5. Conditions of Service (CAG (Duties, Powers and Conditions of service) Act 1971) - 05:38
6. Functions of CAG- 06:10
7. Types of audit performed by CAG- 12:40
8. Compliance audit- 14:04
9. Financial audit- 14:48
10. Performance audit-
11. Efficiency audit- 15:25
12. Propriety audit- 16:36
Other important aspects of CAG, such as the list of CAG of India, comptroller and auditor general of India 2021, first Comptroller and Auditor General of India, duties of Comptroller and Auditor General, and tenure of Comptroller and Auditor General of India are also discussed in the session.
Some important Prelims questions are also discussed and explained during the session.
The Comptroller and Auditor General is appointed by the President of India.
The Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG) helps the Finance Commission in acquiring an informed opinion on the State Government's finances.
He acts as a guide, friend and philosopher of the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament.
The CAG submits three audit reports to the President:
- audit report on appropriation accounts
- audit report on finance accounts
- audit report on public undertakings
The different types of the audit performed by the CAG are - Compliance Audit, Financial Audit, Efficiency Audit, Performance Audit and Propriety Audit.
