    The good thing about tight quarters is you don't have to worry about where to put up the Christmas tree.
    My house is 546 sq.ft., so my tree is 2 feet tall, flat on the back, and hangs on the wall where my two cats won't interfere with it. Once Christmas is officially over on the 12th day of, my birthday, too, I take it down and put it in it's box, fully decorated, to sit until the next time.
    That dinner looked very Christmassy, and even though presentation wasn't the best, taste is what really counts. Christmas is really about spending time with those you love and over indulging. :)
    Cheers.

    Ahhh! Guy's Bless you both! Good example of how unexpected panic can interrupt a good day....n the aftermath is heartfelt n a bit of a pain t deal with for all. However....100 out of 10....for sheer grit , determination n perseverance (read - strength of character!) For turning the day around back on track! The cocktails certainly seemed t help n the real feast you manifested followed by your cleaned plates n mellowed selves said it all! Didnt matter how you got there...your own perfect christmas! ❤

    Christmas is massively overhyped to get us spending a fortune on tat nobody wants or needs & feeling guilty because we're not enjoying ourselves being with people we don't really want to be with! The older you get the dafter the whole thing is & your lovely dinner which worked out so well after all your worrying was a huge & tasty success.
    Happy Christmas with Dan's Mum next week, not everyone even does Christmas so enjoy it your own way & have a glass of something nice together while you're working Christmas Day if it's not all gone before then 😂.

      I hear you Jimmy, it ain't much fun. Pop on some Nigella Lawson or something for ludicrously comforting nonsense and then lose yourself in debates over whether she actually eats her own food, does the washing up and if she knows a single one of those so called guests in her house. Works for me.

      @@comealongdear if you ever have an issue with things check the fuses everything that's electric will have a fuse and there rated with a number which you will find on the fuse itself... As for heating a diesel heater are really good to have if you struggle to heat the van I love mine and I'm in a caravan really makes a difference but maybe take the van in and get a good service on the van from a caravan or motorhome place habitation service they will check the full van over like leaks heating hot water electric test gas check and if anything pops up they will tell you what needs to be done that's the best thing you can do for a van of that age a good engine service with all filters changed and fined out if the engine is belt or timing chain driven if it's chain you don't need to worry about it much but if it's a belt timing on the engine that has to be changed either mileage or years whatever comes first it's not a cheap thing to do but if it snaps then engine is unfixable and it's a new engine you may know this but if not then just some useful information for you that's all and break fuild had to be changed every 5years too just some advice more then anything as I don't know what you know or how much you know and how much service history you have with the van or what's been do to it before you guys bought it

    Dan so sorry that you suffered a panic attack while visiting the Christmas market.. I sympathise, I suffer too as probably many others do, stay strong it’s hard and some days are harder than others. Vlogging helps me too! Keep doing what you do, you are doing amazing and also with the exercises that will help your mood. I’m currently on crutches due to a fall and can’t get out it’s awful but bonus is I don’t have to cook Christmas dinner lol 😂 The Christmas dinner you cooked in the van looked lovely, you did well with the space you have. And sorry to hear you get them too, yes we're definitely not alone, it just feels that way when it's happening. As you say, some days are worse than others. Some days you can eventually push through it, but it mentally takes a chunk out of you each time, I think I've aged about 5 times faster than average 😂

      @@comealongdear I just found your channel and have been catching up with all your videos. All very real and raw - which I like it and reminded of my years in the UK and how my buddies would talk and chat about topics/issues. I think a lot of people can relate to forms of that anxiety - and am grateful that you are courageous enough to speak about it. For balance, maybe also include short clips what you can say what you also grateful for. Helps to see other side of the coin.

      Talking about the anxiety definitely helps, it can be therapeutic.
      And I hear you on mentioning what we're grateful for...a bit of balance is needed sometimes! We were thinking of doing an all out positive video soon, but I think that might just finish Stephen off 😂

    • @gl8282
      @gl8282 10 месяцев назад

      @@comealongdear hahaha yes I was in UK during my uni days and felt those were liberating years for my formation. I also stayed with a British family who brought me round Cornwall and one of the places that we visited was Tintagel. I remembered that we were somewhat at the entrance to the ruins and behind in the background were thunder and lightning, almost like the Tudor ages - we turned around and went back to the car. Being Malaysian, we had very little exposure to King Arthur, and his stories, Gwen and knights etc … and when we had them, it came from a cartoon and the characters were just sooo magical. Yes, my feedback on your videos is maybe 2-3 minutes of something positive in your lives (apart from being with each other). It’s essential to recognize this because it helps with anxieties and value of ourselves. We do need to remind ourselves that - and that’s why I could understand why you guys are doing van life and still yielding from it. Putting it on video not only positive affirms this blessing but it also helps people to recognize/relate and may even putting your viewers to a path of healing. Something I picked up during Covid, and why the Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. Small step but it goes a long long way. Stevie is awesome, I get him and he doesn’t need to conform hahaha - just be himself. I hope I have done enough to help you grow your channel. Enjoying others too - for real!

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  10 месяцев назад +1

      That's wonderful that you got to stay here and experience the UK, especially Cornwall and the Arthur legends! We absolutely love it there. To learn and see the differences in culture, geography etc, is fascinating and something we always appreciate when we are lucky enough to visit other countries.
      You're right, talking more positively has a far-reaching effect, on ourselves but also on others. We will try to display more of it, because believe us, we are very very grateful for what we are doing and appreciate all the positives van life brings. But we are mindful to show the other sides too and to be true to ourselves, so not "hiding" any negatives either.
      I do partly think it's a British humour type of thing, too - it is sort of in our nature to be a bit moany but turn it into a jokey kind of thing (although many times it is genuine moaning of course 😂). Some interesting points you make though and we'll try to take them on board 😍
