Just bought my 1st brompton (used of course) and as a bike nerd started inspecting for minor inperfections. My bromrton appears to be 2019 m6l moded with rack and original easy wheels are trashed - they rub, wobble and on non ideal surface they cause susbention block and rack to rub against ground, so I`ve ordered these litepro wheels with extending axle to further improve clearance and thank you for addressing these issues, I`ll look for those and may glue these "tires" to wheels to prevent this issue.
Great video as always. I dont agree that the play in the FD-7 is really an issue once I’m on the bike. I’ve found that they are rock solid at the end of that play when I am putting power down. The Brompton pedal on the other hand I have found to flex more and the folding side has developed a click when I put power down. If anything the issue was the fd7 is that they down fold down to as short as they ought to I’m still looking to replace the FD-7 though with something foldable with a bit more grip if you have any suggestions?
The funny thing is the fd7s on the B75 seem ok! Yes the Brompton pedal is worse on the soft side but better on the other, the best I have found really are the super light pedals. The B75 had fixed pedals for ages, maybe I’ll try fixed pedals again!
The Litepro small wheels have them for 2 years, used them quite often, never had one problem with. I would say they are not bad at all, plus they look cooler than the original ones. My opinion! Cheers and congratz for your video excellently explained! 👏
@@NottinghamshireMadness ok. Maybe it depends a bit on the surface the bike is pushed, I don't know. But surely the original ones are sturdy and never heard anyone complaining about them. So maybe your point is valid. ;-)
Thanks, yes I almost have a full outfit with orange coat lining the hat a snood and cycle for good bag that has yet to appear! Just wait for the day I have orange and blue odd socks, when I do it will be just for you lol
I hope you feel better now, after removing those parts, one question would glueing the rubber tires with Bison kit on the aluminum Litepro wheels not have solved the problem?
Correct call on the pedals. The Brompton stock pedals are low end and one of the first things to be pitched overboard. I did not buy the folding MKS but rather a platform MKS Ezy Superior. This has little spikes that keep one's shoes in place and can be removed quickly from the crank by rotating a keeper ring on the pedal shaft. Buy one of the little high-strength magnets with holes to place in your rear triangle for the pedal storage. You remove the pedal you would normally fold, insert the shaft into the magnet, fold the bike and you are good to go.
I laughed as I watched this, thinking yep, got them, yep, got them too> I'm off to Decathlon soon to get a " Riverside " fabric handlebar pouch. £6.99. I have one on my other Brommie but am going to splash the cash and get another instead of swapping it between bikes. The FB100 frame bag looks like it might be useful so I'll take a look while I'm there. Thanks for the channel, informative and entertaining👍
The one thing i keep telling people is that Brompton parts are made for durability- not sure about the T-line and P-line but so far my P-line is as good as my C-line bikes
I was an early Monkii user and ditched mine ages ago now use a stem bag so much more versatile 👍, Sadly I’ve got those wheels but no issues as yet … As for the pedals i junk the oe ones straight away and fit B75 flats😊
I have the same pedals I have on my folding E bike thinking they were quality as they are made in Japan I too noticed some play in the folding mechanism but though it was designed like that but now not so sure...
@@NottinghamshireMadnessBut you don't look as cool as you do on a brompton! That's why it was in the news today as being a target of the moped gangs! Now I can be proud I have something worthy of stealing!
The whole market for these weird wheels, is that the brompton ones are junk. Can't the just put some bearings on and give everyone a better experience?
When I bought my Top bike in 2019, during high Covid19, for the saved Vacation Money, I found the small original wheels "mostly useless" on anything but a totally flat surface, and bought a larger size wheels. But I like the much more smart looks of the unoriginal wheels, as also my golden tensioner, and now has 10 cm wheels, with no rack, but a superlight, carbon tube extender, making it a Tank! You must have been unlucky to find badly made wheels? I'm sure there are many better versions also? Finn. Denmark
Thanks for your perspective on these accessories. I've had no problems with the easy wheels, but then I only use them to push the bike under my desk. I agree with you on the brompton pedals in the the folding one has flex, so I put regular pedals on and the bottle cage , well I dont do great mileage to warrant one and usually stop off at a coffee shop when needed. Do you have any helmets you would advise us to avoid.
@@NottinghamshireMadness Honestly, and so do I. At first I had no idea for what use I had the low gears, of my 6, til I met an absurd hill on the Danish Island of Bornholm, and had to walk on top, to get up! But gears so low that I'm easily able to walk faster than that, I do find is pure "nonsense" (Being overtaken by people walking, while I desperately try to keep up a "riding speed" on my bike, must be at least funny to look at?)! And for the few times I have even met such one Step Hill, it is a total waste of money and - weight to add an extra ring! Finn. Denmark
Instead of a "Monkey Cage", I have two Velcro straps with a bolt hole, for a lightweight cage, if wanted. Bought from the largest Producers of Accessories for a Brompton, folding bike: China (+Taiwan and Korea)! I have also added a lot of titanium parts bought from there. All loose bolts, nuts and parts, as an "axle" for the front wheel, are now from titanium! Also a carbon and aluminum set of of clamps for my mudguards! The original ones, even on a Superlight, with original titanium stays, must be made from "Uranium"? Finn. Denmark

You have me chuckling, partly because of your delivery and because I can identify with your video:)
Thank you

Yes they look cooler but I travel with the bike folded and find the tires pop off or get dislodged

This was really useful info! It's good to know what to avoid to minimise buyers remorse. Ps liking the hat in easy jet orange

Good idea, I did wonder about glueing them I’ll look at Bison, certainly feel better for getting shut off the pedals and bottle cage!

I came back from London yesterday with a pr of Brompton supper lights pedals for the B-75, video soon. Your message was perfectly timed!

Cool and thank you for watching and your comment
Never see you use this bike before 👌 cheers
It’s the long haul travel Brompton, like yours it has dynamo lights, it also looks really cool with the Carradice bags fitted
Your recent buy, the £20 bike makes me think. You could buy 5 £20 bikes for those accessories to put it in perspective.
I look at my lineup of junk bikes some of which were free and think, they all do the same thing!

when is the 12 speed review?!
I’ve had 12 speeds for years. It’s really just a double chain-set, people always laughed at it
