I am going to guess the "2P" on the AUX 2 2P menu item means 2-Position Switch. Great share, I will be using this as a safety backstop on my new-to-me DX7 I got today in a "lot" purchase.

Dear all. I have experimented with this feature/trick. You can use any mixer (my dx7 has only 3). You only have to adjust rate for the direction you use, not both. You have to adjust the offset or it will start mid-stick. I like to make it an ignition switch instead of a kill switch (push button forward/on to activate motor instead of push it forward to kill motor) Then you use +100% (or 125) on rate and offset.
@@jamesgregory7672 Unfortunately due to my career i haven't been able to fly for about 5 years. However I do have my radio so I will do my best to remember and hopefully help you out. In my radio I used MIX4 and set it to THRO>THRO. Then i set the upper rate to 0% and lower rate to 38% (38 if I recall correctly was minimal throttle for my engine to run). I set the SW to GEAR and had 0 offset. Once done the motor shouldn't run in one switch position and once you flip the switch it should start. I really hope I am correct and that this is able to help you out. Let me know the results if/when you test it that way I know for sure and someone else doesn't read this and gets lead the wrong way. It's been and I can't really remember, but if memory serves me right any available mix that allow you to control with a particular switch would allow you to do this, and on mine the switch I wanted happened to be mix 6.
thank you for the info i will look at this for my nitro aircraft to stop the engine running ... why didnt you use the throttle hold switch or does that not work with electric motors ? .... all the best from Ian in England ... stay safe buddy

Why must you use mix 6 or could you use other mixs I'm trying to figure this out for my nitro plane instead of using down trim to kill it
