Great video. It’s possible that’s a shared coolant reservoir for the battery and HV electronics/motor like in the Model 3. The Model S has always had the ability to mix coolant between the battery and electronics/motor (to harvest heat from the drive system on cold days in order to warm the battery), but it seems like Tesla has taken it further, with a common reservoir and radiator. And that squishy black thing under the reservoir is the AC compressor wrapped in a sound deadening cocoon. There’s also a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger that allows the car to tap into the AC system in order cool the battery on hot days. GM does the same thing with their EVs and it’s a great way to keep the battery comfortable for long life. Take note, Nissan....
Great explanation - HEPA filter is passive. Air inlet is high up. Frankly, I would exchange frunk space for a more accessible space for the equipment under the hood. I'm surprised wheel well is open to the equipment bay. They could easily enclose the equipment bay to keep dirt out.
The Heat Exchanger(Condenser). The Heat Exchanger condenses high-pressure vapor(freon) into a high-pressure liquid, then transfers that high-pressure liquid through the outlet of the condenser to the Evaporator.
Followup suggestion: Could you temporarily install the bio defense mode filter in the car, to see if you get an upgrade to the cabin air? Looks like the frunk air is going to naturally flow in and pass over the filter even without a button for it.
Did you buy the hepa filter? Why wasn't it in? Was there a smaller filter when you bought the car? I too did not pay the $5k for the hepa filter and a few other minor things and plan to add the hepa filter. Thanks for the video!
I laughed when he talked about the crumple zone. That's a standard thing in all cars, nothing special and yet he describes it as something space age and super cool. LOL
Void the warranty HAHAHAHA save your comments ! just love how simple mechanics are coming with Tesla, I doubt anyone can have warranty issues doing cosmetic maintenance
Giving your Tesla a full anti corrosion treatment can potentially void your warranty. That is what we have been told by Tesla Denmark. Allegedly a Danish Model S owner gave his car a full anti corrosion treatment and it had a rather negative effect on certain electronics/switches etc. Tesla did not cover in this case.
One simple rule: When a human being is talking do not EVER add background music. And I have to say I find the choice of background music on this video particularly unbearable.
I completely disagree. Background music (as long as their are not lyrics and it’s very subtle in terms of volume), adds to the presentation quality. I thought it was perfectly fine.
This is just blatantly wrong. Look at MKBHD’s videos. As long as it’s done right and not too loud or obnoxious, background music can be a great addition to a video, even when someone is talking.
Watched mkbhd "Driving a Tesla Model 3! [Auto Focus Ep. 1]" video. For almost all of the video when Marques Brownlee was TALKING there was NO BACKGROUND MUSIC!
I pray for the families in Toronto who were the victims of the vicious battering attack yesterday.

Good job on the Frunk maintenance video.
Look at how mush snow is still around when it is almost May! Canadians, you hang tough!
THANK YOU as more education on prevention helps keep the cost lower long term and we can always go back and review.. Excellent.
Agree with comments on music; on during speed up only. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Rich Rebuilds level one!

+1 for background music ! It's great
I agree. Do music in sped up mode not in regular speed with talking

Thanks for the video. Very informative.
Nice tech video! Great presentation.

Thanks for the video. Can you provide links to some of the products you used for anti-corrosion and cleaning?

Where is the air suspension compressor? I can’t find it and there is no any picture of the location anywhere…
What is the length of the shruts? I plan to find one that is stronger.
Great vid.
Do the M3!
Ken,
Great video. Do yourself a favor an wear safety glasses when spraying automotive products. If it splashed back into your eye, you'd be hurting.
Good video to repair my tesla or change my 12v battery
Why do you need a 12 volt battery if you have a DC to DC converter?
Great video. Note: background music is ALWAYS irritating, never adds to the presentation.

I forgot to add - I love the videos (just not the background music).

Canadian dad on Eurodance is a bit of an odd mix to be honest. ...what about twerking daddy?!
There goes the warran......nevermind lol
