Grade 1 is considered Commercially Pure - it is the softest titanium. It goes from grades 1-9 (Grade 11 is available but not typically used commercially) the higher you go the stronger but more brittle. So for a watch or something similar grade 3-5 is ideal as it is light and stronger than steel (typically) but not so dense or brittle that it could crack if hit or sustains a hard blow from something. Grade 5 is the MOST commercially available grade of titanium has the best combination of toughness and strength to weight ratio.
What a pity this watch is made in Grade 1 Titanium! Otherwise a really interesting watch because is the only Tuna/Tuna Hommage in this material and moreover this is a 44mm case, a "Baby Tuna". But the material for me is a deal breaker.
A great video as always. Heimdallr are a great company. Fantastic dial on my red Monster and incredibly good lume. My only issue is the titanium. It is very light and looks good but I wouldn't bring it diving. I have 2 titanium Seiko divers and even with the diashield hardened coating on them, both are scratched to bits on sand particles, pebbles and coral and they look very bad though I still use them diving only. If you get one, don't dive with it, keep it away from rough surfaces, treat it well. Scratches look awful on titanium compared to what you might get on brushed stainless steel. I would definitely buy the grey one if it's released with stainless steel! It's a beauty.
Yeh i agree with that. Titanium scratches are different and as its softer it will scratch easier specially when using it like a tool watch. Thank you for watching!
I'll thank you ahead of time I'm glad after seeing this release that I haven't pulled the trigger on any of the other brands offering this homage loving the hands and crystal on this alot more not to mention the price 👍
Im waiting for it 🔥. I just bought a cronos sub as a gift for my brother's birthday and i felt in love with the brand. I'll be getting the 2000m deep sea homage in the next sale
Great video as always - may I also mention that I just took possession of a PT5000 Steeldive Willard, and not only does it have a hi beat movement, but also a far less blue tinted sapphire crystal. You can only see the blue tint at the perimeter of the crystal, and even there it is subtle. I hope you might do a comparison video with the NH35 -
I just got one also. My only complaint are the sharp edges right above where the band rests. Like the AR coating, but I wish the dial was less textured.
Great review as usual. These looks really great, especially with that nice texture. Heimdallr makes great watches and rarely seem to have any qc issues. I just realised this would be a great 50th birthday presentfor my brother in late February. He has like gorilla wrists (as opposite to me lol), and prefer titanium since hes allergic to certain metals. Hence this size and material would be perfect.
I really don't need another watch. That's crazy talk! If you can count how many watches you have, you don't have enough!!! Bought the Orange. Happy holidays.
The material makes the sound the retaining wire is what does make the bezel stiff. Or it is a bone dry O ring underneath bezel if it has one instead of polygonal retaining/tension wire. A bit of silicone spray in the gap would help if it has O ring. Mine titanium watch has also that light-shallow sound but I do not care about sound but functionality and alignment. Nice looking watches. Wish they only made flush case back it would make watch a bit thinner.
Very nice, really like the grey and orange, just something really fun about it. The blue is nice too. Pricing is pretty good as well, was expecting it to be a little more to be honest. Nice work with the review
Damn, I really must stop watching your reviews! Just when I had bought a few watches on the 11.11 and Black Friday sales, here you are tempting me back to the waters again with your great review on these sharkey watches. I'm running out of excuses for the ball and chain :(
I keep coming here for several time. great and comprehensive video. Was planning to get the black San Martin Tuna. but seeing the grey orange, I'm sold. Hope that there will be a good discounts during CNY. I missed the black friday sale. I might replace the band with either grey or black leather straps. Cheers from Indonesia!
From the video it appears as though the dial is textured plastic(?) in appearance, with the shark logo and text simply molded into the dial and then simply painted black....is that what it looks like in person? Great job with the review!
Great reveiw as always mate. Im sure you mentioned that 1 of these brands should do a dawn grey/special edition homage in a past vid, seems like they were listening eh lol
I like this brand, the branding is very good and the quality seems good too. Imo Chinese brands can make amazing watches but I like them more when they put their unique spin, you know, their spice or anything to make them different somehow. Great review man, Stay safe
Great review I really like the Gray. I have a question about the handset I just received the steel dive 1970 Willard and the handset is very small. Could anybody tell me if the handset on these tunas are the same size or are they bigger than the Willard thanks sorry have terrible eyesight and I pretty much have to put my glasses on for the SD.
Thanks for your great work, I like your reviews! The grey one looks very good. But the minute hand seems a little bit short for my taste. Is it only me?
Great review. I had decided against this watch based on the what I now realise is terrible photography on their Aliexpress listing. The orange one is a stunner, maybe you should sent them a few photos for their listing ;)
I wanted to address my earlier comment I was speaking to the Thorn Doxa homage in your link That said I am a huge Heimdallr fan Thanks to you epic review as always my friend 👍
Amazing pair. Love titanium, won't mind a Tuna like this. Plus it's very light, not bad at all. Tough to decide which one though... Thanks for the review mate, be well. PS Sorry for the tad aggressive comment on the last vid, i deleted right away when you replied. You just touched a rather sensitive string of mine, that's all. Cheers mate.
Dont worry Stravos, i didn't find it aggressive. I did go back and read up some history though so it was good education. P.s you won't fine me the touchy sensitive type 🤝🏼🤜🏽
That gray dial looks amazing, very different texture than most other brands. Just as I had been looking for a good titanium diver. What material is the bezel?
I thought those would be smaller, the Seiko street series tunas are 43mm at the base of the shroud and 41mm at the top. At 47 and 44mm, this version is a full size tuna. This is my main issue with homage watches, they still dont have much options at smaller sizes

@@heisenberg470Heimdallr specifies the titanium to be grade 3 on their site but this something very hard to verify of course.
Thanks for the review. The grey/orange version looks stunning, and IMO it matches with the titanium case really well.

Good review. I like the grey but I need to stop buying as you convinced me to pull the trigger on Seig Flamma GMT and there are bills to pay 😂
Damn! Another watch i have to buy now. Just when i thpugjt it was safe. Grey /orange is irresistible. Here I go again.
Wow wow wow, Seiko are dropping the ball

Great review I have a San Martin blue SS Tuna and after 12 hours on the wrist you feel it. Orange one on the list for Santa👍
Great reveiw as always mate. Im sure you mentioned that 1 of these brands should do a dawn grey/special edition homage in a past vid, seems like they were listening eh lol
The Grey & Orange looks bad ass! Great video 👍

Nice review it just convinced me to order one in silver with black strap 🤩
Cannot best that price for titanium! Those are some sweet looking watches!

I think the length is ok but i do prefer longer seconds hands. You're right it is down to taste
Great review. I had decided against this watch based on the what I now realise is terrible photography on their Aliexpress listing. The orange one is a stunner, maybe you should sent them a few photos for their listing ;)
Yeh thats always a problem, sometimes the pics dont do watches justice and sometimes pictures make them look better than they are!
I wanted to address my earlier comment I was speaking to the Thorn Doxa homage in your link That said I am a huge Heimdallr fan Thanks to you epic review as always my friend 👍
Oh ok was it regarding the thorn, fair enough. This heimdallr did take me by suprise tbh, really nice watch!
Payed 149USD for mine just this week. Looking forward
Ordered my first heimdallr orange tuna. How do you pair this burst orange with clothes though. Very excited
Dark blue / white / black / grey
Really like these, the date window fits well with the dial too at the 6 oclock. Imagine its super light on wrist.
Yeh very light and like u said, i prefer the 6 date wheel
Amazing pair. Love titanium, won't mind a Tuna like this. Plus it's very light, not bad at all. Tough to decide which one though...

Суперские, ещё бы титановый браслет.
Great watch.
That gray dial looks amazing, very different texture than most other brands. Just as I had been looking for a good titanium diver. What material is the bezel?
Titanium
@@TheWatcherReviews interesting, how do you think printed or painted titanium will cope with everyday use? Lots of scratches or just like aluminum?
The bezel insert is aluminium
Zee, dial looks like battleship painted steel!
Unfortunately titanium scratches very easily. Thought anyone considering the watch should know.

So they say 44mm on their website but it’s the same size as any other tuna homage? 47mm?
Did you measure?
Yes
@@TheWatcherReviews is there a homage for the baby tuna? and does this one fit well for 6.7 inch wrists?
140USA 3/20/24
How many cm is your wrist?,thx
Tinned shark oj mmm ti tasty
