- In the past year, I have had friends falling left and right and it's all due tot he same thing... POOLS! I always say, pools = problems, if you make even one mistake, you are going to do in a downward spiral. The easy way to avoid this is to simply not get into pools.

That's the way to do it. Things going smooth you keep rolling, but when it's getting rough take a step back and figure out why it's so rocky. Be humble and don't be prideful. MUCH LOVE
Good advice I can't wait to start doing pools. I already hired some day laborers
100% right on this one coming from a pool builder. Landscape contractors (and concrete guys) are notorious for thinking they can just start doing pools right off the bat, but mistake-with that said though, some of the best pool builders around have a background in landscaping so that’s not to say “don’t do it”, just do it the right way and get that necessary experience. A lot can go south real quick on a pool build.
The company I worked for as a project manager just went bankrupt. Their problem is they expanded too fast and started doing services they had no business doing. I’ve been all over the landscape industry for the last 17 years and finally decided to start my own company. My old boss now works for me.

Money management is definitely the problem. A lot of these contractors don't pay their taxes, employee source deductions, suppliers, etc. They take a huge deposit and invest that in new trucks/equipment instead of paying their bills.
Large portion of the pool business is just an owner or a company that subs every part of the build out to a specific trade person. That creates a lot of room for errors and problems. There's a reason pool companies go broke often.

Buisness go under when you start to use the “material & labor” money on your lifestyle instead of the jobsite.
Ive seen a few pool guys go down mostly guys that had no experience and couldn't do the work themselves subbs/freelancers especially in the pool trade are pricey. If you have your own equipment it helps with off setting the cost. Experienced masons is key Good luck pool guys from a plaster guy

Its crazy what people spend. 300k for that outdoor area. I am an owner builder and built my 3100 sqf house this year for 290k.

hi I'm little johnny, what is your deal with lawn guys? why in your last few videos I've watched you have made it a point to look down on us? so your doing 5, 10 mil so what, good for you. does it help your ego? been watching your videos for awhile for entertainment. what if someone making 100 mil was looking down on you. you don't bother me I'm old and mature enough so it doesn't. just trying to understand , you make yourself seem so inmature, like you need to make yourself into something your not, are you dissappointed that your not making 110 mil? your turning me off.
