    FINALLY, another civilized human who showers AM and PM! I can somewhat understand not doing it in the morning, if you're the type that doesn't sweat much at night. But I will never understand how people go through the whole day, especially summer, and go to bed all sweaty like that. Gross!

      Ikr!? I've worked with a girl who said she only showers once a week. 🤢 she smelt so bad, the manager had to tell her to shower every day or she'll be fired. We work in the medical field so showers everyday is a must.

    Chicken and mayo is phenomenal, no matter the type. Grilled, southern fried, asian fried, chicken salad. One of my comfort foods is a fried cutlet on a burger bun with lettuce tomato mayo. So simple and so comfort.

    Scooty Puff Jr. theme song sung by Kyde is everything. Eric playing the piano, not far behind. Thought we were going to hear a rendition of Bill Withers “Lean On Me”, with the opening chords. Another fun video. Thanks for posting.

    Lucky Pierrot Shōwa branch. The ramen restaurant is Hakodate Shio Ramen Shinano. Remeber, Eric, bear spray does not work like bug spray! The US Forest Service had to issue a bulletin because some people were using bear spray like bug spray! Shin-Hakodate restaurant is ONJIKI NIWAMOTO Hokuto Eki-mae.

    I had always wanted to try camping. Many years ago, I finally had the opportunity with some friends. It rained the entire time. I mean POURING rain. That was bad enough. But the worst part was that the couple we went with got into a huge argument. I have no idea why. I just remember them at a distance from the tents, arguing. We ended up all going home. Talk about a total fail!

    • @Yesica1993
      @Yesica1993 8 месяцев назад

      Addendum: I don't remember much about that time, it was so long ago. But I'm assuming there was some sort of showering facility available, otherwise I would never have agreed to go. I am also "finicky" about taking 2 showers a day! It doesn't need to be fancy. A bucket hanging from a tree is fine. I just need SOMETHING. I know there are people that don't mind going a couple of days without any shower. If that works for them, great. But that is not me!

      When you camp a lot you are usually prepared for it with the right gear, but if you are just trying it out with not that much gear you should really cancel if the weather is going to be bad.

    Great series, this feels like a spiritual successor to the epic hitchhiking trip, right down to the Calorie Mate! Btw I took the Hokkaido shinkansen back in 2016 when it just opened, and I booked for a two-night stay in Hakodate. I was utterly confused when I got out of the shinkansen and saw only farm land around haha

    Watching this after finishing the latest UWU and the comments were understandably turned off on that one. Just wanted to say I think it's a funny coincidence that I recently got to pet a camel for the first time! He was so dusty. He was super gentle and sweet and started to fall asleep while I was petting him. Camels are rad.

    Wide roads are probably for snow plows. You need space for the snow drifts they produce or it becomes difficult to navigate, especially given there's no "front lawns" like in North America where that would be a buffer zone for excessive snow.

    Get a trailer for Scooty... and keep the nards clean and dry at all times. EDIT - for a change of pace they should have a bass instead of a piano in buildings like that. Then you could lay down a jam.

    30:26 Platform tickets!? I didn't know that there was such a things I used to have a rail pass for each of my trips to Japan, but with the recent price increases, I don't think they will be worth it for future trips. Good to know I can just buy a ticket for a platform if I ever want to check out a specific train. I guess I'll have to grind a little to level-up on my densha-otaku before that. 😉
