Ich war damals 5 oder 6, als ich mit meinen Eltern da war. Ich kann mich nur noch an die Gondeln und den Totenkopf erinnern. Danachhabe ich wohl konstant geweint, bis wir Heim gefahren sind. 😄
I don't remember going to Phantasialand because I was too young but I did have a booklet of the park with pictures of 1001 nacht. And of the haunted house, something with a painting of a skeleton... Later in life I went there with my husband and I was so disappointed.
@@kosmoboo This is one of the things that is pretty much lost in time and hard to find anywhere... Most people think of "Geisterrikscha" as the haunted house of Phantasialand (mix of haunted house and Chinese tales) - but this is only partly true! What you describe sound much more like "Burg Schreckenstein" (there are some rather low quality videos on youtube), a very short walkthrough haunt that was situated behind Hollywood tour (I think, might be mistaken). The issue is, since space is so rare there, they need to deconstruct the classics to build new stuff. This applies to so many things...Gondelbahn 1001 Nacht, Silbermine (western darkride that was demolished aloong with two other waterrides to create the new waterride Chiapas)... They even demolished the replica of "Brandenburger Tor", one of the most iconic German symbols to make room for new things. I am a bit undecided - I could absolutely understand beig disappointed returning years later, since so many classics are gone. The new rides (like Chiapas and especially Taron) are top notch, but for every new grand addition a lot of the classic DNA fades :(
@@christopherj.4211 I also loved the Silbermine. I'm a sucker for classic animatronic rides. And my dad once really got scared at the part where a part of the ceiling moved like it was collapsing 😂
It looks awful. It also seems like it would be claustrophobic. I've never been on it in real life but just from the video the roof seemed so low and the show scenes were so close to the boat.
I went to Phantasialand back when both the 1001 nacht gondola and the Hollywood Tour still had “The Birds” scene in it. The gondola was very pleasant but The Birds scene in the Hollywood tour was super eerie - the Jaws scene not so much - the sharks are about the size of a medium sized dog, lol. But the King Kong animatronic would probably be a nightmare for those with Submechanaphobia - the water was clear so you could see where the Kong animatronic was cut off at the waist inside the water.
Tbh with how the wizard of oz scene is it kinda makes sense that the birds scene would have had the same vibe and I the creepy thing for me personally with the jaws part is the current shape of the animatronics which are kinda falling apart
same.. though any type of water scares me.. open bodies of water are a lot worse for me like a lake or the sea. but even pools have a creep factor for me.. unless i can stand in it i won't be happy getting in.. as soon as i can't feel any floor underneath my feet i panic. (now i can swim.. i'm dutch and anyone growing up here is taught how to swim via school or via their parents it did take me a lot longer due to my fear however.. most kids finish and get their swimming degree when they are about 5 or 6 years old.. i was 11 when i finally got mine) as a kid anytime i was in a pool where i couldn't feel the floor i felt like something was going to grab my leg and pull me under or nibble my toes off. even though my father would always tell me that there was nothing in the pool and there was nothing to worry about. and even now if i were to be pushed into a deep swimming pool out of nowhere i'd be unable to mentally prepare myself and i'd panic causing me to spaz out and start thrashing around like mad
I went on brer rabbits ride when it first opened. Leaving it to decay was the best thing the park has done for it. That ride was horrible in every way and an insult to the ride that was there before it.
Oh my God Knoebels! LOVE THAT PLACE!!! We have a homemovie of me at four-years-old coming out of that haunted house shaking like a leaf LOL I didn't go into another haunted house until I was 18 years old. Ironically the same one LOL I still went through it with my eyes closed 😆
@@anastasiabusacco7904 Wow! That’s quite a long time you and your family have gone to Knoebels. I’m not sure how long me and my family have gone there, but I always have lots of fun there. But as we grew older, my brother and my dad grew out of going to Knoebels. So, me, my mom, my sister and her girlfriend are the only ones who always go to Knoebels every year.
Fastpass Facts, Can you do top 10 amusement parks that no longer are around? Here are some examples Six Flags Astroworld, Six Flags New Orleans, Idora Park, and Geauge lake.
I love how the last ride in the video is literally just a poor man's Great Movie Ride mixed with Jaws the Ride and Kongfruntation, and a huge spider for good measure.
The Lavender town music in the back ground, I love it! And I would personally hate to be trapped in these rides- But my friend's and I would sure ride these just for the scare. Although I am not really scared or fear any of these, but I would go just for the experience!
I seriously binged watched all the submechanophobia videos in a damn day. I'm so glad they posted another one. I don't have submechanophobia, sometimes water animatronics freak me out, but I adore these videos and I def need more
Loved the video! Shook me up when I heard 'Knoebles' not pronounced 'Kuh-Noble's. 😂😂😂😂 I'm from nearby, used to go all the time as a kid. Even scarier are the mascots😂😂😂😂
I love going to knoebels. its in the mountains and has a campground, its been flooded many times and still is in operation...and they have gator meat :)
Oh, number 1 looks so cool! These animatronics are so damaged, but yeah, somehow it seems like it adds to the atmosphere - at least from what I see in the vid - it's not like I'd seen them in real life. Very cool vid, in any case!
Ew! Brer Rabbit’s Burrow Ride is definitely creepy and looks disgusting. Especially the drowning music you put on there. And those bunny animatronics are beyond creepy.
Video: Hollywood tours in Phantasia is scary. me: "Didn't I ride that like 4 times in a row to escape the burning sun?" Honestly, because of the older animatronics, it's not scary at all. Fun fact: The dress that the good witch wears is said to be the original (ride operator told us) Please do more videos on Phantasia, it is my favorite park in northern Europe!
it's so funny to me to see a lot of rides from phantasialand in these videos, brings back so many good memories! phobias aside (from which i don't exclude myself, dark water themed rides really send chills down my spine), the two rides were always more funny rather than scary to me as a kid and teen, since the animatronics (sadly) always looked a bit dated and rigid, but we had a great time nonetheless! excited to see which rides&animatronics you'll talk about next!!😊
I've ridden the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels! I liked the old iteration best, but the new one is good too. I'm glad you found it freaky enough to include it on here. Knoebels is one of my favorite places in the whole world.
I still remember the "Birds" scene from the Hollywood Tours from my childhood. Didn't know that they changed it to Oz. Hence, didn't even know that the ride still exists allthough I've been to the park several times over the last few years.
I can't believe you featured the Spreepark 😭 It was THE amusement park of my childhood. It really made me tear up to see some of the rides again. The Spreeblitz was my favorite rollercoaster when I was still too little to go on the bigger rides. It even made two full rounds, so you went into the tigers mouth twice. And in there, flashes came at you. I was never scared of it though. The park is very close to where I live and sometimes I can see the ferris wheel from far on my way to work. The story of the owner and it's family is fascinating and a tragedy on top. I was so sad when the park closed back then 😥 Thanks for the great content.👍
The knobels haunted mansion is not exactly owned by the knobels family as it’s a separate up charge for it which it’s what like two bucks. It’s a good little ride that runs on the older haunted ride model. Every single animatronic is flashed for a second then a noise then another animatronic right through the ride. It’s supposed to feel old. It doesn’t have a very high throughput but it’s still worth a ride. Nothing fancy just an old school tide.
It is owned by the knoebels family..what? It’s just not included in the wrist bands but neither are the coasters or the grand carousel. What a weirdly untrue thing to say lol. I know the guy who’s the head of maintenance for the house specifically. What lol
I rode the Brer Rabbit Burrow ride a few years ago. It really was as bad as everyone says, and it did smell really horrible, but I have the fond memory of laughing hysterically through the entire thing. The whole of Oakwood is like that though. It's pretty run down and sad.
So many German rides ! That kinda makes me proud 😍 never thought I would see my favorite childhood ride on number one - seeing the Hollywood ride again gave me such throwbacks and I definitely have to go to phantasialand again 😬
Important, the Spreepark is not Abandond anymore. They want to reopen the Park. Actually the Ferris Wheel does turn a bit in the Wind but the reason it sometimes spins even without wind has noting to do with Ghost or anything else, its because the Park is still connectet to the Power system they (The new owner) turns it on and even Ride it. But the Ferriswheel was eventually dismantelt. You thought that was the end of the Wheel and its now Trashed ? No because they want to fully restore the wheel (and basicly the whole park),
Great list! Gold Rusher at Kennywood would be an honorable mention. Ride was eventually replaced, but there was one scene of a giant spider attacking a woman, only for a giant spider to appear appear above you. The woman's screams, combined with the lighting, was absolutely nightmarish.
Instead of the Wizard of Oz, that house resembles the Myers house from Halloween (1978). They would’ve been able to pull something crazy like that off way better than the out of place character placement. Would’ve been a great last minute choice in my opinion!!
The hollywood tour is a great dark ride, i have been to this park a lot. Could you guys also cover the geister riksha someday? It a omnimover attraction like the haunted mansion.
Me, a German, sees the phantasialand shark on the thumbnail, immediately needs to watch the video, just because it's phantasialand and it's my second home 😂
Any enclosed dark ride can become nightmare fuel when you learn about the Ghost Train fire that happened at Luna Park in Sydney. The documentary on it gave me a new fear of locked doors and poor emergency exits!

Me: *hears the background music at the beginning of the video* Also me: Ah, I see that you are cultured individuals! Are you looking forward to New Pokemon Snap, perchance? P.S. For the Hollywood Tour section, I’m surprised that you didn’t mention the Frankenstein scene! It starts off normally enough, with Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, and a mad scientist (possibly Dr. Frankenstein himself), overseeing the creation of a new monster. But then, lightning flashes as the ceiling above you disappears, revealing Frankenstein’s Monster attacking a young woman, her screams echoing as the creature throws her down towards the boat, before fading into black!
I live in PA, so knoebles has been a go-to for most of my life. I love seeing them featured in these lists, and especially the haunted mansion because although I’ve been there countless times, I’ve never gone through with my eyes open the whole time 😂 I also close my ears, both at the same time because it gets too scary for me lol
In 2001, a year after Wicked Witch's Haunt (Phantom Fantasia) closed, a Fabbri Mega Drop TowerDetonator now Detonator Bombs Away opened as the world's most forceful drop tower and still holds the record today! Who knew that an Angry Birds themed drop tower located in the kids area of Thorpe Park could reach 5.5 Gs!
I’ve been on the ride in Oakwood before it was closed down. It’s always creeped me out but it never smelt and the bathtub picture shown, although it was in the ride, that particular picture was taken when the ride was shut and the animatronics had been abandoned
Hollywood Tour looks like it could of used a rehaul considering that those sharks look more burned up then the burned up Jaws at the end of the Jaws ride XD
As someone who's been on the Knobels Haunted Mansion twice so far I can attest to it having quite a few surprises for an old school dark ride and I mean that in a good way. :)
Thank you for including Thorpe Park and Phantom Fantasia! It was such a fantastic and detailed ride. I went on it when it was ‘Wicked Witches Haunt’. The scariest part for me though was probably the witch animatronic sitting above the doorway that moved and cackled! She really scared me and made me not want to go in! I’m glad I did in the end though as the ride was destroyed by fire and greatly missed, even 21 years later.
Um...for #7, I must admit, I’m using Google Translate (so take it with a grain of salt), but I got that “Krake” means ‘Kraken’ in German, and ‘Octopus’ is “Tintenfisch”. Again, I’m using Google Translate, so I could be wrong, but that makes a lot more sense since...ya know...it’s a kraken on the ride, and not just an octopus.
You know the reason why brer rabbit ride have so yucky smell is because the robots themself are not take extra care, the important thing is to take extra care of the robbots then they smell so sweet that make you feel like in the medow full of flowers. If you know sweetest smelling dark ride then answer right now
I've been on "Die Krake" It's really fun.. I screamed my ass off when we dropped xD It's over before you realise.. Its still fun tho I've never been on colossos.. Too terrified xD
Due to my recently discovered Megalophobia, I don't think I should visit theme parks in Germany 😅 Give me submerged or dark n spooky but rushing through any giant thing's mouth is a No from me!
The things is here in Germany, we aparently don't have many roller coaster were youre going into a big mouth or similar. The most roller coaster are with a huge height like the colossos without the fire thing or the Flug der Dämonen in Heide Park Soltau. I never was in many of them even though I live close to the Heide Park bc of my fear of heights . Greetings from Northern Germany 😊 Sry for the bad grammar
Don't worry, you should be safe in Phantasialand. There are tons of rides where you DON'T go through anybody's mouth. I would only stay away if you're scared of the Dutch. For some reason, the Dutch love that park and come over to visit it in great numbers...
The Lady vampire in the coffin looks like Morticia Addams and The Krake octopus mouth looks like The Worm from Men In Black 2❤️💜 And Hollywood Tour is like a mix of Disney World and Universal Orlando❤️
Too bad they changed the skeleton room and took out the car that went with truck. You know that dumb truck is coming but it’s still the worst scare on it.
People with submechanaphobia must be terrified by Dragon Falls at Chesington World of Adventures in the UK, a water ride where you go into a massive dragons mouths

Thank you for including Knoebels! I just wish they never changed the skeleton room.
The Hollywood Tour is amazing! But yes its definetly fear inducing. Greetings from Germany :)
WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION THAT YALL MADE ANOTHER VID I WAS S O O O EXCITED! My little cousin and I watch your videos together!! ❤️
Love your videos. Always amazing
Me: *hears the background music at the beginning of the video*
Also me: Ah, I see that you are cultured individuals!
We can’t wait for April 30th! Yes that segment was terrifying, but we decided to cut it out due to time constraints 😊
I love these videos even though they freak me out and give me chills lol
I live in PA, so knoebles has been a go-to for most of my life. I love seeing them featured in these lists, and especially the haunted mansion because although I’ve been there countless times, I’ve never gone through with my eyes open the whole time 😂 I also close my ears, both at the same time because it gets too scary for me lol
These horrify me but I can't stop watching keep up the good work guys :)
@Jase Wirey lol, I said it never smelt though ✌🏻
Should check out the old Sea World Australia Bermuda Triangle, it was a themed indoor flume ride. Hella creepy aliens and stuff
As a person with megalophobia some of these really scared me 😰
Best video ever! ALSO I HAVE A FEAR OF SPIDERS!!!!! TwT
I always like visiting Hollywood Tour when visiting Phantasialand. Its not a popular ride but I find it relaxing :P
The last one got my submechanophobia off the charts
I love these videos.
Thanks for watching!
Some of the rabbits on Brer Rabbit’s look… so dead inside.
Today we have many german coasters. I like That :D
These rides are so interesting
PLEASE do more videos like these!!
At least Hollywood Tour looks better than Superstar Limo XD
Really, the Lavender Town theme? Nice lmao
Really sells the theme of this video
Um...for #7, I must admit, I’m using Google Translate (so take it with a grain of salt), but I got that “Krake” means ‘Kraken’ in German, and ‘Octopus’ is “Tintenfisch”. Again, I’m using Google Translate, so I could be wrong, but that makes a lot more sense since...ya know...it’s a kraken on the ride, and not just an octopus.
Didn’t see a lot of anything submechanophobia but it’s still interesting so I like it
Thank you! Most of them have some Submechanophobia or a megalophobia aspect, even horror cave
Just got outta hospital and came straight here to watch this!! 💕
Submechanophobia be damned, I love this channel!! Time to get SPOOKED!
Thank you so much! We hope you’re feeling better! 🦆💖
Me too!
Same ✋🏻❤️
Thank you for this! Really spotlighted out there attractions that give that scary feel as the ones constantly shown in videos
I hear Lavandee town in the background and it FITS!!! I LOVE IT
Didn't even see your comment, nor have I been a Pokemon fan for that long, yet I recognized it, as well.
@@catluvr2 it was a perfectly thematic choice I must say BTW Love your pfp
You know the reason why brer rabbit ride have so yucky smell is because the robots themself are not take extra care, the important thing is to take extra care of the robbots then they smell so sweet that make you feel like in the medow full of flowers. If you know sweetest smelling dark ride then answer right now
What a very interesting video!
Damn that statue they put on Colossus is so fucking badass
These phobias are so intresting
I've been on "Die Krake"
It's really fun.. I screamed my ass off when we dropped xD
It's over before you realise.. Its still fun tho
I've never been on colossos.. Too terrified xD
Idea for a future video:
The History of Power Rangers animatronics.
Due to my recently discovered Megalophobia, I don't think I should visit theme parks in Germany 😅
Give me submerged or dark n spooky but rushing through any giant thing's mouth is a No from me!
Greetings from Northern Germany 😊
Sry for the bad grammar
Don't worry, you should be safe in Phantasialand. There are tons of rides where you DON'T go through anybody's mouth. I would only stay away if you're scared of the Dutch. For some reason, the Dutch love that park and come over to visit it in great numbers...
Where’s the new Jurassic World ride? That finale is nightmare fuel waiting to happen
The Lady vampire in the coffin looks like Morticia Addams and
The Krake octopus mouth looks like The Worm from Men In Black 2❤️💜
And Hollywood Tour is like a mix of Disney World and Universal Orlando❤️
@12:56 in the past there was a scence with The Birds, Birds atack a woman and she screams the hole time
I ride the Haunted House at Knoebels every year and the truck always gets me.
Too bad they changed the skeleton room and took out the car that went with truck. You know that dumb truck is coming but it’s still the worst scare on it.
The last one was creepy as hell now I'm gonna have to grab a sword and shield for that one.
Great video. Monsters mansion at Six Flags GA came to mind. I thought it was a 👶 ride and I was wrong lol
I love the Hollywood Tour
2nd like never clicked so fast I swear😆
One of my ride trough the jaws scene on Hollywood Tour was in full darkness and nothing moved, it felt very weird.
1:00 ahhhhhh 😨
Nice u took heide park on the list its an amazing park
People with submechanaphobia must be terrified by Dragon Falls at Chesington World of Adventures in the UK, a water ride where you go into a massive dragons mouths
