      The history between them is just as crazy & widespread in Chicago. My grandfather & his 8 brothers & sisters emigrated to Chicago from Ireland in the early 1920s. There must’ve been some kind of program because a lot of the Irish men became police officers there. Anyways, the Chicago Outfit recruited the Irish police officers’ kids to be their rum runners & eventually recruited the Irish cops themselves which then gave them a complete lock on bootlegging. Why they decided to work for the Italians & not the Irish American gangs I don’t know but that’s the story that was passed down to my dad & to me.

    Aye, even from way over here in Scotland, this is a treat, and Mike's integrity, and obvious _volte face_ in life, is clear... and Chaz is an utter legend. Dare I say a _wee_ bit underrated as a talent? Certainly not by us 'in the know...' , but I just feel he's a tad under-appreciated... Either way, a lot of wisdom here from both, and inspiration too I hope. A pleasure to subscribe chaps...👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    The person that hurt the mob the most might be Joe Bonnano I believe. His book gave Rudy Gulianni almost all the ammunition he needed to prosecute a RICO case against the five families at once. He litteraly gave all the succession of bosses from the beginning of the commission right to the late 60s, all Rudy had to do from this point on was figure out the rest of that succession

And the fbi was very upset that she mentioned his name because they knew what would happen to him and she seemed to know but did not care. She had the nerve to be on the series and showed no remorse I think her name was diane G. That was the only thing that bothered me.

      @roymunson1 Год назад +6

      Exactly, John picked his life, good or bad but stuck true to his oath on his honour.
      Sammy knew what was coming. Make no mistake, Phil Leonetti flipping was the catalyst in Sammys move. Sammy was for a long time the direct point man between the Gambinos and philly. Leonetti was gonna bring down Sammy first ahead of John as he/scarfo dealt directly through Sammy until John pulled the plug on Sammy as he felt they were getting a bit too pally for his comfort.
      Sammy knew the good times were up and rolled rather than do his time. A true stone cold narcissistic sociopath who only cares about himself.

    Haven't watched it yet but I'm going to. And Gotti didn't bring down the mob! Lol Michael is never gonna let that one go 😅 When you're against an organization that can make their own rules (government) you will always lose.

    How did Gotti bring down the Mob when just today the Feds indicted around 10 Gambino members and they have been indicting members of the Mob since Gotti went to prison? I have always agreed with Michael on this. Gotti DIDN’T bring down the Mob. He did make it easier for the Feds to find out about members when he ordered everyone to meet at the Ravenite every Wednesday night. The Feds had no idea about a lot of the guys who were coming in on Wednesdays. They didn’t know that they were even in the Gambino family. John did put a lot of guys on front street which a lot of guys especially the old timers didn’t like.

      It's true they didn't even really know much about Sammy until the forced Ravanite courts. Still though RICO brought the mob down along with a smart attorney who knew how to use Bananos book to utilize the act properly.
