The original dapple is really good in rainmaker and very useful in other mode too. I main dapple and reach S+50 with the original one

Something I wanna clear up about Dapples Nouveau: they aren't bad, but rather outclassed. I'd say that Dapples Nouveau are actually a lot better than many other weapons in this game--they're just memed about because Dark Tetras are simply just better enough that the community ignores the new dapples. Admittedly, the fate of being mid and outclassed is worse than being bad but unique; that's their primary problem.

I liked this kit solely for the fact that torpedo pokes oppressively
I wonder if the best way to make the most of this weapon in comparison to the tetras is to take as much advantage out of the power of torpedo as much as possible. I do really wish it had a special to help it stand out like Ink Jet, but what can you do.
If the torpedo partial could combo with reefslider partial, it would be so much better...
@@Chase247 True, just imagine a world where Reefslider does 70 damage with the indirect hit and has very little or even zero endlag, so you could run up to someone, get the 70 damage, and then immediately follow up with a rolled Torpedo.
That combo would at least give this weapon a niche.
Torpedo spam at long range is a good idea. There is no other way to deal with backlines and anchors
I'm still probably stubbornly sticking with the vanilla Dapples for the TEAM TURBOFEED potential, but I'm for happy people who wanted a more aggressive sub/special got their wish!
TURBOFEED IS SO FUCKING FUN WHEN U CAN GET IT GOING it’s just insanely hard to get enough shit done with just the main weapon to do that lmao
recently I’ve been thinking what a double cooler comp with vdapples could do to make it easier to start a turbo feed, would be intetesting

Ive had so many situations were i try and use reefslider for a kill and miss simply because its so easy to dodge and has so much start and end lag. I still think splashdown is better and should have been buffed or reworked rather than removed. I went back and played s2 with the clear daps and never once wished it was reefslider. As for the tetra comparison, i never liked them due to the slower ttk, but dapples seem more like a side grade to the tetras in my opinion
This is the most normal dapple dualies gameplay I've seen in forever with people doing extreme flicks to hit people
That and twisting and flashing the camera at every direction of the universe at 70 mph

Awesome video, Chase! Napples were my second favorite Dualies in Splatoon 2 after Spaba (aka Vanilla Splat Dualies).
Now I rather play the VDapples over Napples. Even if Napples is an upgrade compared to Dapples.
If Napples got Trizooka, Zipcaster, or Inkjet I would still like using them.
Heck if they gave it Rain (aka Ink Storm) back or gave it TripStrike; it probably be my third main with my first and second mains being Spaba and the .52 Gallon Deco.
But instead it got Reefslider. I still like using them, just not AS much as it's S2 kit. I do like it getting Torpedo.
Tbh I still like normal Daps more. Using beacon to block shorts and being supportive agressively is just so intriguing. I mean yeah probably was better with the more aggressive kit but the kit feels way too much like tetras
I do love the aggressive support hybrid that the daps bring out still very unique to them and the best weapon that has beacon because Tent is a brella ....
I just picked up the the dapples nouveau and I find their style of aggression very satisfying.
Dapple dualies noveau are very good in Clam Blitz and in Rainmaker but , for Rainmaker I still use the normal Dapple Dualies

personally i still think the vanilla Dapples are better than the nouveau due to how powerful of a combo Beacons and Tacticooler can be, especially with sub power up, however the Nouveaus are pretty fun, Reef is situational, Torpedo is decent enough, i do think the hybrid support/slayer is a bit better than the full slayer kit. really just comes down to preference, both are fun
I honestly feel like Dapples are better with reefslider than Tetras. Sure, they both function the same, but Tetras already have a way in (by wildly dashing around your opponent, even more so than usual two-dash dualies) and Torpedo is just a better sub in most cases. The only downside is the range, and with Dapples mobility and poking tools that's hardly worth complaining about with this kit.

I wanna see a third dapples kit with either zooka or booyah, I feel like both would benefit the weapon greatly.

When I fight these things I have to remember I can bob them at the end of their special often with one shot because of the weapons I use. Doesn’t matter if I do it or not though. I’ll still get spawn camped and lose every game like always. But it’s seriously a dangerous weapon. If you can manage to combo with torpedo and reefslider it’s deadly. I hope you have a good time with salmon run this weekend. Get that new boat badge and junk.

I've been having fun with the weapon tbh! I know I'm not that smart with the pvp of Splatoon but I like the playstyle and the quick dodge rolls.

Also sharking is a good strategy sometimes but don't do it often since it's like a 3v4 when you're sharking

Yo chase, since u are apparently the only well known comp player in the scene that agrees dapples are underrated, do you think they are currently worth playing in mid level comp, and will they ever in the future? Not talking vdapples, but specifically nouveau. As someone who’s mained the weapon since 2017,I think there’s so much optimization and potential in the nouveau kit simply because torp and slider have amazing synergy with it, despite slider being bad. It’s also definitely map dependent, as it sucks on most of the notorious s3 maps with long open areas, while it does rather well on s2 and s1 maps with verticality like flounder, mako, and manta.

Tbh I think these dapples might be better than the tetras tho I only played em on flounder (which is an actual map. They need to make some more dynamic stages, the ones they have are stale af) so far
Something I noticed about reefslider is its very situational. If you use it correctly it's good. If you use it incorrectly it's bad.
I know that's they don't want the splatter shot or really any of the blasters weapons to be overpowered. But why do most of the good blasters like splatters shot pro and dules have crab tank when there are so many other specials for them
Competitive players actually agree that crab is one of the best specials right now, it's part of the reason splash is considered op. Pro is also a somewhat low tier. It's not terrible, but other weapons like squeezer are better
I would like to see splash neo get the zipcaster like splash had in that really old trailer though

dapple nouveaus arent bad on their own, theyre just outclassed by dark tetras. the two compete for the same niche- torpedo vs autobomb is the main difference between them
The Dapple Dualies Nouveau is like the Dapple dualies but it comes with a good kit Its got the blue Nouveau brand But it comes with the torpedoes as a bad set plus a reefslider I wouldn't say it's that bad but When splashdown came back to splatoon 3 reefslider could not actually explode bombs for a reason So I would not use this If I were you I would say the Dapple dualies Nouveau is a better kit in splatoon 2 then this

It's still the fastest dualie and doesn't have Enormous End lag 2 things Tetras don't have
Tetras have four rolls, longer ranged rolls, more range, and can shoot while rolling, they have exceptional mobility to serve as a we weapon whereas napples have the worst special in the game with a good poking sub

Reef is very underrated and Nintendo is actually being smart here by not Over buffing / over nerfing all we need as a playerbase is time to learn

Vanilla Dapples are better, Dapples are a pretty good beacon weapon and a solid Tacticooler weapon
I dislike how some people treat something that is competent and effective but doesnt have a meta niche when trying to optioize team compasistion as f tier. Its just seems frustrating and a often misleading.
Just bc it can be effective and competent in soloq doesn’t mean it’s not incredibly outclassed and not a good weapon while v dapples can serve a solid support niche in rainmaker
