Sam Witwer (Being Human, Star Wars) joins us this week and we get deep. He opens up about reassessing his life and how people’s impression of him being a screw up molded his self image for years. Sam talks about how this industry encourages people to hide vulnerability and put up a front; and how some of the false fame that can come as a side effect of this can be harmful to your mental health. Whole lot of real life talk in this episode, but we also get into Sam’s love for (and career with) the Star Wars franchise, how some of the SiFi issues resolved on Being Human, and his experience in Season 8 of Smallville.

I heard, not only was he engaged to her, but they actually got married, grew old together, she died, he had a bunch of balloons in a house with a Boy Scout. It was a whole thing.

Sam Witwer can easily fly under the radar if you've never watched Star Wars animated shows or played Star Wars Force Unleashed games. His fame outside of that is limited.

It’s so crazy how every single actor who plays a couple on the show winds up being hit by dating rumours and it’s crazy that it still has the impact to ruin an actors career or even there home life. I don’t get why people find it so hard to separate what’s on the screen and the real life they don’t even see
Sometimes the actors have never even met before too. There was a rumor sometime last year, for instance, that Jenna Ortega and Johnny Depp were dating.
I completely agree. I remember seeing a post by an actor of his wedding, and some fans said in the comments, "You should've married your costar." A lot of people freaked out at the people who posted comments like that.
Recently saw Sam pop up in an old Always Sunny episode, blew my mind and made me smile so much. It was a pretty small part but, his face, that voice, I gasped. It was really him.

There were A LOT of smalltime working actors just starting out their careers who had bit parts in Always Sunny, especially in the early seasons ...I mean one of the dudes from the Reel Rejects RUclips Channel was in a scene in the 1st season lmao

I never heard this rumor either, but SW and Allison Mack did so well in Season 8 of SMALLVILLE that I would have believed it in a heartbeat.
Their chemsitry was lit. So good as Chloe and Davis ❤ Sadly, Allison's actions 😑

Sam Witwer is such a nice and humble guy . He is a huge part of Star Wars and i loved playing The Force Unleashed games and listening to his Darth Maul voice in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels . I loved his role in The Mist and his cameo in The Walking Dead .
They need to make a role for Sam in the Star Wars live action. It needs to be an epic role too. I doubt they can do StarKiller now, but maybe something kind of similar?

I want a DAYS GONE 2 so bad it’s criminally underrated. I was blessed to play it for the first time on my PC. One of my fav open world games of all times.
I don’t think it’s CRIMINALLY underrated. I’m playing GTA 4 right now and it came out in 2007 and it’s better

I loved seeing Sam pop up everywhere in the 2000s. Crashdown, Doomsday, Aidan, Starkiller. I love he did a cameo for The Walking Dead as a favour for his mate Frank Darabont. The Force Unleashed was such a tight fun story with great callbacks and callforwards and then to top it off Ultimate Sith Edition playing through evil versions of ANH and TESB was dope!
I love him as Doomsday, Being Human. I actually thought they were dating because of the fans.

In some ways the fans can unintentionally be the most toxic part to an actors career. Take that combined with the Internet and lots of problems for many people who are famous.

Sometimes they just rush to judgement based off the online rumors. This happens way to often for my liking. love hearing actual moments with sam - shows what a great actor he is, and genuine nice guy.
Some of his best are all the star wars gaming content - listening to him and others talk about their game.
Anyone who likes his acting should also check out "being human" - a quirky dark show that he really does a great job in (so do all the other actors as well).
In my opinion this is the best episode of this podcast.

Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo were never married and there is no evidence they were in a relationship. He’s been married twice and she never according to Wikipedia.

I remember Sam from Battlestar but haven't really watched a lot of his latest stuff.
That is the most insane story. For some reason there are a hardcore of "fans" in these sorts of spaces who are insane. I've seen these peoples antics and they are incredibly toxic.

To take a guess maybe they ran out of money by thr time the finale got there or wrote themselves into a corner where they ran out if ideas? The reason for me on why the finale is so bad is because we know who doomsday is and how tough he is yet they choose not to give us an epic fight. What I want to know is why?

So ridiculous how some people can't tell the difference between fiction and real life. My brain actually processes fiction the same as it does reality. It encodes all memories using the same process, whether it's real or not. Thats why I dont like horror, and why I had a nervous breakdown after watching She Said (true story, but portrayed by actors). Even I know that this stuff is not real. I would never assume two actors are together just because they had great chemistry in a show or movie. It's bonkers.

He played (Ben Lockwood) Agent Liberty, the seasonal antagonist in season 4, mostly 4a before Lex Luthor came along in 4b. He did a great job with the role. Especially 403.

Never heard this, which to me is strange considering he was on BSG with Nikki Clyne who supposedly was briefly married to Allison Mack... Conflicting reports as to whether they were in love or just doing it for immigration status...
Allison and Nikki were never inlove, they married only for immigration status no thanks to Keith who commanded them to marry when Allison and Nikki were not getting along.
They did it for immigration status under orders from Keith to keep Nikki from being deported back to Canada.
