  • And so, apparently we are not creeps. We're just shy to talk about love. Let's go make those meringues for Ao-chan. Someone please help Koko-chan though, her Hp is now Z-E-R-O.
    Also, Shining Wizard will return in the future. Stay tuned for his ....meringue?

    Ngl but the best part of radios like this is when you just hear the staff dying out of laughter in the background. Its especially better when they laugh multiple times, loud, and laugh for a while.

    Small correction on the pure girl senryu (around 3:20) :
    It's not the girl who wants to be verbally abused and stepped on, but the sender that wants to be verbally abused and stepped on *by a pure girl*.
    That's how it feels like at least.

    • @koemonogatarisubs
      @koemonogatarisubs  5 лет назад +16

      That's what I thought too, from the way it was worded. But the explanation from the listener afterwards about the girl who says something like this despite that not being her character, convinced me that it was actually meant to be worded like this "ピュアな子に(言われた) rather than に alone. The following conversation made more sense when it's worded out like that, so I changed that.

    • @bentaro9743
      @bentaro9743 5 лет назад +8

      @@koemonogatarisubs In this case the op is correct tho. When they talk about girls who seem like they wouldn't say "such things", "such things" refer to abusive comments, not wanting to be abused.

    I dunno how I stumbled onto this, but these are really funny and enjoyable, and they help with practicing listening to Japanese.
    I can make out some common words and phrases here and there, but I'm still learning to comprehend what's spoken, let alone trying to write it and speak it myself, but I think this is a nice way to practice and it's really fun! Also, I'm really shy as well, so I try to work around having to talk to people, but I don't think I'd go that far. Maybe I should try making a meringue as well? Would that teach me to be less shy by just pushing through the difficulty?
    A-ny-way, I had lots of good laughs from this one, and can't wait to start listening to more.

      I fully realise that this is about 9 months late, however I wanted to welcome you to the community. I've learned almost all the Japanese I know by watching subtitled things and comparing the subtitles to the spoken word and am approaching fluency, so I am proof enough that this is a viable method. Be that as it may, supplementary resources grant an immense bonus to efficiency so I shall leave a few that have been useful to me over the years here.
      It's dangerous to go alone, take this:
      WaniKani is a site for learning kanji, it utilises mnemonics and repetition to drill each character into your brain. you can try the first three levels for free: www.wanikani.com/
      Use Kanjitomo if you just want to read something without knowing the characters or opening up a dictionary every 3 characters. As long as you have it open it will attempt to read anything your mouse touches as kanji and will give you the readings and english translation: www.kanjitomo.net/
      Tofugu has articles geared towards Japanese learners that discuss everything from grammar to travel opportunities. The best article there, in my humble opinion, is about learning hiragana: www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-hiragana/
      Stay curious and don't be afraid to ask questions.

      @@LostInTheClouds I want to learn Japanese too. There are way too many resources and I'm getting confused because of this.
      How should I start?

    • @saceurai6629

      @@aperture0 I definitely recommend a method called "shadowing".
      I've never seen this one getting recommended on the internet for Japanese learners, so might as well share it.
      I'm a university student, studying in Foreign Language Research Department: Japanese section, and this method is used in our simultaneous interpretation class.
      So you basically hear a clip, and try to say it right as you hear it. It doesn't have to be right at first.
      First focus on your timing.
      Second focus on your short term memorizing, as new words will flow out while you're hearing and saying the word, so your brain sometimes won't register the new word being said, so try to catch as many words as you can while saying the word being said. (you don't have to know the word, just imitate)
      Next focus on the intonations. Japanese relies heavily on intonations as some sentences end in an abrupt way, where it's grammatically wrong, but it's used by every one. So to differentiate statement, questions, warning etc, Japanese language needs intonations the most. So try to mimic the way the person speaking shifts their tone upwards or downwards etc.
      Then by the time you can perform "shadowing" with around half a second delay (it's required for us to hit that 0.5 seconds delay maximum get a grade for this class ;-; thank god it can be in any other language) you'll probably have learned some grammars and words (considering you've been actually studying other stuffs than shadowing too) to actually start to understand words being said, or complete a sentence by yourself and speak to a person.
      Now combine all those grammars and vocabularies with shadowing, and boom you can speak. Your speech will be just flowing without you even consciously thinking about what next word to say or what grammar should be used. It also makes your pronunciation perfect BTW. (not 100% tho. Not all languages have language system that fully develops the muscle of your face, tongue, throat and vocal chords to make it be usable for other languages instantly)
      The key to learning language is to trick your brain into make it think in the language you're learning.
      So you won't lose time by translating the language in your native language, understands the message, thinks about the answer, translate it back and say.
      Key to trick your brain into this is shadowing and always try to think in the language you're learning. Especially the trivial thoughts like "Guess I'll go home now" or "Should I drink a water or soda?" etc. It doesn't have to be correct, both grammatically. Just think. You'll just need some words to visualize it into your mind so yeah. Much better than stuttering when you're actually talking :)
      GL on the study :)

    • @saceurai6629
      @saceurai6629 4 года назад +1

      @@aperture0 As for studying material, I've personally learned from and teached using the book called "Minna no Nihongo" (a book every Japanese learner knows). But the thing is, it won't prepare you for daily life speaking. But it will hone your grammar knowledge a lot. I recommend the grammar book with exercise book and also the teacher's manual.
      It's on Google as a PDF, you can find it with some Google searching.
      As for vocabulary, I assume you watch a lot of anime, so you'll be much quicker to memorize words. Or you've already have but just doesn't know the meaning to put it in use. Since we hear it all the time when watching anime, the words are being stored into our brain unconsciously, almost like becoming an instinct-like thing, a dam that is just waiting to be broken down by the translations of those stored words. So yeah, GL :)
      I've watched anime for 3 years before actually learning it, and 6 months after I started, I already was speaking with Japanese tourists, telling them the way, or show around if I was free etc. So yeah :) You'll be much quicker than normal students, since your legs are already knee deep in it. Keep on going brudah :3
