Adjacent to a bustling thoroughfare, an ancient Portuguese mansion stands, constructed in 1684. Despite its abandonment, the site retained its allure, brimming with artifacts from a bygone epoch. Undeterred by close calls getting caught during our initial visit, our adventurous souls resolved to return.
Within the edifice, a trove of war paraphernalia awaited-gas masks, grenades - relics of a turbulent time. The erstwhile inhabitant, a distinguished military officer, left an indelible imprint. Dust-veiled frames showcased battles fought during the Great War, while the resplendent carpentry and ceilings enthralled us even more. In an astonishing revelation, we unearthed the officer's involvement in agriculture, exemplified by rows of forgotten wine casks. This locale resonated with narratives of yore, forging a profound connection. With hearts brimming, we departed, vowing to preserve the legacy of this Portuguese gem and its ageless chronicles.

Loved the small tower with the tiles wall, noticed how all the furniture and ceilings , the wood had dried out must be due to the climate, them ceiling looked like floorboards too x

great very old house ! , and another great video , the kitchen was one of my favorites and the stone work in it is nice and with that oven , you guys do amazing exploring and every house and place is like a mission , sometimes i have to pause the the video as these places remind me of my old farm and big old service station and restaurant and many old buildings on our family land from 1812 we lived there to 1987 , its all gone now , i get stuck in time watching your videos , i know exactly what your saying about how time stands still in these places , i grew up in a time capsule with stuff all around me dating back to 300 years old , my family is from Germany and Italy , we left Germany in 1685 to nj usa and then to Canada before it was Canada in 1788 , great videos guys !!!

He said that he is a friend of the owner and that they have no money. That is the reason why nobody lives there. And he told them that children from school often go there after school and break things. That is why he is taking care of the house and property

Hola Explomo!! Esta si que fue toda una aventura de principio a fin, incluida la herida de Maureno, afortunadamente fue leve. No puedo decir que valió la pena, porque sería irresponsable de mi parte, pero al menos este señor que apareció era más amable que aquél que los sorprendió en esa mansión española que se volvió loco gritándoles, creo que esa vez todos nos asustamos.
Esta casa en Portugal me encantó, rústica con toques elegantes como el cielo pintado del comedor, pero preciosa. Las casas de Portugal y España, tienen ese aire de eternidad que las hace ver indestructibles, las veo así, porque he vivido incendios y terremotos entonces me importa la seguridad. Su estilo más campestre seguramente se debe a que antes estaba en medio del campo y cultivos, pero con el paso del tiempo terminó junto a una carretera.
Hermosos sus muebles tallados, los cortinajes. Mi favorito el balcón con azulejos, el lugar ideal para disfrutar del paisaje.

@@mjc8248la mayoría de esas casas tan antiguas pertenecían a haciendas, sus dueños eran familias de la nobleza y sus tierras estaban destinadas a la agricultura y ganadería. Con el paso de los años con las ciudades creciendo y las familias teniendo cada vez menos hijos y los que tenían partiendo a estudiar a las grandes ciudades o a la guerra, no hubo quién se hiciera cargo de esas hermosas casas. Muy triste, pero es una historia que se repite tanto, como mansiones y castillos abandonados hay en Europa. Saludos desde Chile 🙋♀️ 🇨🇱

Loved this explore! You took a huge risk to bring this adventure to us, and we sure appreciate it! Loved all the furniture. The hand carving was exquisite! So beautiful. I LOVED the kitchen!! There is nothing quite like the kitchens in Portugal. They are in a class of their own. So glad that the house is as preserved as it is. Looks like it has been kept up. God bless you, Maureno and Remon, for working so hard to document these wonderful homes. If it wasn't for explorers you guys, we wouldn't get the opportunity to see places like this around the world.

Hey Jana! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! Yeah, it's a bit confusing sometimes with these urban exploration nicknames. This place got dubbed "Casa Dracula" by some other explorers before because of those eerie red drapes and furniture in some rooms. We didn't come up with the name, but it helps folks remember and find these spots on our channel. Sorry for any disappointment, but we love having you with us on these adventures! 😜😊

My gosh it was dangerous just walking on the side of that road to get to the place with cars flying by so closely! 😳 Great place. I love seeing abandoned places in good condition and not trashed and graffitied. I liked the tiles and intricately carved furniture here. My favorite part is always the photos, though. I could stare at them for hours. But time is not something you have here! 😁 Glad you didn't get caught, but so sorry for your injury. Ouch! 🩹 The sacrifices you make for us is very much appreciated. 👍❤️

That gentleman is a friend of the owner of the mansion. He said that the mansion is like this because the owner has no money for reconstruction. And he is there guarding the place because the students (adolescents) go there to destroy the roofs and the corn crop. Maureno and Remon said "Ah! yes, horses and cows destroy everything" 😂😂

Wow this is why you are my first Explorers and always will be my favorite explorers. Does not matter to me when reading dates right and sayin wrong its a special gift i got to. Back then during wars nightmares begin and sad they don't end after wars!, they have to manage life to stay alive.
