Finally got around to getting these for my non KDSS runner. Super glad I don’t have to deal with the hydraulics. Looks like an easy and fast install without that system in the way
@@SnailTrail4x4 well found some really nice aluminum sliders and having a hard time. Looking for front bumper for 2012 limited. If I would have known that 2012-2014 were hard getting after market accessories would have bought different year 4Runner…lol
We're running 34" tires with a 17" rim (not sure of the offset) and there is a 1.25" spacer behind the wheel. You need to do a body mount chop to run 33" tires
SnailTrail4x4 Hum. I was reading the install instructions and the passenger side. They did say not to torque them so they confused me. I bought a used set that that should be here this weekend.
Nice sliders.. im considering doing it to my 2019 4runner trd off road.. now did you have to remove trim(rocker trim) to install them? Also are those sliders high enough to protect your truck from jerks in parking lots opening their car doors?
I added a link to the description to C4 Fabs website. I'm not quite sure what bolt over plates your referring to. If it's the kdss there wasn't an issue when we were installing the rock sliders the plates fit fine with the exception of the one we showed. If you're referring to the plates that are on the Rock sliders themselves we opted not to go with that style.
Well done. Do you recommend any anti-corrosion control between the sliders and the chassis? We live in heavy salt area and wonder if that would be recommended and what to use.
That's a good question, and I don't know anything about that. I live in a dry, no salt area. But, here's my guess... I'd paint any raw metal when you cut the holes or scrap the frame (if you do). Make sure you clean both surfaces and remove any salt that is previously there. Possibly place some silicone around the edges between the frame and mounting plates for the sliders. Does anyone have any other suggestions? What do you normally do in that weather?
We normally rust in this weather lol. But you have a suggestion worthy of consideration. Was thinking of sandwiching a little lithium grease or anti-seize compound to keep out moisture and salt more as a displacement of the elements. The winters here can be brutal on vehicles (and us too) lol. Thanks for your input.
Great video. I’m going to be installing mine this weekend. Is there any specific torque setting you did while installing the sliders? And did you just bolt them on by ratchet set or impact gun?
We did not use a specific torque when bolting is on. We made sure that they were tight and we did go back and check them again a few months later. We did it by hand with a socket wrench/ breaker bar.
how much modding did you need to do to the driver side to get them to fit to the KDSS? I have an opportunity to get some non kdss ones at a good deal but wanted to see what it involved.
SnailTrail4x4 I recently I subscribed to your channel and I have learned a lot. I'm new to overland and I also have a 5th gen 4Runner. I'm still debating on what things should I buy and how it looks. I really enjoy your videos and I think you explain things very well 👍👌👍👌
+tjmltv -- Thanks, that's great to hear. Lately I've been thinking I need to go into more detail on my videos. Have you checked out Trail4r.com there's a great section there about what your first modifications should be.
Sorry if you have KDSS you will have to remove bolts. Just a simple fact. Also this was way easier than my x4 innovations sliders..... like 23 bolts 5 6 INCH bolts support plates and all, but they are WAY beefier than c4 fabs, CBI, RCI.

I wish we didn't have to work on KDSS
It seems that the bronze w/ gold flake was aftermarket. C4 does not have that option on their site. Only bare metal. These do look great though.
Yes the color was custom done.to match the wheels
Any issues with the kdss since you installed the sliders?
How did they perform and are the worth the cost ?
Definitely a great slider, also check out Bay Area Metal Fab or Relentless Fab
@SnailTrail4x4 you ever check C4 fabrication ?
@@dunnoyolo2238 they are a good company, what are you curious about?

That thing gonna dominate the Whole Foods parking lot.
Nuggets!
I have an SR5 2019...Could I put these on there? The stock one is black plastic...Do is it just screw off? Sorry I am new to 4runners/modificationa.
Yes I don't know why they wouldn't fit, but you can always confirm with the manufacturer. Also yes the plastic ones simply unbolt
Will these fit a 2012 4Runner trail?
I do not know, you should contact the manufacture
What is the price ?

Can you give me some info on your wheel and tire setup? Did you have to do a body mount chop? Any rubbing issues? Thanks!

Did you guys not use the 3/8” thread cutting screws?
When would you use that bolt? I don't think it came in the kit we used.

do these sliders protect you from other cars when they open their doors in parking lots?
They do stick out a lot and do give you more protection, not 100% sure it would protect you from all cars, but definitely most.

On the 2014 we don't need to remove the rocker panels. And yes, the do for the most part prevent jerk dents in the parking lot.
It’s sweet karma when some soccer mom with annoyingly rude children opens their door into a slider. The look on their face is priceless. lol
Those look great. Install didn't look too bad.
+The Bearded Jeeper -- it was straight forward bolt project with the exception of the KDSS.
Beautiful. And the skid plates look good too. Maybe a second install video is in order ...
Let's do it!
where can i get these rock sliders? i like this style in particular. please provide link
also have you had an issue without the logo plates that bolt over the sliders?

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply!
Wasn’t sure if I needed to or not. Or just get some locking washers for added strength.

We spoke to C4 Fab and they gave us some guides for cutting. Other then that it was just a cut off wheel.
You should make a small video at the end, like a walk around to see how it looks.
+tjmltv -- maybe I'll have to get it in the shop fora Rig Walk Around. What do you think?

Looks great, but I’m not taking anything or cutting anything off. I’ll look for something easier to install. 😌
Totally understand. We originally ordered the wrong part, I think the cutting we did was because of that.

Great video. Those things look beefy and have a great look. Definitely like them and the testing idea I think he should pivot on them also 😏.
+AZ WESTSIDE WHEELERS -- haha, that will be the day when I get him hi-centered on this sliders.
Damn, that white balance makes my wheels look terrible!! They are not that yellow!!! lol
I tweaked some of the colors to try and lower the bright white, no luck
