I showed my husband this video because he will be home with our newborn a lot and he is so excited to try baby wearing. He says you look like a Jedi as you tie the wrap!
Thank you for such a well-organized, edited, and comprehensive video! These 20 minutes saved me hours of reading/research/browsing other videos on all of the options out there. Thanks to you, I now know where to begin!
I had a friend who was a natural mother similar to you. She home birthed her 8 children, and Taught the at home. She used wraps of all kind. But she wasn’t like you at all....because her and her husband divorced after 20 years! I was devastated! You are a joy to watch, and I appreciate all you do as a wife and mother. You are a great example to many mothers! Have a great great w/ your family
My one month old don’t want me to put him down at all, that’s what brought me here so I can able to do other household chores , I’m so glad you make this video for other who doesn’t know about it thanks so much ❣️
I was a nanny for two years and could NEVER figure out a baby wrap and your videos literally made all the wrapping make sense and right when my daughter is too big for them now 🤣🤣
Thank you for addressing the safety concerns right in the beginning of the video. I've watched dozens of videos about various baby carriers and you are the first person to have specifically to offer a warning a couple of best practices when carrying a baby. I didn't realize the rule about being able to kiss their head, but I'm really glad you mentioned that.
Thank you for sharing the pros and cons of the different wraps!💛 I used the Solly wrap with my second baby and loved it. The lightweight fabric is perfect since I tend to overheat really easily. Once baby is too heavy for the wrap, I switch to my structured Ergo carrier.
I am 2nd time mom, 10yrs age gap, and hands on to him now unlike my first born, Your vids helping me a lot, Actually, I thought I can use any blankets to wrap, and after I watched ur vids there's a lot! Now, I am searching Knit wrap online shopping app .. thank uStay safe, watching from Philippines
Just wanted to say I used the k’tan with my first daughter (based the size on my shirt size) and I was able to use comfortably from birth to almost two years old. I found it stretched with their wait but the extra sash allowed you to tighten it as you needed. So it’s sized more for the fit on you then the baby, and I found it a great option, especially on the go.
And YES! I live in a dusty kinda country with a lot of dirt roads and the long tails with wraps get so dirty when I wrap it. Just impossible! The ktan was a breeze and stayed so clean AND I can put it on in like 2 or 3 minutes
Very helpful! With my first baby I used a Baby K'tan when he was a newborn. With my second baby I tried to skip a stretchy wrap and go straight for a soft structured carrier. But I realized that a wrap really is a newborn essential! 💜 Heidi
Yes I used the baby k’tan for my first two kids as well as moby. The moby was great once I got the hang of it but it wasn’t good for out and about because the fabric was so long it was hard to do without it touching the ground and possibly getting dirty when in public. I am pregnant with my 3rd and it’s been a few years so I’m hoping to try a ring sling but have the trusty k’tans on hand if I decide that works better.
One of the cons for the mai tai could also be a pro in some instances - you said you can't take the baby out without taking the wrap off, but you could use that to your advantage in social situations where you don't want people passing your baby around or being held by too many different people
I have 5 and have worn all of mine as well. We have such different babywearing styles! I started with the Moby and quickly learned it wasnt for me. I am a huge fan of ring slings and the Ergo for longer journeys, especially outdoors for farm chores. I also love my Mei Tai.
Me too! Started with the Moby and for all my June/July-born babies (and no AC!) it was brutal. Switched to the Ergo and never looked back. Although I wish I could have tried one of the beautiful woven wraps because they seem so versatile and lovely!
In the early to mid 70's, I used an old school Geri carrier which was front worn rather than back pack style. I appreciated more after my second child came along as having to juggle care of two was made less frantic when I could have both hands free. As well as just having my children so close for mutual bonding and comfort. While I didn't use any of the styles you demonstrate ,I believe strongly that their use is beneficial in so many different areas, the least being simple practicality. Bravo you for recognizing and embracing your motherhood!
I have a JePortMonBebe wrap with my first 2, it's super thick, stretchy and heavy and I have never got on with it. After watching your videos I have bought a second hand solly wrap for my now 3 week old. I have used it for the last 2 weeks every day and it's so good, a million times better and my son loves it.
I loved baby wearing. Boba was my choice for stretchy wrap and structured carrier. My friend did a bunch of their photography, so she introduced me to them. I also loved my woven wraps. They’re so supportive and beautiful. I still have one even though my youngest is 8! I just can’t quite give it away.
My daughter was born 30 May. I loved the solly for the first 3 months. It is expensive, especially taking into account they don't carry a heavier baby. However, it was sooo perfect for summmer months. Me and baby were never too hot and I just wore it all the time during the day. I just didn't buy a second solly purely for price (I'd wash it at night and it would be dry in the morning). From 4 months old until now I've using the boba and loving it.
First time mom here! Thanks for the video and explanations! Very helpful. The only other thing though, that struck me is the babies inability to be put down without screaming his head off when he's not being worn. That's freaking me out a bit. I think I'll do more research before I decide to do the whole wearing the baby thing! Thanks for sharing!
Comprehensive video and I appreciated the pros/cons. Will recommend this video to anyone interested in wraps. My wife and I have a six week old and we purchased a bjorn, but we’re interesting in something more comfortable/snug/lightweight. I think the knit wrap is what we’re looking for.
This is by far the best video I’ve seen on this subject - I wish it existed a year ago when I was trying to figure all this out! Would you consider doing a how-to video for carrying toddlers/ back carries in the woven and mai tie wraps? Thanks for the wonderful video, you and Daniel are so beautiful together!
Thank you very much for a great explanation and thanks to you precious patient baby who sacrificed his comfort for the sake of this video made for us☺️
This video is SO helpful, thank you! I really like that you model how to tie each one and give specific pros and cons for knit vs woven and also for each individual type. I am pregnant with my second baby and I have a toddler, I didn't do too much babywearing with my now 20-month-old because I was intimidated by the wrap types- we have Moby, sling, baby bjorn, and an ergo baby but I feel ready to try babywearing on our little guy (due May 2020). Thank you again for this video! :)
Awesome product and beautiful mom and babies.🥰 I am sharing this to my daughter in law. It's her first baby❤. She is due any time.🙌 She's only 18 years old. So the information you share here is going to be very helpful for her.😇😇😇 Thank you very much for sharing💞
I have a woven, mei tai, ring sling and a rebozo. I used to have a knit, but my rebozo is much like it-and not near the amount of fabric, but for my small frame it's still plenty. I've been baby wearing for about 10 years too.. My boys haven't been big fans of being carried past 3 months, but I still love it. My woven and mei tai are both DIY. My knit was also DIY and it just didn't feel like babe was secure anymore so I quit using it. I just got the rebozo a few years and absolutely LOVE the versatility. I used it during pregnancy and labor in my last pregnancy, a shawl, a nursing cover, carried babe when he was tiny. I'm still trying to figure out the ring sling. LOL I just haven't been able to feel like I can babe secure in it.. It stays in the car as an "emergency" wrap.. But that's it.
I'm on my 3rd baby and have wrapped with each one. I've found that I love a knit wrap until they are confidently holding their head up to look around, then I like the linen ring slings and as soon as I can back carry, those Girasol woven wraps are amazing 😍 so many awesome baby wearing options for parents
The moby was my 2nd carrier and wayyy to hot. I have ergos, which I like but they tend to hurt my back after awhile. Went to once upon a child after this video and picked up a boba for $14! I am so in love! It isn’t too heavy of a fabric and baby girl just loves it! I’ve also been babywearing my 6 girls on and off for the past 10 years!
I'm so happy I found this video of yours? I have the KeaBabies and just could not follow their tutorial for their wrap for my newborn. Your method is so much easier and my baby is much comfortable. Thank you
Wish I had baby wraps when my babies were babies. I also like the way you also gave safety tips . Back in my day all we had was infant seats and I would carry it room to room of my home because as long as my children could see me they seemed to be more comfortable. Wish I had the wraps . If we did have them in the 70's , I wasn't aware of it. Thank you for sharing
I have also tried Boba, Moby, Keababies, SollyBaby.... I agree with your comparisons of those. Moby is less stretchy--which I didnt like when my baby was smaller, but I actually preferred when my baby got bigger, bc on long walks the fabric would hold up and he wouldnt sag. With the Boba, very stretchy, and while this made it easy to put on & put him in (I made it SUPER tight, then could still put him in it due to the stretchiness), I found that he would start sagging during a long walk. SollyBaby...SO EXPENSIVE but so so beautiful. And yes, much more suitable for smaller babies. I love how breathable it is, though, especially for wearing around the house and feeling like I am not wearing anything extra. (The My Honey wrap--tag on it says SweetBee--is comparable to the SollyBaby in thinness of material and lightweightedness, but WAY more affordable!!) Right now, amazingly, my favorite outside/walk/go-to-the-store wrap is the Keababies. I actually like it better than the Boba right now! But I agree its quite comparable to the Boba wrap. Also extremely affordable, too. I am obsessed with knit wraps. I have tried Acrabros wrap and Jeroray wrap as well, both affordable on Amazon. They are okay but I havent used them as much yet (my new baby is only 2 months old) but I am looking forward to seeing how they compare to the others. Will rank in order from most to least expensive: SollyBaby ($69) Moby & Boba ($40-$60 depending on type) Keababies, Acrabros, My Honey Wrap, Jeroray ($20-$30 depending) Great video. I LOVE KNIT WRAPS
Thank you for sharing. I am having a baby and my last child was 12 yrs ago. I want to wrap her but I don't even know where to start. I used the backpack type of carriers with my first child. This was very helpful
Thank you so much for this video ❤️ I just purchased the boba and can't wait to try it! I have a woven one but the lack of stretch and heavier fabric feel makes it less practical to reach for. Thanks again 😊
My goddaughter is due in 3 weeks and I’m in a wheelchair. I won’t be able to use a pushchair for godmama duty so I’m learning to baby wear with a doll. This is soooo helpful thank you 🙏🏼
Really appriciated this info! I tried wrapping with my last baby and didnt love it but I think I will try a little harder with the next one as I will have a toddler and a new born.
Getting ready for my 4th baby in April and baby wearing for the fourth time. Totally just watching for fun. :) If any moms out there want to know: for quick errands in and out of the car, I love the ring slings. You just throw them over your shoulder and go. The maya is my favorite because it has a large zip pocket at the end big enough for keys, wallet, and a diaper.
Thank you so much, it was so easy to follow and also no need to watch other videos on this subject, the explanation was just spot on detailed. Bless you for it x
Thank you for this video!! I‘m pregnant with our first and a minimalist. I don‘t want to buy multiples of everything, so I think a knit wrap would be great for both me and my husband to use with baby in the early stages. We‘re pretty active people so I hope baby will be ok with being carried 😂❤
Only complaint is that it comes in the original packaging. So everyone knows what it is and could potentially be stolen. Other than that it seems like it’ll be comfortable. I’m currently 5 days away from giving birth and it fits around my belly comfortably. Price wise it’s perfect. Can’t wait to use this with my new little one while chasing my toddler.
I really like that you promote babywearing, since it is the best you can do for your child to wear it close to you! I understand that you love knit wraps with newborns, but in my opinion woven wraps are better for your back and the support of your child's back after they reach a certain weight. I personally think the woven wrap is not as comfortable to you, because you don't wrap it carefully enough. It is very important to tighten strand by strand and that the child sits symmetrically. Also the legs should hang freely (please do research about this, it's not good for the legs to be tucked into the wrap or Mei Tai, that's why good Mei Tais let you adjust the width of the seat). With the woven wrap it's also possible to wear newborns on the back. Actually it's good to wear a baby on your back after it is about 3-4 months old, since it's the time where they want to see more and the weight gets higher. Our body is just not made to carry those weights in the front, since it is not good for our pelvic floor. I think it would be good if you consulted a baby wearing consultant to make another video with updates and more reliable information about ergonomic baby wearing. Sorry if I sound harsh, I normally really love your videos, but as a babywearing consultant, this topic is so important to me and I'm afraid that a lot of people will not carry their baby's right or not at all because it's not comfortable to them. And that would be too sad, so thank you for promoting babywearing I think your doing a good job, just those few things would be important to know for other parents.
In addition to what you said, in my country it's considered a no-go to wear the baby in the front while it's not facing the carrying person. It always seems so common in english speaking countrys especialy within the US. My own legs and hips just hurt while watching it.
@@prbystacywallen8754 I have a few videos on my channel on how to make DIY baby wraps. It can take as little as 60 seconds! Its just the cost of fabric so mine were about $15-$30 each.
Was fun watching this video and the multiple options. I absolutely love the K’Tan! Size is based on Mother, not Baby. This wrap has went from newborn to carrying my two-year old across Europe (even with me walking up the stairs of the Eiffel Tower!). They definitely fit the growing baby and are easy for mother to walk and nurse.
I came across your video trying to find a wrap that I can use, as I have physical limitations. I found this incredibly educational. Thank you for posting this!
Hi Lisa, happy new year ! What a lovely way to snuggle and bond with your baby! I found my baby snuggler with my third baby! She’s now 21 and her younger brother will both graduate college this spring! Oh how I miss those snuggle days. Ahh grandkids( from my oldest son) yeah more snuggles. 😀🍼👍
I was looking at the ktan due to the ease of use but i think i might try the boba now. With my first child i didnt get into baby wearing until he was older so i loved the lilliebaby and kinderpack carrier. This time around i want to try wearing as a newborn. Thanks for this comparison
THANK YOU for your wonderful baby wearing videos! I grew up in the era of "let your baby cry" and "it's good for their lungs" :( We now know that that was NOT good advice. LOVE your channel and podcasts, blog :)
Loving everything about this video, instant subscribe. Thank you for being so straight to the point and patient explaining the many options for this new mom!
I love my baby k’tan, I wish it was a bit more stretchier because I am on the heavier side, but I was able to put my baby girl in it up until about 8 months
Myworldof ASMR AGREED! I travelled across Europe carrying my two year old in the K’Tan:) And the size is based on Mother, not Baby. Hopefully she tries it again with older baby:)
Not sure if anyone mentioned this or not, but I really enjoyed the Boppy carrier. To me it’s the best of both worlds between wraps and traditional carriers with straps and buckles. I know it’s hard to believe, but neither of my boys liked the moby.
Thank you so much for this video, having my baby girl in 4 days & I have 2 other kids I’m sure I’ll benefit from having a baby wrap this time. I went ahead and ordered the boba wrap they always have a 10% off code + free shipping. I paid $38.
My $.02 as an ergo (original) mom of 6: ergo can do all the wovens and wrapps can do on front and back from birth to large toddler. They are easy to nurse in and once baby gets distracted it is easier to nurse in an ergo then not. Lastly an ergo is dad friendly!!!
An Ergo (at least older versions) is not the best choice for a newborn. In Germany babywearing consultants even recommend it only after the child can walk. Since it's too stiff on the back and the knee is not supported from back to back.
I am on baby number 5, I actually have had that unicorn of the baby wearing world; the baby that hates being worn! My 4th LOVED to be held, but never in a carrier. So I just haven’t had arms for the past 2 years LOL. My older three all loved being worn, we shall see about this new baby.
I have been waiting for you to do a video like this and because you didn't, I ended up buying the baby ktan but I wish I could've known that light baby wraps all the ones I've tried were way too hot for me. Anyway, thank you so much for finally doing it, I hope God blesses our family with more kids we only have one, send xoxo
I've tried so many wraps. Moby, Boba, Ring Sling and other structured carriers like the ergo. I've had two babies and they just don't like them. My babies much prefer being down. I so wanted carriers and wraps to work but I've had to give up. Just wanted to share for anyone in the same boat as me. Not all babies like being constantly held.
Thank you for this video! Super helpful! And thank you baby Micah (I hope I spelled his name correctly) for sacrificing his peaceful nap for showing us different kinds of carriers! lol He's such a cute baby.
I was just going to ask about nursing in the carrier and you addressed it 😅 I’ve never been able to figure that out either! SUPER helpful. I have a katan but just used your link to buy a moby because I think the head support looks more comfy. Mine always fights her head out of the katan and I end up holding her head/feeling like I can’t bend over. Mine was born at home on Oct 24th 😊 love following along with your family and super mom tips!!
I really appreciated this because I’m pregnant with baby number five but I’ve never been willing to spend the money to experiment with each kind of carrier. I used the moby wrap but didn’t prefer it (and all that fabric) and ended up using some kind of buckle carrier.
I’ve noticed when you have Daniel tucked in he is often looking towards your left shoulder. Do you need to be sure he spends time the other way for his neck and shoulder flexibility? I’ve never worn a baby before but I imagine it’s valuable for them to experience a variety of positions as long as they are safe.
Then We Cross America she has said in a previous video that she tries to switch which way their heads are facing each time! It’s probably just a coincidence.
This is such an informative video!! Wish it would’ve been around when I had my first. I picked the K’tan, and was able to use the same size from birth-toddlerhood. It does technically say on their box/website that if you’re wearing the correct size, you should be able to use the same size regardless of baby’s size. Not sure if others experienced this in practice, and it could possibly be due to my daughter being a long and lean baby/toddler (22 lbs at 20 months old) but we loved it and had great success with it! My only desire would be to have it in a slightly stretchier fabric. Thanks for the great video!
I just stumbled across this and am giving birth next month. I have both boba and Moby in my registry and was going back and forth on which to buy. I’m so glad I came across this though I almost got Moby....probably would have been to thick for a summer baby in Texas 😂 so thank you!!!
Thanks so much for this video!! I’m gonna go with the boba , I think. If I hadn’t found this video, I may have ended up getting the moby . And I def want stretch
I showed my husband this video because he will be home with our newborn a lot and he is so excited to try baby wearing. He says you look like a Jedi as you tie the wrap!

Back in my day all we had was infant seats and I would carry it room to room of my home because as long as my children could see me they seemed to be more comfortable. Wish I had the wraps . If we did have them in the 70's , I wasn't aware of it. Thank you for sharing
Hands down, one of the best video I have seen on youtube. Thank u for being so amazing and effective !
(The My Honey wrap--tag on it says SweetBee--is comparable to the SollyBaby in thinness of material and lightweightedness, but WAY more affordable!!)
Right now, amazingly, my favorite outside/walk/go-to-the-store wrap is the Keababies.
Will rank in order from most to least expensive:
SollyBaby ($69)
Moby & Boba ($40-$60 depending on type)
Keababies, Acrabros, My Honey Wrap, Jeroray ($20-$30 depending)
Great video. I LOVE KNIT WRAPS
This is so helpful for someone trying to figure out what to get!! Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing. I am having a baby and my last child was 12 yrs ago. I want to wrap her but I don't even know where to start. I used the backpack type of carriers with my first child. This was very helpful
I live baby wearing! I have a Solly, a Mei Tai, and I just bought a ring sling!
This is soooo helpful thank you 🙏🏼
Just ordered a Boba wrap!! Can’t wait to see it, it was in their clearance it’s baby blue with polka dots 😍
Sounds so cute!
Thank you so much!! This video was so soo helpful!!! I appreciate you taking your baby in & out for showing an example I’m sure it was not easy!!
Love it! Thanks Lisa!! Makes me miss the days when my babies would snuggle all day!
Omg you are such a wonderful mama wearing all 6 of your babies. ☀️✌🏼❤️
I used a K’tan for #1 and boba and Bjorn for #2 and loved the boba for the first few months and then the Bjorn for the first year. You are amazing 😘
New subscriber.. I am 4 months pregnant and this video was so informative. Thank you.
You're so welcome
Only complaint is that it comes in the original packaging. So everyone knows what it is and could potentially be stolen. Other than that it seems like it’ll be comfortable. I’m currently 5 days away from giving birth and it fits around my belly comfortably. Price wise it’s perfect. Can’t wait to use this with my new little one while chasing my toddler.
...and baby says: "MOM, enough already!!" 😂 😉
Poor little guy!! Hearing him whimper was so cute but sad
You seem and look so content when wrapped up with Daniel 🥰
You should make a video!
In addition to what you said, in my country it's considered a no-go to wear the baby in the front while it's not facing the carrying person. It always seems so common in english speaking countrys especialy within the US. My own legs and hips just hurt while watching it.
Thank you for this video! Pregnant with my first and this was SUPER helpful!
I’m so glad!
I made my own knit wraps and absolutley loved them!
How could you make your own? I'm hoping for another baby soon & want to try baby wraps (my other kiddo is 8) and I'm clueless and on a budget
@@prbystacywallen8754 I have a few videos on my channel on how to make DIY baby wraps. It can take as little as 60 seconds! Its just the cost of fabric so mine were about $15-$30 each.
One of the best vids on wraps/carriers! 👍
Thanks!
I've only seen a few mamas baby wear, don't know why many more don't use it. It's wonderful!
Thank you for sharing this video! I love hearing all your pros and cons for each wrap!
I came across your video trying to find a wrap that I can use, as I have physical limitations. I found this incredibly educational. Thank you for posting this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this comparison
extremely informative for a new mom-2-be! thank you xoxo
Oh my gosh I LOVE your simple, fresh, farmhouse style. I am inspiredz
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for this! I'm currently looking for a good wrap carrier for my baby due in May and you've made it so easy!
Most informative wrap video ever! Thank you!
I love my baby k’tan, I wish it was a bit more stretchier because I am on the heavier side, but I was able to put my baby girl in it up until about 8 months
Myworldof ASMR AGREED! I travelled across Europe carrying my two year old in the K’Tan:)
And the size is based on Mother, not Baby. Hopefully she tries it again with older baby:)
Good to know I’ve really been wanting the k’tan
You are making me happy I bought the boba ! Soon to be FTM (almost 34 weeks)
just added some of the wraps to my baby registry that I just made yesterday.. this video came in perfect timing for me! Great video :)
Just ordered a Boba. Thank you for all this amazing information!🥰
Not sure if anyone mentioned this or not, but I really enjoyed the Boppy carrier. To me it’s the best of both worlds between wraps and traditional carriers with straps and buckles. I know it’s hard to believe, but neither of my boys liked the moby.
How is the boppy is summer months?
Thank you so much for this video, having my baby girl in 4 days & I have 2 other kids I’m sure I’ll benefit from having a baby wrap this time. I went ahead and ordered the boba wrap they always have a 10% off code + free shipping. I paid $38.
I wish I had of found this earlier! What amazing information in the confusion world of baby wearing!
Thank you so much for breaking down the differences and brands 🙏💖 As a new mom, you’ve made it 10x easier to make up my mind 😆
Glad it was helpful!
This was a great, highly informative video! Thank you for sharing your awesome mama knowledge!
I really appreciated this because I’m pregnant with baby number five but I’ve never been willing to spend the money to experiment with each kind of carrier. I used the moby wrap but didn’t prefer it (and all that fabric) and ended up using some kind of buckle carrier.
Thank you so much I'm definitely getting the boba knit wrap now for my July baby 🤗
Thank you for such an informative blog...I created a wrap for my grandson .... perfect fit...you are my new shelter in bff
My babies definitely had a preference but i tried to switch em up as much as possible.
If you only have them facing one way the muscles on one side will shorten and baby will need physio.
Oh looking back on this is lovely! He is so big now ❤️. I ripped my long wrap (stepped on it 🤦) so for baby #2 I am very thankful for this video!
I'm going to weave my own wrap for when my baby is born.
I just stumbled across this and am giving birth next month. I have both boba and Moby in my registry and was going back and forth on which to buy. I’m so glad I came across this though I almost got Moby....probably would have been to thick for a summer baby in Texas 😂 so thank you!!!
This was a great video, very informative, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Have been looking forward to this video! Thanks so much for your content 💕
Konny baby carrier is best of my life. I highly recommend it to you.
Thanks so much for this video!! I’m gonna go with the boba , I think. If I hadn’t found this video, I may have ended up getting the moby . And I def want stretch
thank you 4 sharing your experiences lisa :)
