Great hint about checking the under sides of leaves, will be adding this to my repertoire, thanks. I also appreciated the rationale behind cutting the plants way back so they don’t waste energy on growth. Makes perfect sense once explained. Thanks for another great video in this series!
I overwinter my scented pelargoniums as houseplants. South-facing windowsill, cut down to a few leaf nodes, bone dry sterile compost (else I get white or green fly), they stay in leaf and flower over the winter. Unfortunately my polytunnel doesn't successfully overwinter tender plants like pelargoniums and lemon verbena. They make nice houseplants.
Yes I do that as well plus I use my south facing porch and have flowering pelargoniums all year round in mild but very wet coastal Northern Ireland . 😊
Hi Rosy - if I don't have a greenhouse or tunnel, I'd imagine storing my plants in my shed would be ok? Is a coldframe too cold? Maybe line it with fleece? Thanks again for your videos...😊
So overwintered plants need a little light, minimal water, good airflow, & check monthly! Better put a reminder about that…I tend to forget them and probably water too much. V helpful video once again, thank you
Thank you once again. After I watched your video, I was away out to the garden. You inspired me to get started. Do you water the plants at all over the winter, especially if They get very dry?
Hi Rosie, if allowing my pelargoniums to overwinter in flower on my south facing window sills should I water more than monthly? Very informative video, new subscriber 😊
@@sheenavaughan2717 just make sure you feel the weight of the pots. If it becomes very warm and sunny they may need more water. Better to keep on the dry side and not overwater

You're a star sharing these vids. I enjoy them so much. Thanks
I have never a gaura that tall! I have six of them, all dwarfed by the one in the video. So beautiful.
Thank you Rosy...always so informative.

It has a sedum roof
Thank you Rosy

Yes a shed is fine if it has some light. Cold frame if some fleece will be fine down to say -6C
Can I bring Asclepius into a bright cool room?
I grow all my geraniums indoors on a bright windowsill. It’s so cheerful to see them bloom sporadically throughout the winter.
@@chrispetersen6402 yes you can

That strobilanthes has much smaller foliage than the ones I’ve seen here in the USA. Does it have a cultivar name?

We have a big video on winter watering incoming soon
Great. Thank you.
Intriguing. Who was the mystery person in the window reflection.
a spooky ghost
Always fantastic, relevant information.
Thank you.
You may have spotted the other half of the channel that wants to remain off camera..
Ps would a greenhouse be suitable for this? Or too cold in Northumberland?
A green house is fine in Northumberland even in the north. In fact we used to use one or the garage when we were there.

@@rosyhardy18 Thanks Rosie will do 👏🏻😁👏🏻
So no water at all - or once a month?
If evergreen once a month but always check weight of pot. If deciduous not water
