The fact is, modern applied maths, network engineering, applied physics all have a huge debt of gratitude to Ramanujam. His name was misspelled as Ramanujan!

@@tejapvk That is one way of thinking about it, our bias. Maybe hundreds more died that day due to the same disease and yet we label his death as surprising because he was ALSO a great mathematician unlike others. It's all in an individual's value and our correlation with events in that light
The school Ramanujam attended and several other places still look in shambles as it was more than 100 yrs ago. A new lòok is imminent to draw in attention. India is still in abject poverty. What a shame!
