He has the best stats because his knowledge of the game and how he uses stats, skill, weapons. The best part of this story is literally the fact how ANYONE can be broken if they understand their player character and the fact that Hardcore Leveling Warrior is/was the player at the top of the Leader Board for a while with his unique class shows how much he knows about the game.

edit: actually just been looking through the wiki and on Ethans own page they state "Due to his personal attribute, Hardcore Leveling Warrior has the unique characteristic of having his stats and level reset when he dies." and even under the personal attribute part of his page they state that its part of his personal attribute "absolute luck" so i might just be very wrong here. and then on the page dedicated to the personal attribute itself they state "Despite the great benefits of his personal trait, Hardcore Leveling Warrior stats and Level get reset no matter how he dies due to being a gambler." this is very confusing. anyway in my mind it makes more sense for that ability to be part of the gambler class itself and not ethans personal attribute since it would be a sensible tradeoff for being able to permanently take other peoples stats. losing his stats upon dying isnt mentioned once with the only other gambler taht we ever encounter during the series (hungry ghost) so yea its very unclear.

Great review, always cool to see some HCLW love. Not sure if you knew: there's the obvious sequel series that's been on Webtoon HCLW Earth Game, but there's also a PREQUEL series called X and Ash. You can see some of the history of some of the legendary gear from Lucid Adventure.
Ah HCLW... This is one of the only few series where I accepted plot armor and "luck" so easily as it felt so natural. I guess Overgeared might almost be there but not as much as this. Been a while since I've last read it though and I paused reading at S2 bc it was just starting when I binged this. I've been seeing the new season being recommended just these past few weeks and was interested in rereading from scratch again.
I hate to be that guy but not everybody’s stats reset upon death. Hardcore Leveling Warrior only does so due to either his Personal Attribute/Gambler Class. Aside from that great video and HCLW really needs more love and attention.
That was a light spoiler so I didn’t wanna include that part from my experience people hate even the tiniest hint of a spoiler I only covered like the first 100 chapters
Another thing that makes me respect the creators is how they managed to make a sequel that's actually as good if not better than the original. When I saw the release of earth game I literally scremed and giggled the entire thime and I was on a good mood for an entire week

HCLW was definitely one of my faves of the Korean sphere of that genre. Actually became most partial to Manhua Solo Leveling, HCLW, Tower of God , and The Gamer. are my favorites in the Manhwa Genre. Marital Peak and Apotheosis(both Chinese Manhua) are by far my favorite from the mangasphere probobly gonna need to reread some HCLW.
Its not necessary related to this but I recommend you check out a manhua called “Hersey: demons and strangers” it’s one of the most underrated manhua I’ve seen and it’s basically the Chinese cultivation version of Vinland saga and JJK combined Regardless tho amazing video, your editing clearly has way more effort and skill that most RUclipsrs with millions more subscribers

She joins a rebellion group to light a spark of revolution. It’s a veryyyyyyyyy good read and completed.
HCLW was good, got bad, and now has a sequel.. been reading since chapter 1 only had fan translations back in (iirc) summer of 2016.. literally went through all of uni, my masters, and now my adult life with this series

honestly, even though the writing was sloppy at time, and the system's consistency wasn't always there, hclw have such a cool atmosphere that it's not difficult to overlook the shortcomings, even more so with the cool story, it's a breath of fresh air compared to the slew of power fantasy with barely any story

Hclw one of my favorite manwha the ending was bittersweet but at least everyone was happy and looking at all the characters growth and struggles
