But earlier this year, I went to my PS3, dusted it off, and reset all my data, and sat down to play it with my 6 year old cousins. @@grey8478 definitely were the best 3. for many reasons this one stands out, for example the way its orchestrated, and the way they timed certain segments to match parts in the final boss.
A battle between a super hedgehog and a god of pure darkness. A battle between good and bad. Life or death situation. This theme gives u that feeling, that all life depends on you. A perfect final boss with a perfect final theme.
Bro endless possibilities playing after Chip faded away made me burst into tears, this game is a part of my childhood on the PS2, i walked with the PS2, so i could Boost in max speed with the Xbox And after beating the game, i was like. "What now...?" And the end literally bursted me into tears, even the piano part in the credits. This game holds a special place in my heart on the PS2 as a kid, and still does to this day with the Xbox as a teen. I felt like a hero hearing that theme and successfully destroying Dark Gaia and saved billions from dying, this game has endless possibilities of being the greatest of the Sonic franchise, and even if Sonic Team has been crashing a little, i believe they can stay strong and outdo themselves once again in Frontiers or another boost game
One day my master said, humans only ask questions that they already have the answer. Basically, u're crying because it's a *MASTERPIECE* . The answer was in your question, *literally* .
I know right, this was the last all around good Sonic game. Colors and Generations was lacking in story, Lost World is just it's own thing, Mania just needed more original levels and to not be tied to Forces in terms of story, and Forces is just bad.
@@TJZ243 Sonic Generations was great. the story may not be good, but it had great and fun gameplay, nearly perfect level design and perfect soundtrack.
I love how the gameplay fits with the music at the beginning of the battle. If you boost continuously it all lines up, epic start to the music, then softer at 0:28 when you realise you've got to get through a huge shield, then epic again at 0:37 when Chip comes in with "My turn Sonic!" and just brute forces his way through the shield like an absolute legend. I'm 99% certain they crafted the gameplay to line up with the music and it works so so well!
This final boss might have been pretty meh... but *HOLY SHIT, THE SOUNDTRACK*. This song blew my mind when I played this game for the first time. It embued me with so much energy and hope. To this day, I think it's one of the single best final boss themes in any videogame.
Really? I haven't seen it, actually. I'll go check it out. EDIT: I dunno, personally I don't see it. In every version aside from the Xbox the entire boss doesn't seem to have as much to it, but that's just my opinion. I think we can all agree phase 1 is awful though on any edition :D
Half of the Xbox boss is pressing X 60 times. Wii/ps2 has the problem of really confusing mechanic (as it is a spherical area, not random rings). In conclusion, not the best final boss, but most sonic games dont have a good one.
Nothing can touch this theme It's too Epic Orchestral music is the best Colors is a close 2nd the fight was piss easy we don't get to hear most of the theme
Ah, Sonic Unleashed... The first Sonic of my life... The first game that took me on a massive adventure without even knowing it... 10 year old me would probably wonder if this game was still hated Massive suprise to him that Sonic Fans now realize how important and awesome it was to the franchise
This game was my first exposure to 3D Sonic, and HOLY CRAP… This game rocks! Amazing day stages and while repetitive, I found the night stages satisfying to just beat the heck out of Dark Gaia minions to cheer me up on a bad day and a jamming soundtrack and brilliant story, that’s what makes this game, Sonic Unleashed, my favourite 3D Sonic game ever!
Favorite part of this rendition of the song has to be the mixing when the "chorus" hits. The big orchestra hits followed by everything going quiet (save for the break drums in the back) so the trumpets can take over for the "I see it" makes it feel so much more powerful when everything kicks back in for the "and now it's all within my reach" portion. It sells that emotion of triumphant breakthrough: You're super now, more powerful and faster than you have been before, and even though the situation is at it's most dire, you can tear down that shield and finish off the evil. You see it, and now it's all within your reach.
Can we just talk for a minute how well this song embodies the whole boss fight? I really love the high and low pitched trumpets at 1:34 going back and forth just like how Super Sonic and Light Gaia are uniting their strength against Dark Gaia... man this is just hype as hell
1:05 I absolutely love this part simply because it uses a rift from Night Boss Theme. Really just putting in there that Dark Gaia is indeed pure negative energy.
We will never get another Sonic game like Unleashed man. Frontiers comes at a close third but never will we see a story as grand as this game. The stage design as fun and challenging as this. The gimmick be as ambitious and honestly fun as the Warehog. Music as gorgeous as this one. And a final boss that was so satisfying to best.
(As a guy who has currently played pretty much every Sonic game who is currently on Unleashed)The Spectacle makes this one of the best Super Sonic fights i have ever played.
Seriously. This song, and this entire game in general, is the absolute epitome of perfection! This IS the greatest video game I have ever played in my life! I will never stop defending this game, and no other game I have played can surpass this one!! Absolute PERFECTION!!
I kinda miss when sonic would have a final boss being a supernatural entity, or Supreme being of some sort, such as Solaris, dark gaia, alfa layla wa layla, perfect chaos, the dark queen, and time eater. Not to mention the transformations he would get in each game.
for me they're more bittersweet than simply uplifting. idk if I'm too emotional of a person but: knowing the game is ending, knowing a tragedy is often accompanied by the ending, the credits are about to roll, etc. always makes me get literal watery eyes
This is my favorite Sonic game so far but a lot of people seem to hate it, that kinda makes me sad because this game did nothing wrong. Even now, after a lot of years and so much replays, this final boss keeps giving me shivers from how good it is. Chip, Gaia and the werehog are things I'd like to see again in the future.
Best. Sonic. Final Boss. Theme. EVER (outside of Frontiers). The hype levels of this track has no bounds, I can't get over how epic is! If only the HD version of the boss lived up to the hype.

Why they not take sonic unleashed for the Soundtrack of the movie

A battle between a super hedgehog and a god of pure darkness. A battle between good and bad. Life or death situation. This theme gives u that feeling, that all life depends on you. A perfect final boss with a perfect final theme.
I wouldn't say Dark Gaia is evil, just doing what nature forces him to do!
Jesus why did I almost cry at this masterpiece l will never know.
Nostalgia maybe?
Bro endless possibilities playing after Chip faded away made me burst into tears, this game is a part of my childhood on the PS2, i walked with the PS2, so i could Boost in max speed with the Xbox
And after beating the game, i was like.
This. Sonic games like this need to come back
I know right, this was the last all around good Sonic game.
Heck yea that absolutely works
And its first time super sonic can actually get hurt then just get bounced back.
3:05 my absolute favorite part
My Favorite is 1:33 - 1:52
(0:29) & (3:06) Easily both my favorites.

Truly.
This final boss might have been pretty meh... but *HOLY SHIT, THE SOUNDTRACK*.
This song blew my mind when I played this game for the first time. It embued me with so much energy and hope.
To this day, I think it's one of the single best final boss themes in any videogame.
What did you play it on?
The Xbox version has the better final boss, dunno why it wasn't the same on all consoles.
Nova the Cyber-Dragon First time through I played the PS2. To be honest I still kinda think it's the better boss for a bunch of reasons
PS3 was the better one for this game his boss :P
Best final boss theme EVER!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Justin Seang Nah Sonic Colors
Solaris would like a word with you two..
Nah o6 and colours
Nothing can touch this theme It's too Epic
Orchestral music is the best
Colors is a close 2nd the fight was piss easy we don't get to hear most of the theme
Justin Seang Nah, What I'm made of, Solaris phase 2, or Nega wisp armor phase 2.

almost burst into tears realizing I’ll never be a kid again trying to beat this boss and hearing this banger
Ah, Sonic Unleashed... The first Sonic of my life... The first game that took me on a massive adventure without even knowing it...
10 year old me would probably wonder if this game was still hated
Massive suprise to him that Sonic Fans now realize how important and awesome it was to the franchise
0:57 I SEE IT, I SEE IT, IS ALL WITHIN MY REACH ENDLESS POSSIBILTIES
Truly the best sonic theme
@PossiblyAJ fr.
Sonic Unleashed was Peak sonic
Jason had truly become sonic, Sonic felt like he had matured with us.
Fkn love these games man.
Im running trough this world and never looking back
-sonic unleashed
Can we just talk for a minute how well this song embodies the whole boss fight? I really love the high and low pitched trumpets at 1:34 going back and forth just like how Super Sonic and Light Gaia are uniting their strength against Dark Gaia... man this is just hype as hell
This is the best final boss music I have heard from a Sonic Game.
Imo solaris phase 2 is better but this is still good
The memories of fighting Dark Gaia for the first time. I love this game!
1:05 I absolutely love this part simply because it uses a rift from Night Boss Theme.
Really just putting in there that Dark Gaia is indeed pure negative energy.

Sonic Unleashed it's probably the best modern sonic game today alongside Frontiers, good to see that sega is finally making good sonic games again.
lmao they made generations ultimate
We will never get another Sonic game like Unleashed man. Frontiers comes at a close third but never will we see a story as grand as this game. The stage design as fun and challenging as this. The gimmick be as ambitious and honestly fun as the Warehog. Music as gorgeous as this one. And a final boss that was so satisfying to best.

(As a guy who has currently played pretty much every Sonic game who is currently on Unleashed)The Spectacle makes this one of the best Super Sonic fights i have ever played.
Opinion on frontiers?
I love how there's essentially a trilogy of epic orchestrated final boss versions of vocal Sonic buttrock songs.
Here’s to a new kick ass era of Sonic.
Not just in games, but just Sonic media as a whole!
Seriously. This song, and this entire game in general, is the absolute epitome of perfection! This IS the greatest video game I have ever played in my life! I will never stop defending this game, and no other game I have played can surpass this one!! Absolute PERFECTION!!
I listened to Endless Possibilities way before I played the game, this ost made me cry-
Sonic unleashed still reigns supreme in my heart since 2007
When your up against the school bully you’ve hated since September on the last day of school and you have your friends cheering you on

same too. I can feel the power too.
I like the sound of that. 😉😉😉

Me too
I feel the power, too, but in a different way.
I kinda miss when sonic would have a final boss being a supernatural entity, or Supreme being of some sort, such as Solaris, dark gaia, alfa layla wa layla, perfect chaos, the dark queen, and time eater. Not to mention the transformations he would get in each game.
Ikr I hope sega always makes cool final bosses hopefully they’ll make more creative games with more creative bosses
Sega got so scared by criticism and fans to the point where they didn't have the guts to make a story like this again.
@@Ajay-dy3xw *Laughs in Sonic Frontiers*
The way most final bosses in Sonic all have uplifting music instead of intimidating music is just genius imo
for me they're more bittersweet than simply uplifting.
idk if I'm too emotional of a person but: knowing the game is ending, knowing a tragedy is often accompanied by the ending, the credits are about to roll, etc. always makes me get literal watery eyes
Just the occasional glitch was my gripe but overall this game is my favorite Sonic game
The werehog killed the game for many. Understandably.

Everytime I hear this it brings a tear to my eye.
I still remember the day I beat Sonic Unleashed after 4 months of pain.
When I heard this theme I got so hype.
Still to this day my favorite sonic game
It's sad to say that we're probably never gonna get a new Sonic game as truly groundbreaking as Unleashed.
It literally broke no ground. it wasn't original besides eggman winning at the start lol
sonic frontiers?

Unleashed did a lot hell it's still the ground work sonic games follow including frontiers.
Sonic Unleashed HAS to be my 2nd favorite Sonic game. I enjoy the day stages, but damn the combat in the night stages! Unleashed is a balance of both speed and strength, that's why I enjoy it so much! It's beaten by Adventure 2

3:05 I always imagine that one cutscene where Chip told Sonic he was light gaia. It truly represents the way how this game explains friendship better than any other game instead of being cringy.
the actual boss is alright, but the scope...OH DEAR GOD IT'S SO EPIC

The first video game I ever beat... I was so emotional during the end because of it. This game is a masterpiece.
Sonic Unleashed is the first Sonic game I've ever played and is my favorite to this day. I don't care what ANYONE says, this is the best Sonic game, hands down.
Also, who else is mad that Sega had Sonic wear Chip's collar at the end of the game, but hasn't brought it back since?
i remember finishing the game at 1 am with this epic music
I think that final boss with this soundtrack was a congratulacions of sonic for You My Friend ;)
I did that on the PS2 back then, now I redid it on 360 then the Wii.
Its 2025 and im listening to this, such a banger, started tearing up, unleashed was such a beautiful game, i finished it twice. I used to go home and open unleashed first thing
The ending of Unleashed is potentially the most epic ending of the franchise even if the way to beat the boss is not the best...
I always found it a shame when there are new gameplays in a final boss because you don't have time to enjoy it and it's generally simple...
