Billlie will forever have a special place in my heart. Their entire lore thus far, at least from my perspective, is just a metaphor for the sorrows of growing up. How people seemingly feel less joy and wonder the older they get. They tackle the question of “when did we all grow so weary and fearful and stressed? Where did our childhood, joy and innocence go? When did it disappear?” Hence the title of their upcoming album “of all we have lost”. This pre-release seems to be a ballad to those that miss their lives once free of burdening responsibility and anxieties of adulthood, telling them that they can still find the joy they once felt if they ask themselves “what do I like? What makes me happy? What are the things I have today that serve me and bring me joy?” Billlie is such a gem, the way they tell a story through music and performance, how they genuinely seem to love their craft and what they create for this over-saturated community of capitalized k-pop. This comeback was a long time coming and I’m so happy Sua and Suhyeon were able to recover to make this upcoming masterpiece. 빌리 너무 감사합니다
For only being a pre-release its such a catchy and well produced track which is so nu jazzy yet perfectly billlie ~ it makes me even more excited for the title track and ep
I've always said (especially since the eleventh day) that Sua and Siyoon in particular have _impeccable_ jazz voices... this demonstrates that they _all_ do...
The thing about the cage is that Suhyeon is one, her name is Bird Cage in Billlie's story, all the girls have a separate name and they all start with B. Tsuki is Blossom (flowers appear on her side) Siyoon is Beast (scratch marks appear) Sheon is Bubble (bubbles appear in his background) Haram es Bijou (jewelry appears) Sua is a bishop Haruna is a balloon It was good how you interpreted the video 👏🏼
Yeah, all of their B-side names appear on their scenes in that section, and it was so quick that I didn't even realise till just now! Those images also played parts in their Ring ma Bell and Japanese GingaMingaYo MVs, and I'm still eager to figure out exactly what they mean...
I'm over the moon with this song! Trampoline is the first new OT7 Billlie song since Eunoia back in March 2023. BYOB, Dang and Domino were released with 5 members while Sua and Suhyeon were on hiatus. So good to see them all together again 🥰 Well, I did see the 7 of them together at two concerts on their EU tour in July but you know what I mean 😄
2:30 Siyoon is already a brilliant rapper (one of their mains), but for Haruna who follows her, it's a relatively new thing; I've felt since DANG! that she's angling for a lead rapper position, and this song does nothing to quell that suspicion... 😜 3:30 I'm trying to figure out what that "aawww" was connected to..? 3:50 That's some quality stankface... 😁 5:45 Thios actually does tie into their lore. As they lied about Billlie's disappearance and their knowledge of it, they starting believing the lies, and eventually (mostly) forgot about Billlie entirely, and even about each other. I think this ties into that aspect as they gradually lose their memories and connection to each other. The title track (co-written by IU) is called Memory Candy, and I assume them starting to drop the sweets on the floor relates to them losing a grip on their memories. 6:45 The jewels specifically relate to Haram (aka Bijou), as Birdcage relates to Suhyeon. as moon_ast points out, each of the girls has a "B-side" name associated with a hidden aspect of their personality, as we discovered in their short film "the end of the world and the awakening", which is a prelude to Ring ma Bell. (If you haven't seen that, you owe it to yourself; it's a mini-movie masterpiece...) Sua / Bishop Suhyeon / Birdcage Haram / Bijou Tsuki / Blossom Sheon / Bubble Siyoon / Beast Haruna / Balloon
Life has ups and downs, like a trampoline, you just gotta bounce back 😊
