Omg same thing happened to me! I was talking to a guy back in 2013 and I liked him. He led me on and strung me along for 5 months telling me how much he really liked me but that I needed better than him and that he's been hurt too much before and is scared blah blah and he would ignore me long periods of time then randomly reach out to me leading me on again then once I responded back he'd ghost me again and leave my shit on "read". I finally told myself "fuck it! He doesn't want me? Someone else will." I never reached out to him again. I was so over it. I started dating again. I met another guy on vacation about a month and a half later. We had an instant connection! My feelings for him were much stronger than what I ever felt for the other guy. We became a couple and about a month later into my relationship the jerk comes back trying to string me along again telling me he missed me and couldn't stop thinking of me and wanted to see me. I politely rejected him and told him that was over and I met someone else. He tried maybe 4 more times to come back throughout the next 5 years and apologize for how he treated me and realized he messed up and that I was the one who got away and wanted to see if we could try again. I still told him no and that he needed to move on. Plus I'm still with the same guy that I originally moved on to. He didn't see my worth when he could of had it so someone else did.
