I only have harder enemies on, but I managed to beat this at level 15. Veronica died though, and this is what I hate about these kinds of games. That huge XP drop at the end just completely ignores her. I felt really tempted to reset the game so everyone could get the xp, but I also didn't want to fight the boss again and potentially get fully wiped, forcing a 3rd, 4th, or even 5th attempt. I guess a little over 10-20 battles would make up for the lost xp during the boss, but that's a lot of battles to go out of your way to do just to try to catch a character back up.

Can you lower game volume and/or raise your mic volume? It is very difficult to hear you

UPDATE! I am playing DQ11 Difinitive Edition and finally able to change outfits without armor! The Draconian quests are different though so im not sure if it will be easier or harder than when you did it. Just beat the Slayer of The Sands last night on my first try though.
IDo you plan to play again at all?

The Draconian Quests seem to Have Added Super Shypox and Game Over if Hero dies in battle but removed the No Running option. To me I think the new version sounds harder but only time will tell. This will be my first attempt with no armor and I remember the game being super tough even without shypox and with armor

@@purplatypus7405 Hey ! Thanks for the update, I've heard about this Definitive Edition and was pretty excited about it, sadly there's no news about it being ported on PC, which means I will not be able to play :(
I suspect Super Shypox to affect every character, and not only the Hero ? I sometimes took Hero off to get rid of the Shypox in some fights, also that would mean it's 4 times as impactful as before (unless they reduced rate). Not being allowed to lose Hero sounds interesting as well.
I hope they port it to PC, in which case I will play it the very day it is released ! :)

@@exodusshooter ah yes shypox 100% effects everyone in the party no just hero. Losing hero is a pretty big negetive now that I have Sylvando im not sure how much I will use him in boss fights since instant game over sounds lame. So far its been really fun I like how it makes me play the game. As far as I know its only on the switch but honestly if you end up getting one its a really nice switch game.
Looking forward to beating the super final boss with all Quests on. Im going to have to re learn how to grind levels later haha

@@purplatypus7405 Considering I mostly used hero for his physical abilities and defense (parry) and less for his spells or heals... I would say Jade would be a fitting replacement for him if you want to take him out, with a pure spear build into defensive stance (forgot the name or her riposte skill)
Good luck on your run! :D

@@exodusshooter Thats the plan right now. Erik was my go to with X6 damage and a doubling up before a 100% crit chance but I think with all the shypox that might be to hard to set up this time around.
I am experimenting with all weapons on character since I cant use shields this time through. I find Serena with a spear great with the passive 5% Parry chance although Whips still feel weak overall not sure if I will have Sylvando do them or not.
Thanks luck is for sure needed!

I beat this boss with poison from Erik, then the attack that does massive damage to enemies with poison.

    • @exodusshooter
      @exodusshooter  5 лет назад +1

Yeah, I guess that's the best way to do it, back when I did it I expected poison damage to actually scale with level so I never even tried to get anything else than swords before mid-game. Poison damage over time deals insane amount of damage early on though from what I've heard.

yeah, used the same thing in DQ8 on a lvl 1 hero party to beat the early Cannibox boss

god this boss wiped the floor with me ( i was lvl 14) but doing the stronger monsters option...
he is one of the toughest bosses i ever fought in my life with that stupid rng on debuffs and stuff.
btw the move that makes him dazzled is a lifesaver here. . ur not using it

Of course overly-powerfull spells like Confusion, Blindness, Sleep , Blunt... Will make short work of anyone affected by it. That includes bosses.
I did not need it so I shall not use it.
If I can keep my party alive using only heals, even if I can crush the boss using a different method I shall only use heals.
If I need to add defense like my Guards and Parry I will use them.
If it isn't enough and I need to add buffs then I will.
      And so on.
Hard CCs like that are on the very bottom of this list.
I haven't used hard CCs before Tentacular and only used extensively sleep/confuse on a single boss after him (in post game that I will upload later).
I haven't even skilled any point in my skill tree before I reached Galopolis.
I have never used weapons from the Casino.
I haven't used a single seed, even looted one, even the ones from my pre-purchase, and I am level 99 post-game killing all the bosses there with base stats. And still all 6 Draconian quests of course.
I never use anything I do not need. That is how I always proceed. Even if it means taking an harder path. That's how you learn to overcome challenges.
The only boss I would consider hard in the entire game so far is Mordegon in his first form (because second form sucks), with all the 6 quests at least. This one or Dora aren't in the list.

I did a draconian run, and it seems you can dazzle this boss
