@@rohanahlawat5809 Tosin has said he likes all type of music (he even said he listens to pop music like Rihanna) so I highly doubt that he would "hate" it
I love AAL as much as anyone but this music is still somewhat crude compared to famous orchestral composers. John Williams even now makes so much more interesting stuff for orchestra
Gerardo Reyes It's actually not a matter of opinion. Not completely anyway. Harmonically speaking the composers of the 20th century like Stravinsky, Bartok, Debussy and Ravel implemented very unusual harmonic ideas, even by today's standards. Key changes in just a matter of seconds in one movement of a piece, no pure major or minor tonality, instead they used Polytonality. Conjoining a major chord, with a minor chord or a dominant chord, combining melodies from two different key signatures, etc. Even in the rhythm department, Stravinsky's Le Sacre, Pieces for String Quartet, and Bartok's String Quartets among others have rhythms just as complicated as any AAL composition. There's no accounting for taste obviously and it's fine to like them more but it's most likely a fact that had this song been written in musical notation paper and presented to most of those guys, they wouldn't be that impressed, which is what was being discussed.
Ľubomír Kompiš Remember amazed =/= surprised. I think he was voicing his 'amazement' at the arrangement. Animals as leaders wrote the song, but transposition is more than a copy/paste job.
God damn... that bridge... Synthesized or not, great work. Yes, a real orchestra would have been amazing, but this is absolutely fantastic; a wonderful recreation of a masterpiece.
This is probably the best orchestral cover of a metal song I've heard. Usually the orchestra goes off on a tangent with their interpretations of the piece, sometimes to the point to when it's unrecognisable, but this sounds spot on.
Lovely! The clarity makes this tune easier to dissect mentally and figure out how it works. Animals as Leaders tunes are always such beautiful puzzles that take a few listens to solve.
TRULY AWESOME....great arrangement, of the mighty "CAFO", which I have had the distinct PRIVILEGE of witnessing in person, earlier this year in Poughkeepsie N.Y. Long live Tosin Abasi, the KING of all new shred guitar!
This is actually really well orchestrated... love the bass drum rolls, very well placed. As for the playability.... the first violin part in the main riff would be ridiculous and probably unplayable on the instrument, I think that kind of sostinuto pattern would be better placed in the upper winds or on piano. You might find success splitting it up between multiple instrument, like having the second violins playing the lower notes and having the first violins playing the upper notes.
totally blown away! i liked the interpretation particularly because it will suit an orchestra quite well. the subtle alterations/additions made enhance its credibility as an orchestral piece.
get a real orchestra to play this!! i mean its great because it is great but it would brilliant if a full orchestra played it. Or just more dynamic contrast. sounds good though.
+Lorenzo Rizzardi some of the parts are actually pretty utopic like the tapping riff that constantly moves between cellos and violins. for the notes to complement each other like that and for it still to be rhythmically understandable is reeeally hard. just saying the arrangement would probably need to be adapted a little in order to make it realistic. also not shure about the sweeps on violin/harp, seems really hard to play. definitely would take a world class orchestra to do this right.
I honestly doubt it, not without some significant changes to this arrangement, a lot of this arrangement is either very difficult, or simply not possible. Those huge staccato rhythms from the brass would require iron lungs, the notes are very low and sound ffff in dynamics, which may or may not be physically possible. Coupled with the speed and how staccato the notes are, I doubt many players would be able to play it anywhere near clean enough to sound right, and it would be so loud nothing else would be heard over them. Those harp arpeggios may pose a problem too, since while it may not be too difficult in terms of technique, the thing with harps is that in order to change key you need to manually raise and lower individual notes of a scale with pedals, and since a lot of those runs have lots of modulations, there may or may not be enough time to switch keys. I'm not sure how easy it would be for a violinist to play that main arpeggio, as what works for a guitar tuned in 4ths may not be so idiomatic for a violin tuned in fifths (though it's still nothing compared to a Paganini caprice I'm sure). But even all that aside, a lot of these rhythms are far beyond what most orchestras are comfortable with, so expect it to take plenty of takes and plenty of money, and even then it won't be anywhere near as clean as precise as this video.
@@anonym0usplatypus yeah the brass may be doable, but the biggest issue is with volume, even if those string parts were possible, you'd never hear it over the brass.
@@JoshuaConnorMusic also true. Listen to the end of Ein Heldenleiben. First of all its badass and its worth. Second of all the Cellos are working so damn hard and no one can hear them cause the brass are playing so loud and its the exact same kind of issue.
