      I am sorry that I couldn't reply to one of your previous query. You asked me about Dieffenbachia repotting and Potting soil mix. Now I am unable to see the comment as there are lots in queue. Try my best to reply every comments but sometimes, I miss too. Anyway, Dieffenbachia is a hardy plant and we can repot at this time very easily. Not only Dieffenbachia, this time is good for most of the plants. For soil mix as well, we can do either very basic way or if you are thinking to keep indoor, then please try the same I do for my indoor plants. My plants are in same potting soil mix. Thank you and plz let me know if you have any question :-) Happy Gardening and TC :-)

I bought poinsettias in Jan. this year both the plants were beautiful as long as they wre in nursery bags. Once i repotted them all flowers and leaves dropped. I felt so bad and cried. But for my luck it started giving new shoots. I am so happy the plants did not die. Do you think they give flowers. Please let me know what to do further. Your daughter is so cute. She too will become a good gardener. God bless her. Your dog so well mannered.

    Hi its lovely to see your colorful plants .
    I too have a poinsettia plant but its leaves r always attacked by small white insects ..no matter how much neem oil I spray on it .I have kept it in the balcony which is very bright and airy too.
    Please help

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 года назад +1

      @Akhila Rajagopalan, Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated :-) White insects - 99% those are Mealybugs and Neem oil should have worked. Plz mix 4-5 ml light hand wash with Neem oil (5-7ml in 1 liter water). If still not working, you can try other organic Pesticide such as - Theeta (www.agritell.com/products/theeta) or Agro Plus Am003_2 Pesticide (amzn.to/2OuzrWv). I have used Agro Plus and got good result. Haven't used Theeta yet but heard good news. If nothing works and you are okay with using Chemical, then you can use either Roket or Rogor. Both are extremely powerful and Dose - Only 1ml in 1 liter water. Hope that helps, thank you :-)

    Hello, thanks for an excellent and info video. Last year I had bought some poinsettia plants which now need repotting. The plants are in red soil which is quite hard. Should I remove this soil completely? If so, how should I do it? Await your expert advice.

  • @mahakhalil1
    @mahakhalil1 3 года назад +4

    Hey! How come you had colorful blooms on the cuttings without doing a dark treatment....???
    Also, I have been trying to rescue a poinsettia plant. It doesn't have any leaves, just 3 short stems attached to a few short roots, and I'm not even sure if it is still alive or dead... I put it in water to see if it will grow new roots or leaves - so far nothing and it has been almost 2 months... Should I just give up? Maybe it is not a plant that cannot re-root in this way? I don't know how to be sure if it is completely dead...

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 года назад +1

      @mahakhalil1, Poinsettia needs longer or equal nightime to produce nice color. As per my knowledge, Dark treatment is done for the plants that are forced to bloom much early, when the nighttime is really short. Done so that can be sold at higher rate during festive season. Usually, they bloom in December because of the lighting issue and they maintain the color till March end (in my place). Of course it may not be same everywhere as it highly depends on the light.
      2 months is somewhat long time and sorry to say, I don't see any hope. Anyway, they would remain just normal green throughout the whole summer. So, it would be better to get a new plant next season. Again, it's hard to get them rooted in water, they stems rot too quickly. Hope that helps, Thank you!
