i think to have a very typical upbeat quirky billlie title track would’ve felt a bit out of place considering what happened last year. it was nice to have a song that really feels like it’s addressing the emotions within this comeback. i also love that IU wrote the lyrics for this song.
@@Anistar95 yes, but this is their first ot7 comeback in over a year so i would assume there are a lot more meaningful and intense emotions behind this comeback :)
actually memory candy and trampoline are double title tracks! which makes a lot of sense since trampoline is more of their usual sound and memory candy is important to the members because of the past year :)
9:50 Billlie's lore (as little as i understand) does carry the theme of the girls forgetting and struggling to remember things. in lore they were all friends with a girl named billlielove who they all left behind when the strange man/monster (i can't remember) came and took her. And then they kinda forgot abt her/what happened and by virtue drifted from eachother. (the eleventh hour's lyrics tie into this concept. and it's just a really good song) there's more but imo them not remembering eachother until they all have a piece of the memory candy just ties back into the concept especially the lyrics abt the memory not being really pleasant.
They didn’t have lore short movie for this comeback, but they do put a few scenes in the MV teasers (narrate by IU) that makes you wonder all 3 pairs of girls had committed some sort of murder before they find the candy One came out of woods in scratches with black smokes at the back, One hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere and somehow haram is in driver seat, former driver mysteriously disappeared, One straight up kidnapped snow man and rampaging safe boxes
I think that time kinda stood still for Suhyeon while she was alone but now that they are together again her life continues. I think that's why things were floating at the end.
i find memory candy to be really reflective of everything they've been through in the past year. it feels really special, i'm sure the song must mean a lot to the girls as well especially since it's the first comeback they do as 7 in a long time. i hope you get the chance to check out the rest of the album too if you haven't yet, there's so many gems in it but my personal favorite has to be 'shame'! also 'bttb' is a really interesting track not only for how it sounds but lyrically too, it seems they narrate each of the girl's story until debuting in billlie together through the lyrics of the song. i love how these girls always manage to outdo themselves every comeback, it makes following their journey even better and more exciting. thanks for always checking out billlie's new releases!
Billlie deserves more appreciation for their perfect all rounded albums! As far as musicality goes I feel like they blow it out of the water every single time. They also have some of the most beautiful voices in the kpop scene (imo).
The floating and falling could be related to the trampoline and the overarching theme of nostalgia being bittersweet. I think the creepy aspect comes from the emptiness of all the shots, in terms of negative space as well as the fact that there aren't any other people in their world The Snowy Man is from their single Snowy Night which was the first release with all 7 members after Sheon joined. Lots of references to their previous eras
I listened to some of Billlie's older music to prepare myself for this and I expected something a little weird and quirky. On first listen it's not all that weird, but on subsequent listens it's changed my view on it. The piano melody at the start drew me in, but the sonar pulse echoing throughout the song, on top of the very melodic chorus make this song stick out among the more strange songs like 'Ring X Ring' and 'GingaMingaYo' - I love experimental songs that sound like those. The bright and warm color palette off-sets the mood of the song and makes it that much more interesting. I'm gonna end up watching the MV a hundred times to catch all the little things. All these little mysterious things that just keep me guessing. It's all so fascinating.
i think that bi11lie members are psychonauts. they were exploring their subconscious with their friend billlie love, who disappeared. they made a decision to keep exploring to try find her in real life (billage of perception, a side) and the subconscious (collective unconscious, b side). in this comeback, i think suhyeon became trapped in both the unconscious and real world. the members worked together to unlock their memories and find her again. the yeti has kidnapped bi11lie members in the past (snowy night), so perhaps he had locked up the members' memories of where suhyeon was.
though about yeti/TSM, i'd rather thinking of it as one form of revenge: they kidnapped the 🐰 members back then, so now he got kidnapped too on this MV but like, in previous MV teaser + the shame trackdrop video they were just chilling 😂
0:40 Being obsessed with nevertheless is perfectly sensible. That had the same "earworming me for a month" effect that B'rave did, and now Trampoline seems to be on the right path for that too... 1:35 That's no yeti, that's the SNOWY man! We met him in their "snowy night" MV, just after their debut (that was Sheon's first comeback with them)... 1:50 I'm sure he's perfectly fine..? 8:15 That SuSuz hug makes me well up a bit almost every time I watch the MV..! 🥲 8:50 If you can find the time, it's well worth going back and watching not just the MVs, but also the lore films that accompany most of the mini-albums (several of which are mini-movie masterpieces in their own right); there's even extra info in the teasers for 기억사탕 (which are also narrated by IU). If you like a mental challenge, they'll give you a lot to think about. But there are also a handful of decent fan-made videos which _attempt_ to piece the lore together, though even then it's hard to be sure how right they are; I think Han Jungsu is the only person who _really_ knows what's going on... 😂 9:40 In one of the movies, "the end of the world and the awakening", which accompanied BoP2/Ring ma Bell, we discovered that each member's "B-side" personality has its own name; Bishop, Bijou, Blossom, Bubble, Balloon, Beast... and _Birdcage,_ which is Suhyeon's alternate. In the Trampoline MV, toward the end during Siyoon's rap part, there were solo scenes of the members flashing up which had white-scrawled images of these names. Believe (Belllie've?) it or not, as much as I love this song, _and I do,_ I think this my _least_ favourite on the album. At the moment, Trampoline, bluerose and shame are all fighting for the top spot...
Thank you for reacting to Billlie and appreciating them. This song really represents everything they've been through over the last 19 months. It's not hard hitting but i think the lyrics and melodies bring a sense of nostalgia and lightheartedness that i haven't heard in kpop in a while. Thank you to IU for writing the incredible lyrics and lending her voice for their teasers among many other things she did for Billlie this comeback. Billlie is just so good and deserves more love. thank you again!
This isn't my favorite album honestly but I love them so much they are so fresh I love, brave, various and precious and nevertheless they are so good. I'm so excited for them to release more
Billie is continually just gonna keep evolving and elevating in the music video presentation and production with the most beautiful and amazing aesthetic showstopping visuals
tripleS Visionary Vision will release their 'Hit the Floor' MV on October 23, 2024. The MV is going to be incredible. It's the title track of their 'Performante' Album. The Album is going to be great.

Billie hocus-pocus was quirky and upbeat right?

I'm obsessed with nevertheless until this day lol
same lol
Same, but I'm just as obsessed with 'dream diary'.

I preferred Trampoline over this but both tracks are lovely! I am so glad to have Billlie back!

It gets me emotionally half of the time. That last shot. The ep title “of all we have lost”. I think of Moonbin… I think it’s beautiful.
