual wind (500 Euro).
Nice! Great collection!
Any nomos that you like, a black bay 58, and then a strap or bracelet for the black bay.
That was just an idea.
Good one!
You chose literally what I had in mine
I'd choose ... Longines spirit black dial, Formex Essence 39mm green dial and Damasko DA38
Seiko Sharp Edge Blue Dial. Dressy, but still sporty.
Oris Divers 65 40mm. Sport.
Tissot Gentleman. Everyday.
And plenty of change.
Thanks for chiming in, Matt!
I'd upgrade the speedy reduced to the 3539 for sapphire crystal at $2700, sub out the Khaki field for a G-shock and pray for the Cartier😂
LOL
JLC Reverso
...and a nice bottle of Japanese whiskey :)
Hahahaha. What would you choose?
@@hespokestyle If I got a killer deal on the Reverso...Yamazki 18
Oris big crown day date, Sinn 857 and Christopher Ward c65 white dial
I would choose the following:
1. Sport: Oris Diver 65 36mm Blue Dial on Stainless Steel Bracelet
2. Everyday: Tudor Blackbay 36 - 36mm Black Dial on Stainless Bracelet
3. Dress: Timex Marlin 34mm with champagne dial
Everyday: Seiko 5
Sport: Tudor Black Bay 58,
Dress: Cartier Tank Quartz or Longines Dolce Vita.
One watch collection: Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm.
Can you do a video on how you got the lange 1, how much you got for it and what made you get it? Great video again
Wish I had a Lange 1!
Oh my bad, I meant to say your a Lange sohne datograph, if you could do a video on that one?
This is a good video, but honestly I don't even know where to start when it comes to watches. How about a video about knowing what to look for when purchasing a watch - something for those of us just learning about watches? In any case, thanks, as always Brian. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Check out the playlist I have called that very thing! Maybe some info there that would help you out. If not, please come back here and suggest some topics for the future.
@@hespokestyle Thanks Brian. I guess I'm talking basics here: How can I tell if I'm getting a good value for the price? What are the advantages/disadvantages of the different movement types? What should I look for or avoid when buying a watch? Topics like that would be helpful for us newbies lol.
Here is my (dream) watch set :
Dress watch - JLC Reverso Duo minute repeater
Sports watch - Omega Speedmaster 39mm
Everyday watch - Rolex Date Just 36mm jubilee dented crown (steel and gold)
Nice!
The gent. from Del Ray watches recommend a list of watch brands everyone should experience & your selection covers most of them. I applaud your taste, Sir.
How would you differentiate between when you would where a sports watch vs everyday?
Just depends on the outfit.
Nomos tangente 38, Doxa sub 300T, and the Hamilton khaki field mechanical!
Everyday: Hamilton Khaki Mechanical
Sport: Orient Ray II
Dress: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra
Can you do a video about the best brands for people on a lower budget, like teens
Nice suggestion. It could also be 2 watches collection by ditching either Seiko or Tudor.
Excellent picks. However, to me it makes more sense to put the lion share of the budget on the daily watch. The one you will wear the most.
Greetings from Europe by the way, like your work. For an American you are a very stylish man
Hey, thanks!
Great choices, though I like the first collection more. I do think however that a little color is missing - either a gold dress watch - or even a "gold colored" watch as a gold watch would probably be too expensive (I'm thinking Frederique Constant in this price range) - would take the whole ensamble up a level IMHO. But that might just be my own taste :)
Thanks for sharing!!
For this three watch collection for $5K I'd buy an Omega Speedmaster ... there done!!
Haha. Cheers.
buy it used and you might just have enough for a brosnan era seamaster in quartz for swimming.
Black Bay and use the rest of the budget for a nice bottle of Scotch 👍
I like it!
It’s pretty easy for me.
The Seamaster from casino Royale, believe it’s a 300M
Seiko Presage
Apple watch SE lte for being connected without a phone.
Thanks for chiming in, Arvid!
Yema Superman Heritage is a very good choice for sport watch
Hard to argue with the Omega and the Tank in collection #2 but lack of dial color variations and interesting case backs make both collections a bit snoozy. Lots of interesting, good quality microbrands out there to choose from that would add some interesting contrast to core selections.
For me, color doesn't equal versatility.
I would spend 5k on the following. Using retail price since I'm not a fan of pre-owned. So many luxury watches sellers not including Box and papers
1. SPORT-hamilton Intra-matic auto chrono: 2245
2. EVERYDAY- Tissot power matic 80: 775
3. DRESS- longines flagship(black dial) : 1850
Have 130 left over for dinner and few drinks haha
Nice!
