I don't understand the reason of the length of this video. like 8 16 and more segments are the most basic electronic you can find, it's on or more LEDs by segment, you connect the led to the right voltage the segment is on, you disconnect it it's off. Also using a 16 segments to display only 8 segment is a waste of money, the price difference is very high.

I am very grateful for your feedback, your questions are absolutely legitimate.
Your first question: why the video is 15 minutes?
Well, most of my videos are for beginners, and from my experience, it’s always a good idea to make people familiar with the component, before playing with it. So I am taking my time to do it. No offense, tiktok is not my cup of tea. I don’t publish videos to prove anything, I just like to share from my experience. I published videos 5 second long, as well as longer than 2 hours too.
Your second question: Why to use a 16 segment instead of 7 segment display? Isn’t that a waste of money?
      I have two answers:
-on one hand, if you pick up a 16 segment and able to make it working like a 7 segment, it means to me that you know how to use it already!
-on another hand, did you notice that the 16 segment, even used as a 7 segment looks much nicer? It’s just my opinion though.
As for the price, it’s always your choice where you buy them from. I took 5 minutes to look at the prices though! here they are.
      2.3" LED display 7 segment:
      abra-electronics.com/opto-illumination/led-displays-segmented/els-23101bs-red-2-3-common-anode-single-digit-7-segment-led-display.html - very reliable website
      SKU#(Product code): ELS-23101BS - 4.75CAD each
Don’t go on Amazon, the prices are outrageous: 11.19$ each, plus 1.99 delivery!
      www.amazon.ca/Common-Anode-Digital-Segment-Display/dp/B07Q4B15TB/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3EFTA28GPA8VK&keywords=2.3%22+LED+display&qid=1700438653&sprefix=2+3+led+display%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-3
There are surely cheaper sites, but as they are very unreliable, the final cost maybe higher than what I can get.
      2.3" LED display 16 segment:
      store.qkits.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=2.3%22%20LED%20display&ulmod_sb_honeypot=&product_list_limit=96 - very reliable website.
      SKU#:16SEGCCR - 5.75CAD each
As you can see, the price difference is not really a waste of money, and for 1 dollar more, you get flexibility: When you need to display alpha-numerical characters, the 16 seg is ready. When you only need 7 seg applications, it’s working too and looks nicer✌.
      My best regards,
      CU

@@CU_Wiring_Electronic_Projects I'm allergic to tictoc 😹 but otherwise polishing a video, offer the advantage that as beginners you find the information more rapidly
