I went to see Kiss in 1996 in Cincinnati and was happy for the chance to see the original band reformed if nothing else just for nostalgia and the spectacle . But I was surprised that they were such a tight rock band . It was clear to me that they were veterans and they knew what they were doing. I've seen a lot of good live bands , Black Sabbath , Van Halen, Judas Priest ACDC , Soundgarden ,Pearl Jam etc and Kiss were as good as any of them . The theatrics were great and cool to watch but the band could play their instruments and had a chemistry and that was important to me .
I can barely express how the things Paul and Gene have done since those reunion tours have damaged my sentiments toward the band. If I feel this bad, I can only imagine how Ace and Pete must feel, paychecks aside.
I'm not saying that Peter and Ace didn't do their fair share of exacerbating a tense situation, but the very idea of those two guys having to sign and agree with employment contracts while fucksticks Paul and Gene rake in millions DEPENDENT UPON Peter and Ace being on the stage just makes me fucking sick.

Quit crying. They are still kicking ass, and Peter and Ace don't deserve to be in the band today. You can guarantee that the leads and drum parts are on point. I've seen them twice during this final tour. 100 times better than the shit-show in 2000.
Dude I don't give a FUCK how 75 year-old lip synching rock musicians "sound". And hot stock tip; no one fucking cared in 1977 either. Are you going to spend your money to see Gene and Paul's "Best KISS Tribute Band"-contest winner when they take over and start touring under the KISS name so that those two Geritol-huffing colostomy bags can continue to pound the last shards of cool that once defined them into dust mites?
And then Peter and Ace started tanking……again. Year 2000 was just like 1980 all over again.

Ace is still releasing original music with no clown show gimmicks and Peter retained his dignity, quit while he was ahead.
I first saw KISS on the Michael Douglas show as a kid. It blew me away and was a perk of the 70’s.
Thanks for putting this fascinating novel on the on line. Mr. Frehley's vocabulary is really cranking good.😂 One of the best nights of my life 💓 was at the KISS concert in the 70's at the West Palm Beach auditorium. The pyrotechnics scared me a bit and I loved it.❤❤

Some of these pictures are fantastic. I never realized they had the light up letters on the stage floor at times.
Yep! Cool, isn't it?!! Turns out they did that in the early days when the venue didn't have any way for them to hang their rigging from the ceiling.

@@paulknight5300 That is by default, though. While you know Paul is embellishing slightly enough to paint himself as he would like, he has less ego-blockade than Gene, the only other majorily sober one throughout these experiences.
Ace is right. A song like "Kissin' Time" demaged their image.

I miss the innocent time when the only thing u knew of ur heroes was through Cream., Hit Parader, etc. Before u knew how ur heroes acted or even sounded
FUN FACT: Back in times, overseas, we had no idea what their persona were really called, so we named them: Gene The Vampire, Ace The Spaceman, Paul The Sex Symbol, Peter The Cat.

Some people join bands and get into show biz solely because they want to be recognized and given attention. Fame is a drug. It has a different effect on different people.To some it would defeat the purpose of putting in all the work if nobody really knew who was doing it
Sass Jordan has a story about going to get beer with Eddie Van Halen in '85...The VH level of Fame sounds terrifying. Because while most people are level headed, in the presence of a truly special star, even level headed people lose their minds. Ace didnt have to worry about that so much
