It's not as bad as the critics first proclaimed, but not as good as the revisionist are now claiming. It's technically brilliant, and cerebral, as is usual with Kubrick, but lacks that human emotion... heart... that great films have as well.
Top 5: 5. Full metal Jacket - (Very interesting and impressive. I see this film as 3 parts as opposed to the usual two, the 1st and 3rd parts being some of the most perfect filmmaking I've ever seen). 4. Dr Strangelove - (Extremely funny and smart, and still scarily relevant). 3. Barry Lyndon - (The fact that this film isn't more widely known puzzles me, beautiful). 2. A Clockwork Orange - (No film has made me question myself/my belief's as much as this, just so memorable. Also quite funny, something that isn't really mentioned a lot). 1. 2001: a Space Odyssey - (Truly epic, speaks to the entire human race, my favourite film). (The Shining does come close to beating FMJ, on a different day it may).
Here’s my ranking of Stanley Kubrick’s movies(I haven’t seen all of his films) 1. Clockwork Orange 2. The Shining 3. Full Metal Jacket 4. Eyes Wide Shut 5. Barry Lyndon 6. 2001 Space Odyssey
1 - 2001: a space odyssey 2 - A Clockwrok Orange 3 - Barry Lyndon 4 - Shining 5 - Eyes Wide Shut 6 - Path of Glory 7 - Full Metal Jacket 8 - Dr. Strangelove 9 - Lolita
After completing my ranking I can finally compare our lists! I think give or take a couple (justice for Full Metal Jacket 😭) we’re reasonably similar. One of my favourite videos of yours!
My Kubrick ranking (from what I've seen) 7. Dr. Strangelove (the satire doesn't appeal to me sadly) 6. A Clockwork Orange (I respect the craft, but I can't connect with its pretentious extremes) 5. 2001 (another film where I love the visuals, but can't get past its pretentiousness) 4. Paths of Glory (need to rewatch this one again, but I thought it was alright years ago when I first watched it) 3. Spartacus (had a lot of fun with this one despite being Kubrick's sole "for hire project") 2. Barry Lyndon (was surprisingly engrossed by this one and was visually blown away) 1. The Shining (Kubrick's true masterpiece and one of my favorite horror films)
The first ranking I posted is super outdated and I keep coming back to this video because it's so good so here's my updated ranking 12. Fear and Desire 11. Spartacus 10. Killer's Kiss 9. Dr. Strangelove 8. Lolita 7. The Killing 6. The Shining 5. Paths of Glory 4. A Clockwork Orange 3. Full Metal Jacket 2. Barry Lyndon 1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
I don't know which one I like most, but Eyes Wide Shut is the only Kubrick movie I really loved the first time I saw it. I love the others now, but I needed to see them a few times before I got to that stage.

Great video, very very very iconic films...but it’s sad that we don’t hear his name passed around near as much as Stephen Spielberg or George Lucas for example.
You cant deny the full circle of a clockwork orange(alex tortures pepole for plesure then he is tortured for '' good" and then he is tortured for his victims'plesure It just shows you in a amazing strange way humanity and the fact that we can't escape the '' a tooth for a tooth an eye for an eye" saying) and the deep social mesage just tops it all. I know it's based on a book but one of the greatest films ever put on screen is The Godfather wich is also on a book and I think A clockwork orange is the greatest Kubrick film and my favorite of any film. The way he blends funny and disturbing and revenge and justice is just marvelous. I dont want to sound like im opsesed with a movie in wich there is rape and murder but there are plenty of disturbing films out there that consist of no mesage but this one is abstract colerful but yet dreadful (so he really nailed the future huh) It a popular but under apreciated movie unlike the very overthought shining.
