Hey great video. One pointer for anyone watching, there and 2 plugs to drain oil from engine. They are right next to each other. One is a 17mm and one is a 10mm. The 10mm drains the oil filter so it doesn't make a mess. Thanks for the video🤙
My 1st XRC oil change was a HUGE mess, oil flowed everywhere but the correct hole. I got oil all over my shop floor and this is a new building of mine...I changed engine oil in 3 Fendt tractors and not a drop on the floor. I just used the funnel on a 500 mile service. I'm shocked as hard as you run yours, your changing oil at 1000 miles. The big upgrade I did was rip out the cheap Fox shocks for King's, you wouldn't believe what a huge upgrade that is! If I have time I'll post a video. Thanks for this video, it will be very helpful to others, but anyone without a lift will have the biggest challenge of all.
Brandon, those trailing arm guards are worth their weight in gold! I'm so glad I installed them along with full rokblokz fenders. The trailing arms will be shredded the first time you blast the trail which is a testament to why you have them. They look pretty bad ass (in blue of course!). Enjoy Moab brotha!
For sure mark my friends rokblokz stuff is awesome. Moab was a blast The xrc kicked ass I can't wait to get the videos up and show you guys. it was so much fun😎👍
Brandon I just want to say thank you for all the work you put into doing these videos. It’s like a Can am work shop. I thought I’d video my front dif change out on my Polaris sportsman but I just didn’t have the energy to edit all the swearing out 😒. I am going to start a few videos when my Maverick x3 XMR comes in. Need to pack the wheel bearings and tweak the shocks. Anyway thanks again brother.
Mud dawg I appreciate you bro all the comments and the kind words. I enjoy making the videos and usually I don't swear that much lol I try to keep it PG if possible Haha. Dude you're getting it X3 XMR that is a badass machine can't wait to see if you videos on it😎👍
Many thanks Brandon! Great funnel tips for drain and fill of the engine oil. I completed the oil change on my '18 XRS Turbo R last night with no mess thanks to you. Also, I appreciate you stating the tranny and front diff oil type and fill amounts. This information is tough to find and not in the service manual for the smart locker front diff. I also have the Smart Locker so am happy to know to use 11.8 ounces of 75/140 in the front and NOT 17 ounces of 75/90 as the service manual states.
Good video thanks. I found it way easier when filling the engine oil to use a hose style funnel and come in straight from the top of the back deck. One of the holes in the deck lines up pretty good with the oil fill.
Hello. What service do you recommend at 10 hours for a 2020 can am maverick x3 rs turbo rr? My dealer told me I should bring it in for a 10 hour service that cost $465. Is this right? They change oil and check other stuff I believe. I need to call for the exact service.
If you hadn't already bought the X3 and knowing what you know now, would you buy the turbo s or the xrc if buying today? Which would you say is more durable?
If you have not greased the wheel bearings, move that to the top of your list. From the factory they are nearly dry. With the greasing tool (Amazon) it's really easy, but you need to pump the grease gun about 14 to 15 times for each wheel. Yup, that are that dry from the factory.
All the way from the UK - Thanks Brandon for all of your great videos mate! so well done and informative. Helped me just place an order for a 2019 XRC :-)
You're welcome Carl you going to love your new xrc. we just finished the Baja 1000 in our race xrc. it was pretty rad I should have some videos coming soon😎👍
Great video, thanks. I have a question regarding a x3 vs a Rzr. Would you say the rzr is a better trail car then the X3 because of the seating and line of site? I mainly ride in Wisconsin where there are a lot of trails in the forest. Been to Moab and travel all over but mainly Wisconsin type trails. What would you recommend? Thanks!
Man this is such a hard question for me to answer because I truly love both machines. the RZR is definitely a little bit more Nimble and might be a little better in the mountains I don't like to seats and I don't like that it doesn't have beadlocks. but you can buy beadlocks and you can buy seats. so for your type of riding you might like the turbo s better😎👍
The RZR is no match for the X3 in any way, other then its narrower and may fit down narrower trails. RZR's eat my dust every day of the week (correction...every weekend, but you get my point) :).
Great Video Brandon. Thank you for taking the time to make and post. Question: My 2017 XRS Manual says 14 U.S. oz for both the Gearbox and the front diff. In your video you say 42 oz for the Gearbox. Did I hear correctly?
13:50 FYI If you guys have a 2019 XRC, use the 75W90 Synthetic oil for the front diff per the manual. Part number 779158. In this video, Brandon is talking about the 2018, which may be the different grade. FYI.
On the Maverick Forums, nearly everyone who measured what they drained out of the rear diff/trans came up with 52 oz. The 42 oz refill mentioned in the manual barely touches the dip stick. Better plan on 52 oz for a complete refill.
Hi Brandon. I love your videos and your passion for the vehicles. I was originally looking at a CFMoto z1000, but after watching all your videos I am 90% swayed on buying the 2018 XRC. I am just checking that you are still happy with the XRC? Are there any other brands or models I should be looking at before I pull the trigger? I will be using the vehicle for mixed types of riding. But prefer to have the best vehicle on the market so that I don’t have any regrets. Thanks in advance and keep those awesome videos coming.
First of all thanks so much for all the support on my RUclips channel I really appreciate it. I love the xrc and up till a couple months ago I would have said without a doubt it is the best machine on the market. now we have the RZR Turbo S I don't know which one's better but it's definitely a good competitor. I love the looks of the xrc the seats the motor the low range and the Smart Lock differential. the RZR Turbo S I absolutely love the Dynamix suspension the visibility the power steering and the technology and the fact that it comes with 32 inch tires from the factory. those are my two favorite machines and you really can't go wrong with either one of them😎👍
Is that the octane blue or what do they call that blue. Im stuck between that or sunburst yellow or the green on repainting my 4 wheeler. Thanks in advance
So this was the first time you were changing the oil and filter? You said it is the break in service at 1000 miles!! At the dealer, they told me to do 50 hours service when I got my 18 Max Xrs. I purchased it last month and only have put about 30 miles on it. I know that is still under the break-in period, with winter coming, do i have to or should I change the oil and stuff?
Great video Brandon. I'm definitely not a pro but I have read that BRP says to not use air to blow out the Donaldson filter under any circumstances because it will damage the filter so I thought I'd pass along. If you'd like to use Donaldson's top of the line Blue series filter order DBA5225 shop.donaldson.com/store/en-ca/product/DBA5225/74178?_requestid=3001856 I ordered a case of 4 from my local CAT dealer and they are actually cheaper than the oem regular Donaldon at the Dealer. Cheers and keep the vids coming!

Im sketched out on how your lifting the x3 😂. ive been trying to figure out the best way to put mine on the lift without moving

I have the exact same Can Am X3Rc rear diff took 54 OZ to fill to dip stick mark.

What gear oil do I use for the 2018 stock turbo x3, should i use the 75x 140 for both or the 75w90
Great Video Brandon. Thank you for taking the time to make and post.

Question got a 2020 maverick x3 rcx and finished breaking it in has about 13hrs on it should I do maintenance right away or wait longer?
First services do it a thousand miles
Did your can-am RC come with a cover for the battery? Talking about the one behind the passenger seat.
To be honest I'm not sure
Brandon Pierce okay
My 2020 didn’t have a cover but they do make some in the aftermarket

The blue on the Can-Am x3 it's really close to safety blue. I'm not sure what the official color is called😎👍
Cheers bro, thankyou from New Zealand.
Thanks man I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate it. I hope things are good New Zealand😎👍
Did you remember to take out the little 10mm drain bolt on the engine along with the 17mm?
I didn't just to 17 mm
Brandon Pierce If you didn't remove the small plug, you left about a half quart of old oil in the engine
joe hartley well that sucks. it seemed like it took all 3.7 quarts it was on an angle when it was on the lift and we do let it drain for a long time.
@@pmutah RIP

Have a friend that owns a Can-Am dealership he told me the first service was it a thousand miles thanks for the comment
25-50 hours on the first service depending on how hard you ride.
Thank you for the video....
Doug Lowenthal no problem Doug thanks for watching it😎👍
What about the transmission?
Jarrett Labate yes we did the transmission to that's part of the rear diff👍
Why not buy a oil pump
Yeah an oil pump might work pretty good😎👍
