Aside from his musical gifts, Beck here reveals his talents as performer with this country persona. He is an actor with chameleon abilities, moving expertly from genre to genre.
This young man has composed from his inner self, one of the most beautiful songs ever produced !!! The recorded original is a work of art and will live in our hearts forever :) By far, this is his signiture gift of music...
Just came across this, amazing how he puts a country twist on this without seeming cheesy, it's a very good rendition of one of my all time favorite songs.
I saw Beck for the first time when he opened up for the Meat Puppets. I guess you could say it was the Mellow Gold tour. If I remember correctly it was 1994. He was amazing. He stopped the set because people were moshing and he wanted his fans to enjoy his show. He didn't start singing again till they stopped. I'll never forget how cool that was. I've luckily been able to see him 4 times. All have been in intimate venues. I'll also never forget how I made him laugh on stage and what he said to me. Haha!
I was there. Beck was great this day. Saw the Dead in '90 there; Neil Young, Soundgarden and other artists as well -- REM, Wilco etc. I have to say this is the WORST venue in the world. Sight lines suck ass -- even in seats, not to mention the so-called "lawn" section. Don't waste your hard earned money, see your fave acts in Milwaukee, Indy, Minneapolis or ANYWHERE but here.
As a hardcore Beck fan for over half my life now, I have to say this is probably his most honest and greatest song.
My personal favourite
Of Cabbages and Kings Lampshade or Ramshackle for me but yeah this rules..
Amen.
This will play at my funeral
Yep.. I really really love it!

There’s something so hypnotic about this particular Beck set. I love it, come back and watch probably once a month. Beautiful.
I just found this live recording of that set. Wish i had a time machine, i would be sitting in that audience
My favourite song.

Hands down my favorite Beck song. Was lucky to catch them play this on the 'Odelay' tour in Charlotte '96 w/ Dirty Three opening. What a show!

What a talented man he is...
my favourite song of him
I love this song. 😊
This is so pure and heartfelt
Beauty. Bravo Beck, bravo!
Beautiful!
Its all over now Baby Blue
tremendo
❤️
He takes his Dylan song and makes it a Dylan+Cash song. I'd love a rockabilly album.
I'm doing a mashup of this song with "Japan" by Cocorosie for my upcoming covers album.
Why did he transpose it up a step?
It's easier to sing live as the original song is kinda low
The guitar is bigger than him.
gary wilson is turning over in his basement.

That lineup though....Wilco, Beck and Neil ....they are my top 3 faves.
Silly little audience know not that they are in the presence of greatness. Sigh.
