    I love this, many people will teach you how to crochet from a video but not many people will actually TEACH you HOW to CROCHET... You can't crochet if you don't know why your doing it or when to! What is a crocheter without a pattern??? I want to learn how to design and make my own.. Thank you beautiful!! You really want people to learn how to crochet and not just be able to follow someone else's steps...

It's funny, this year I took notice in how many people are actually eager to learn how to create their own patterns. So, I'm going to lean into that the end of 2022 and in a big way 2023. I'm excited for where this will lead us. I hope you enjoy the journey. 😁🧶🧡

    This is so greattttt. It has helped a whole lot. My only problem now is determining how to convert yards to grams. Because in my country here, the yarns are always written in grams in the packet, and not in yards. This is my only confusion

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  9 месяцев назад

      Gotcha! You can reference many yarns online for help with this. Take the yarn that is in the pattern or the RUclips video and google it or search for it online. See if you can find how much yarn is in the skein or ball of yarn. Most yarns will share the 4 terms of measurement yards/meters/ounces/grams. Once you can compare one degree of measurement you can figure out what all the other measurements will be.
      I hope this helps! It's converting and math. Once you figure it out it becomes a superpower that few people have cracked. You are SOOO close! You'll get it. 😁

      Hi Crochet Troops! That is a great question! So, for example, with the Crochet Sampler Blanket I am making right now in my crochet along, I had to work up a swatch for every single stitch I wanted to use in the blanket. See if the stitches would align with each other and work together and make sure that one stitch wasn't so much tighter that the work sucked in or the stitch wasn't so roomy that it pushed everything out. I then took the stitches I chose and did a super small sample of how I would work the stitches up together to see if they would in fact work and how the overall project would come out. I hope this helps! Definitely follow along with me in the Crochet Along to see how I go about this process. I'm going to be sharing my process of how I do everything along the way. 😊🧶🧡

      Hi Elizabeth! That is a great question! Yes, there is a formula you can follow for circular patterns. The math is definitely different. I hope you do a video as well! Perhaps you can make these math formulas into a pdf on your webpage to go with the videos, it might be helpful for those who struggle with the math if they see the formulas first hand and can internalize them a bit before trying them out in a “calculation situation”. I thought you presented these videos quite thoroughly, but having the formulas on a ready made form for further reference might help even the best of us as a refresher! I went back and took notes. Good thing you can rewatch videos as much as you need (until it sinks in).

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      That is a really good question Christine! If you are one of the many people who have a tighter foundation row chain than your actual crochet rows, I would recommend starting with a crochet hook one size larger for your foundation row chain, and then switch to the crochet hook you want to use for the rest of the project in row 1.
      Then when you are getting your information, just identify in your notes that your foundation row was created with a different size crochet hook and how much yarn you used in the foundation, so when you are working up the actual project you know to begin with that specific hook and what results it produces. I hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶
