btw the short hair girl wearing the orange top in RingXRing, Moon Sua, is ASTRO's Moon Bin sister! They even had a stage performance last week, it's soooo good
Billlie may be broken down into 'Bi' (Korean word for rain), '11', and 'lie' - Bi11lie. The significance of the number '11' was revealed during their debut showcase. According to their legend, When the 11th bell rings in the middle of a purple rain, something strange happens. The girls lie about what happened in order to keep the strange event a secret. They also revealed during their debut showcase that the name Billlie reflected their "B-sides, the inner-self that everyone has inside them". Tsuki and Haruna are Japanese while the rest are from Korea. They started with 6 and then added a 7th member. The group consists of: Moon Sua (22), Suhyeon (22), Haram (22), Tsuki (19), Sheon (19), Siyoon (19), and Haruna (17). Their fandom name is Belllie’ve. Tsuki's fancam for Gingamingayo went viral and now has almost 10 million views. Ginga Minga is a Korean expression which means feeling unsure about something. You may think or remember something being one way but it might not be and you don’t remember exactly.
I was in love with Billlie's debut song! Still am tbh because like you said, it may have been weird but it gave them a unique identity different from any other gg. Although I love GingaMingayo, I would love to see them attempt something similar to Ring X Ring again
the thing that gets me about Billlie as a group is that they're promoted as a performance group but they're all killer vocalists so it wasn't until Ring Ma Bell that their label got the message and found a good balance with their main releases. In the future, I think songs that blend their vocals with their performance will become their niche.
Ring x Ring has got to be one of my favourite debuts ever. It’s deliberately creepy, even moreso when you read the lyrics in English.. there is no doubt it’s supposed to make you feel on edge and uncertain, with a rush of anxiety almost. Their lore is fun too particularly for those of us who like a good, weird mystery! These ladies are insanely talented and continue to put our interesting music that slaps.
Agreed, plus the song is very technical, just like Red Velvet's Zimzalabim. I think these types of songs are more appreciated by those with a good music/theory sense rather than mainstream listeners. Personally, I love it (as well as Zimzalabim :D )!
@@Tanax13 yes, I put it with Zimzalabim as deliberately weird, sonically awesome perfection! I love music that makes me feel things and isn’t afraid to be different, and this song did that for me ☺️
You should check out Billlie’s Snowy Night as well as some of their covers. Also Billlie did debut as 6 members and then they added a 7th member, Sheon (the blonde with no bangs) who had just been eliminated on the show Girls Planet 999 at the time.
They have this type of Stranger Things type of concept going with their storyline. And the music I guess is supposed to reflect that type of dark weirdness but also be kind of campy. I like them. I think they’re one of those unique groups and in terms of dance lines. I believe they have some of the best in Gen 4.
the 1st time i heard ringxring i thought like wow this is cool but wtf is this, sounds weird af... and then every time i listened to it i got more and more addicted to it and just like that it ended up being my favorite kpop title track released in 2021
You should check out their content more (they do a lot of dance cover content) -Billlie (Major lazer squid game ver) -Billlie 1theK switch on -Billlie Snowy Night MV -Billlie Snowy Night Dance practice -Billlie GingaMinga Yo dance practice -Billlie Ring x Ring dance practice -Billlie NCT Kick it dance cover (Fix cam/one-shot ver) (Ot7) -Billlie SuperM Tiger inside dance cover (Siyoon, Tsuki, MoonSua) -Billlie Slumber Party dance cover (Ot6) -Billlie Feel My Rhytem Red Velvet vocal cover (Haram, Sheon, Siyoon, Suhyeon) -Billlie's Tsuki,MoonSua,Siyoon (Beyonce DIVA & 16 shots) dance cover -Billlie's Haram,Haruna,Suhyeon (Cardi B-Up) dance cover
There've been a few videos of them dancing on the 1Million channel! The performance of 'GingaMingaYo' instantly made me enjoy the song a lot more. It's so expressive and they are all clearly having so much fun with it! And yeah, 'Snowy Night' is also a must!
Appreciate you giving Billlie a chance! I have honestly never really been a big girl group fan but something grabbed my attention with them. Something about them just feels different to me. I do feel like their sound is very polarizing for people some are just instantly turned off by their sound. 😅 they have a lot of great of dance videos from pre debut and covers they released recently if you were interested in checking out more of their dance side.
the one you said she's serious in the last vid is tsuki , she auditioned for sm and she was the only japanese accepted from 20k and her audition was freestyle dance , she didnt come to play indeed ! i would recommend you to listen to their recent album & the bsides especially !!
To fully understand some of Billlie work you need to get into their lore, but in short, RING x RING is intentionally creepy, and the alarm sound is intentionally discordant and anxiety-inducing, to get you into the same state of mind that the girls are, within their storyline. (tl;dw, as much as I can: Did you hear the story about Billlie Love? On the 11th day when summer is coming to an end a fearsome monster comes and takes someone to the other side of the world. Billlie Love disappeared, and even though her friends were warned, they did nothing, then lied and said they didn't know her. Now ashamed and miserable, they decide to do something about it, go search for her in the other world, the world everyone has inside them, the B-side. B-11-lie.) Gingaminga is a word that indicates confusion or uncertainty. I agree that Gingamingayo was not as unique as the debut, but I still like it. I wish you checked out Snowy Night though...

Ring X Ring has got to be one of k-pop debuts I've ever seen. Their image and persona slightly reminded me of f(x)
Suyeon(sheon her stage name) was on gp999 and got added to the group in November making them 7!!
Ahhhhhh okay! Nice
