Hi Clair, I'm with you on this one. Fish fingers,Sunday roast Xmas dinner, all with beetroot, even beetroot on a piece with cold meet. They all know it makes perfect sence. Your just keeping it real,, Scotland's proud of you.👍
I wasn’t too keen on beetroot as a kid. My mum used to often have beetroot, she always said it was so healthy. Now my mum is 78 and I go round a few times a week to cook her a nice dinner and we always have a few small beetroot on the side - I love it now. Definitely a convert!
Another quality vlog! On the subject of juice I’m from near Loch Lomond and I work with contractors from Fife and Barrow. The boys from Fife say juice but they have a crazy language for everything Ken? The of the guys from Barrow in Cumbria love irn bru, crispy rolls, and square sausage. One of them came in with a bottle of fake irn bru the other day! “I’m like get oot” 😂😂
Beetroot rocks! My grandparents had it with most meals and I just grew up with it. It’s probably my favourite vegetable to eat both pickled and standard!
Beetroot was often offered in or with salad or cold dinners when I was growing up. I can't remember it being offered with hot dinners though. (My mums family are from Glasgow, so maybe it is indeed a Scottish influence). Love how Clair suddenly becomes an extra 30% Scottish as soon as her sister is there - my family do that too.
Always been can of juice or can of ginger. Trainers were “guttes”. Getting food was “the messages”. The worktop was “the bunker”. Cheese on toast others refer to as roasted cheese. Claire absolutely comedy gold when ripping James about how he should get to sleep. 😂😂😂😂😂
Not slices of beetroot but shredded or mashed beetroot goes along so well with chips, mashed potatoes, gravy and all that. Mashed potatoes + gravy + mashed beetroot all mixed together is heaven!! ❤❤
My nan would have beetroot sandwiches with butter :') My family would also frequently have beetroot as a condiment - most often with like.. ham eggs and chips, burgers, bbq, anything that has salady accompaniments really - Not all the time, but like.. idk summery type of thing
Sharp knives- up or down in the dishwasher? I always have a fear of someone tripping, and landing on them ! I even turn my 30 Yr old son and gfs washing up, knives down ! Beetroot- I will just eat put if the jar, packet etc but never on any other foods apart from a salad. Lego- how kind of them! he wants the star wars millennium falcon 😉 Great vlog by the way, and you look amazing in your Instagram posts x I hope you had a wonderful break with your family and paisley xxxxx ❤️💙💙💙🐶
Hello James Hi Claire Just catching up on all your Vlogs, and this made me smile. Like Claire I would eat beetroot with many things, Don’t knock it till you try it I say :) Lovely to watch your Vlogs not seen you for a long time James xxx Much love xx
Awesome as ever guys! Thanks. Pickled Beetroot is no different to having a gherkin or pickled onion with fish and chips, don't see the big deal. It's a fairly common flavour combination.
This reminded me of when my dad used to drive me to college.. we used to sing Mike snow but with phonetics not words! Don’t ask but always put me in a good mood for the day, religiously watch the vlogs! Love them
Beetroot with fish & chips is a must, but personally I don't like mushy peas ( but that's just me) . I'm from ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland & we call everything that isn't 💦 is callcalled juice, & sometimes we call tap water " cooncil juice" , the best water in the world . Claire was brilliant talking with her sister & the boys, very funny & nature as usual.
Missed the Buckleys fix last week, is James in the new faulty towers maybe lol. Clair, I believe you eat whatever you jolly well like. At the end of the day if you are used to having that then you go for it. Enjoy your getaway guys, keep picking your nose lads ha ha 🤣🤣
Great show Clair. I remember working with a guy who used to grow his own beetroot and used to come in every single day and pull out his beetroot sandwiches for lunch. It might just be a scottish thing ;)
I'm guessing Taskmaster...I think the beetroot is a strange addition but my grandad used to have cupboards full of homemade pickled onions so I get the little quirks and think they should be celebrated x
Pmsl at beetrootgate Clair 🤣 I was one of those people that messaged you and said naw! 😂 Personally I don’t like beetroot but aye it might be a Scottish thing but more of an older people Scottish thing as I remember my granny would put it out on the table with as you said all the other condiments. It was always there 🥴😂 And I’m loving you wee Insta fashion reels, you look amazing in everything ✨
Nothing wrong with beetroot with ya dinner. I might have even added pickled onions too! My son used to stand with a jar of beetroot and a fork and just eat till it had gone, then put the empty jar back in the cupboard. Don’t you just love kids. He probably still does all that, but he no longer lives at home as he’s 30! Freshly cooked fresh beetroot still warm in a sandwich with salt & pepper is gawgus! Pop = coke, 7up etc., squash = your dilute juice, juice = fresh orange/pineapple/apple 😊
Beetroot with fish is brilliant,I also love it with tatties and mince, beetroot goes with everything Claire, like you I have it with most meals, pour the beetroot juice over chips and tatties 👍👏🥰
I’d say the beetroot thing is a Scottish thing but being half Scottish (the better half) I’ve never heard of it. And I’d never put beetroot anywhere near anything I’m eating 😅
Hi Clair, I'm with you on this one. Fish fingers,Sunday roast Xmas dinner, all with beetroot, even beetroot on a piece with cold meet. They all know it makes perfect sence. Your just keeping it real,, Scotland's proud of you.👍
Haha, Clair, I actually laughed out loud with your sleep joke to James.
😂
Me 2 it was a corker.

A jar of beetroot was often on our table for tea, nothing wrong with it!
Fish fingers ☑️ Chips☑️ Peas☑️ Beetroot☑️ That is a meal fit for champions, love it.
Growing up in London, we always had beetroot as part of a side salad, mostly with fish & chips. I can remember it with school dinners. ❤
I'm Scottish, from Glasgow & although I don't like beetroot it is a thing up here with dinners like this xx
Clair in the orange jacket and glasses looking like victor Perkins in despicable me haha love the content keep it up.
I think James has been a contestant on the new series The Masked Singer. Really enjoy your flogs, keep up the good work guys.

Same. I am guessing we both hail from the same part of the world: Central Scotland.
Yes. Obviously . Fish fingers, chips, mushy peas & beetroot👍👍. From Glasgow 😘
We always had a jar of beetroot on the table growing up as well. I remember my dad eating it with shepherd pie.
Really hope it’s TM! Loved Joe on it and have been waiting for some Buckley humour!
Not slices of beetroot but shredded or mashed beetroot goes along so well with chips, mashed potatoes, gravy and all that. Mashed potatoes + gravy + mashed beetroot all mixed together is heaven!! ❤❤

Love a side of beetroot goes with pretty much everything. I really hope James is filming for Taskmaster would be great to see him on that!
That’s dinner is to die for , love it
My nan would have beetroot sandwiches with butter :')
My family would also frequently have beetroot as a condiment - most often with like.. ham eggs and chips, burgers, bbq, anything that has salady accompaniments really - Not all the time, but like.. idk summery type of thing
Coming from Aberdeen beetroot was definately a table condiment for most meals and it's delish. Go for it Claire.
Sharp knives- up or down in the dishwasher? I always have a fear of someone tripping, and landing on them ! I even turn my 30 Yr old son and gfs washing up, knives down !

I’m amazed how strong Clair’s accent is ❤ do you go back to Scotland 🏴 much? Xx
I’ve never had beetroot. We do something similar in the southern US though. We put a plate of sliced tomatoes on the table with every meal.
Nothing wrong with beetroot with ya dinner. I might have even added pickled onions too! My son used to stand with a jar of beetroot and a fork and just eat till it had gone, then put the empty jar back in the cupboard. Don’t you just love kids. I’d say the beetroot thing is a Scottish thing but being half Scottish (the better half) I’ve never heard of it. And I’d never put beetroot anywhere near anything I’m eating 😅
Nothing wrong with beetroot and fish and chips.
Same as pickles.
But beetroot is actually fantastic for the blood pressure.
Beetroot is a condiment💯😊
