A few years later.... Thanks for the video Bryan. I had remembered you doing some pants reviews and I needed some cargo shorts. Right size, color, features, etc., over Black or Bright Friday ordered a pair of Tru-Spec 24-7 series MEN'S ORIGINAL TACTICAL SHORTS in khaki and a pair in black. Wore the black ones and now this week on to the khaki ones. So far I really like them. They are even better than you describe in this video or as shown on the Tru-Spec page. I think you may have mentioned it in another video. If you mentioned it in this video I missed it the second time around. There is a drop in pocket behind the cargo pocket that works well for dropping in a modern smart phone or similar sized object. After looking at the factory webpage and watching your video again (this time at 2x speed) I stuck my hand in it. Yep, it is really there. No need to cue the Twilight Zone music. LOL. So I like that extra pair of pockets, but still have my phone in a pouch (Wilderness Tactical Smartphone Case) on my belt.

These are good pants.
I would wear the green colored version of the Tru-Spec 24/7 pants while out on patrol in as a a Ranger in the Alaskan wilderness.
They have held up great, are comfortable, have a DWR finish, and I really like the bellows pockets.
One caveat...sometimes you have to make sure that the Velcro pocket closures are closed securely, as there is a little slippage.

Great gear!!!! Own several pairs. I like the pocket arrangement is better to than the 5.11 brand.

Absolute best rugged outdoor trousers, I just ordered four more pair. Knee pads a bit on the thin side but nothing a trimmed workout pad won't cure. Easy On, and Easy Off. Tan and tuff as nails. What's not to like? Thanks Brian!

Great review. I see this was a long time ago, but I will still comment..... The Blackhawk lightweight tactical are my absolute favorite, but I can't find them anymore... I looked at these, but without really going through them you never know what you are going to get, and my local store doesn't have them.

Great review Brian. I always like to see clothing reviews like these for the outdoorsman. I'm a fan of the 5.11 Taclite Pro pants because of the back pockets. They run deep so you aren't sitting on your wallet. I have a bad back so that's a major selling point to for me. I like that the one in this review have the internal pockets in the cargo pockets.

They also make short pants in the same design. Perfect for AZ. weather and the elastic in the waist band is good for IWB concealed carry.

Those look like some solid pants. Have you washed them enough to notice whether they shrink much on the length. Too many pants I've had start out perfect and end up as high waters! Annoys the heck out of me. Thanks for the useful review!

great review, i wear these all the time for work and they are awsome, somehow i have 2 different versions of them and i did not like the newer version as much, the fastining button keeps poping open all the time, and they got rid of the knife pockets. i need to buy anothwr pair and have been looking around and dont see that version any more so i think i will get another and have the 3rd gen ones if that is what verzion they are on.
They have several styles. I have both these and the Ascent versions. Both have knife pockets but some of the other pockets are different
my squadron issues them as flight deck pants... although they don't meet the standard. I do like them. I had 2 pair. only have one now. they made us pitch every thing we were wearing fighting that fire on the Truman in August. good pair of pants though.

Biught a pair. liked features and quality. Ordered second pair, same size. only they were significantly smaller and there were thread ends sticking out on several seams. Turns out the second pair was made in a different foreign country., as are all Tru-Spec products. Do I roll the dice and try again?

I just got a pair of these to try out. I think they may be a bootleg pair. They have the tru-spec tags on them.. but there are no pockets for the knee pads, and worst of all the stitching is literally unraveling by day 5 of around the house wear. The stitching inside is uneven, lots of thread just hanging out that will unravel with the lightest of tug.
Does your pair have ANY of these issues? I really want to like this pant, and if i just ended up with a bootleg or a lemon i will defiantly buy some more (from a different website). I find it hard to believe with all the positive reviews on these that no one would notice the QC issues. Seems much more likely that they are a bootleg or lemon.
Sounds like a counterfeit to me. I know my contact told me they had already sued a couple of companies for bootleg copies. If you buy on Amazon make sure it is Amazon not "fulfilled by Amazon".

Some good lookin pants,what sizes are there
They have all different sizes they are in waist and length unlike the BTUs which come in small medium and large etc.
