Hi Forge Core, You will be happy to hear in in 4.0 the Scorpius actually got a really nice DPS buff. The power pool for weapons was increased and buffed the DPS to 1008 for the pilot and 1008 for the turret with stock configuration.
I really like the Scorpius both for its looks and for its role. I never fly it without a turret gunner, because I like teaming up with a friend. In fact, most of the fighters I have are two-seaters. I just prefer tose types of of ships.
Or just put ballistic weapons on the turret. Save the energy for the pilot guns. (And even with max power to weapons you'll probably get more than 30 shots without energy weapons sitting in the turret doing nothing.) And if you do happen to pick up a turret operator at some point at least he's got something to fire.
F8C is so good ship. i got it on accident but going to lose it now when wipe 😭 i just don't afford it otherwise i would buy it instantly. just love that ship
You summed up Scorpius nicely. I really like the look of it and I’m most likely to fly this in Pyro due to large quantum fuel tank. It also has interceptor tuning so I can choose to fight or flee. With new DPS buff and the skull paint job I’m definitely gotta be flying this more.
Yeah... well.... how can I say this? Do you see anyone firing back at the scorp? Just like vanduuls vs UEE during citcon, it feels rather.... 1 sided. Those far rear turrets 2 dual size 2 on farer would eat scorp 10 folds. I cant tell you how faster crack would eat scorpio should it's turrets be filled.
I find it dumb that the guns are on the wing tips instead of the body. At least they could attach them at the base of the wings. Also, I hate the 2 mfd's design. I want 4's at all time.
The Scorpius is definitely a cool ship. Im hoping its 4 wings will give it pretty nice handling in atmosphere when the time comes. Lots of control surfaces
Good review. I've had a AUEC Scorp since the "happy times" of salvaging. I was initially disappointed with it, but that was mainly because I'd been melting things with the full-fat Corsair prior to flying it. However, since the Corsair "rebalance" I've been flying the Scorp and started to enjoy it a little more. So much in fact that when we get wiped and 4.0 goes live, it'll be the first ship I work towards with my Starlancer Max.
You mean the sort of cape? Can be looted off npcs dry worlds and settlements, can be purchased in some stations. I think it's called Lynx, correct me if I am wrong. It's liiiiiight armor so cool factor but better be nimble when you face yahooz.
I’m not a fighter pilot, so I can’t say I’ve ever flown the Scorp. I am more drawn to the Vanguard’s for some reason, if anything. If I were to get a fighter, it’d be in-game and heavy just because I’d need the HP to last more than a minute or two. I didn’t think the Guardian was going to have an interior. Looking forward to checking that out.
IMO you shouldn't be able to fold the wings without the landing gear down. But at least they fixed it to where you can't fire the guns with them folded, right?
great intro and when it comes to the scorpius i was thinking about getting one at some point, i still have some CCU tokens lying arount to get to it but im still not completly sure if its worth it for me, i love the pilot view but at lest in the past i had friends telling me thy disliked the remote turret and prefer the hurricane, so i didnt test it out verry much ingame
It isn't terrible. It's just not a top performer. It's also getting a small buff in 4.0. I'd say this: if it makes you happy, buy it. If no one wants to copilot it with you, remove those guns and save some energy
I got the one with the red alert paint a couple iae's ago, before mm it was a great pve ship even solo, it also had way more ammo in the capacitor, and it was really good in atmosphere and in space, i recently got back in the cockpit with a buddy and it now feels like you are fighting in slow motion, but if you have a good gunner, it might help, but with the low magazine it has now, and it feels like your fighting in slow motion, i still love it, and i think it's faster then the hurricane now so it might have a better chance if you are crewed, we did get wrecked in arena Commander lmmfao, i hope it gets a bit of love. I've had some great adventures with it, especially in last years pyro test.... The scorp is a ship that will never leave my hanger.. If anything it makes a great pve bunker and bounty hunter, if you only have a buddy with you and need something that can defend itself and land in tight spaces for fights on foot lol .. Like you said, it's just cool... Maybe one day it will get better, i did hear though that they upped the ammo count, i don't know if it's true or not
nice review , I do love this ship but she really needs that second seat filled else she takes forever to kill (as you stated) still , I wish I had a reason to use her , but shes been outclassed by the other "special" fighters like the f8 or f7mk 2a for me and I just dont need multiple fighters
I just like the Scorpius. I think it definitely needs a buff on maneuverability, but other than that, I really feel it's about perfect as it is. It's just fun.
@@ForgeCoreGaming Oh I pledged.. used my cash. I looked at many content creators reviews so i didnt walk into it with my eyes closed. Still wanted it anyway. I know many people compare it to the famous X wing and I can see why but for me, this is right out of Babylon 5.. The famous Starfury which was an awesome ship!. Will I keep it? Probably not long term, there are other ships out there that i would like to upgrade too but for now i am very happy.
I like the looks of it. A mate of mine loved that thing and flew it almost exclusevly but as soon as the F8C dropped he never mentioned it ever again. At this state of the game its just not worth it using two men in one fighter.
Yeah, but the issue with 10 furies is that you can't really have the crew for 10 furies once engineering comes out. Life support systems would fail prematurely. You'd likely only have the crew for 1-2 furies at most. And I bet a full crewed scorpius beats 2 furies. But also - it depends what kind of mission you're engaging in.. trying to board other capital ships? Those furies are a good bet.
Really? I think you are the first person I've ever seen who's said that. The Antares would have been amazing if you didn't need a whole second person as a designated button pusher. if they ever make it a fully soloable ship, I'll probably get one.
@@zerentheunskilledthe Ant is the better choice for solo, extra power plant to max everything and if you get co pilot EMP and QT with the speed to chase prey. V4 gives scorps a buff as well
@@bmc8246 The problem is finding anyone that wants to be the guy in control of only two buttons instead of flying their own ship or at least having a turret.
Not a fan of fighter crafts, but I totally understand when you say some ships are good just because they look good and doesn't have to have the best stats. Each ship has a role to play and that is indeed one great thing about star citizen.
Please use lag pip or precision targeting when you're fighting up close or big ships. You're spreading your damage all over the ships you fight by not sub targeting one spot of the hull.
I love the Scorpius. It's absolutely deadly with a coordinated pilot and gunner, though I prefer the stock repeaters since I'm one of those guys that values projectile speed over raw damage.
@@ForgeCoreGaming I simply find it easier to land my shots on small targets when I don't have to worry about travel time as much. It's particularly noticeable in PVP since good pilots can often avoid slower projectiles if they have a small and quick enough ship.
The Scorpius is really cool, there's no denying. I haven't really tried it much and I'm not too experienced in heavy fighters. The Ares were just way too slow to maneuver when I tried them at IAE, but the Hurricane seemed to hit a sweet spot and was fun. I'm really curious about the upcoming Guardian.
I've flown the Scorpius a number of times, and, yeah, it looks cool, but them not letting us lock that turret forward and make it a pilot controlled weapon is a poor choice for fighters like this or the Gladiator (which i will own immediately the day i can hire an npc gunner) and when you add the handling and price, well, i'll stick to my Mk1 Hornet and my Tana (a wholly underestimated little scrapper) when i want to engage in fighter combat. Semi-related, when the Scorpius released someone posted fanart of the Aurora with its 'wings' similarly extended, and it raised the cool factor of everyone's second favorite flying brick by 500% lol
I really think the Scorp looks great, but it lacks something... maybe when blades come into play it gets better, but I don't see it outclassing the Hurricane.
I'm a bit torn apart from this review. Like so many creators, you review ships in a role they're not made for. Sure one can hammer a screw and "review" the hammer but it doesn't do justice to the hammer.
It's a fighter - I reviewed its ability to fight. It's a heavy fighter that should be able to fight larger targets effectively... which it kinda can for now. The only thing I didn't test was having a crewmember in it. Any comparison made was due to the fact that other ships in the same category do more with less crew. Not shown in the video was me doing VLRT & LRT contracts as well. It's just not a top performer. I didn't hate on the ship. I just stated the facts of its current stats & performance. Every assessment made comes with a caveat/disclaimer of sorts.
@ForgeCoreGaming Thank you for your reply. Once again, one can hammer nails, no doubt. Fighter can go for HRTs and above, but their role is aniti Fighter and Bombers. And to see tools misused hurts me every time, no matter if it's hammers, ships, or guns. In the best case, these "users" complaining about poor performance. As you said, SC has a vast array of tools. Simply use the right one and enjoy a world where you get a screw in with some simple turns of a screwdriver.
Hi Forge Core, You will be happy to hear in in 4.0 the Scorpius actually got a really nice DPS buff. The power pool for weapons was increased and buffed the DPS to 1008 for the pilot and 1008 for the turret with stock configuration.
Heyyy that's actually awesome. Pinning your comment
@@ForgeCoreGaming also it is a team fight fighter. Scorpius flies in shreds a shield and run then a dog fight fighter engages it and finishes it off.
Great to hear, the scorp really needed something more to compete better against the hurricane, this should help the scorp out a lot.
The Scorpius is entirely a "rule of cool" ship. So... CIG didn't need to actually put effort into making it effective as a fighter.
Lol that reminds me of a few dates I've been on.
I really like the Scorpius both for its looks and for its role. I never fly it without a turret gunner, because I like teaming up with a friend. In fact, most of the fighters I have are two-seaters. I just prefer tose types of of ships.
Nothing wrong with that
Yeah I do ERTs in my Starlancer. Good shields, good firepower, & able to carry away the profitable loot you find. And costs less than the Scorpius

(And even with max power to weapons you'll probably get more than 30 shots without energy weapons sitting in the turret doing nothing.) 3 minutes in talking about X-Wing... "But I'm not going to talk about looks." 😆
That's not what was said - nor was that the context.. but alright then
I bought this ship 100% for looks... but I use my F8C 99% of the time
But it's so good looking - I don't blame you

This is the first video of yours I have seen. I liked it a lot.
Thanks! And yeah, I've only been doing this about a month.
