Wow. This is sad for him, and his family and friends, too...in so many ways. He obviously, like the rest of us is disgusted by the acts of any mass shooter...so it's gotta be hard to know a friend of yours did one. This shooter must have either dived deeper into his mental illness rapidly or radicalized rapidly, or both (and don't forget actions of steroids on the adrenal glands hyping everything, including any even small violent tendencies or intensifying feelings of isolation; some people choose isolation as a safety field, but others feel angered by or not understanding their isolation (Adam Lanza); Though this guy had only really seen him a few years ago when other co-security guards liked the shooter well enough, there has since been a security guard who has spoken out about the shooter; he said he had to quit his job because he couldn't get a transfer away from the shooter whose hatred toward woman and blacks had been significant when he worked with him. But still ~ a few years is fast.

This guy makes me recall the doctor at the Boston hospital who purportedly treated Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Answers every question prefaced with "So..." I'm wondering if that's a technique used to better control the scripted/learned response delivery?

This is odd, the video says it's published June 12 , the Day of the shooting, they didn't say the name of the shooter that early on on any tv station. I think they finally released the name the next day? how would he have known this early on?
This video is authentic, the guy is not acting. The fact he is saying "uh" and "um" a lot is a sign he's not use to public speaking. I've taken a communications class and acting classes, I've had to practice speeches and try not to say "uh" or "um". The guy is obviously nervous talking and doesn't show much emotion because maybe that's how he talks when being asked questions on the spot. I think the guy is being real in his responses.

When told that the shooter was his friend, his first response was but doesn't he live in St. Louis? That would've have been my first response. Sounds like he wasn't too shocked.

This is the most intelligent discussion regarding Omar Mateen that I have found. His former friend speaks quite eloquently in regards to his history. While the act was horrific, we are given a closer insight into his previous upbringing. A well spoken explanation of the circumstances. I highly recommend this video clip.

The killer's friends and family members keep saying that they have no clues about his violence behaviors and they are surprised by his behaviors, but people don't just wake up one morning and become insanely violent out of the blue. There must have been clues along the way, but people close to him probably ignored them and were in denial. Just like people don't just wake up one morning and become a full blown alcoholic or a drug addict out of the blue. Usually there were clues along the way that they would slowly become an alcoholic or a drug addict. These kind of extreme behaviors usually build up slowly over time. You just don't become extremely violent overnight.

Can someone delete the words 'You know . . . ' from wherever/whatever dictionary it is in . . .125 times the usage of 'You know' was used. I only point this out because the use of those words and the number of times it was used was excessive. i think there was a lot more that he was not saying... it really didn't sit right with me either how "normal" he was trying to portray the realtionship. not to assume anything it could be that they may have had some sexual encounters as children. nothing of course to the extreme but maybe just incidents out of curiosity. especially finding out that the shooter was to homosexual. i just feel if it did happen, this guy wouldn't want to mention it. whether or not he was mutually interested in the encounters or not. once again though, im not assuming he is homosexual too, but that it could very well be a possibility. I am normally not a skeptical of situations like this but wouldn't you think they would have released the 911 call now that we know what his voice sounds like from the documentary he was featured clearly we would easily be able to pinpoint if it was him that made the 911 call. 911 calls which could easily be leaked and yet and still....nothing. That is truly suspicious to me.
A very intelligent & articulate young man who shares his childhood experiences with a young boy that grew into a much different human being than what he was at age ten or twelve years old. He has given a perspective as to how an obvious normal little boy can grow up & become the complete opposite as to how we would expect he to be as an adult. Somewhere between 12 years and adulthood this man lost a heathy mind changing his life, his families, friends and many more innocent lives forever. A mental health problem is something no one could have predicted, but because of it has brought unmeasurable pain to a uncountable number of innocent victims of a senseless act of violence. It could be hard to prove there is any more to this event other than a senseless act of an insane young man. May all involved be given peace & a means to find future contentment beyond this present sadness.

Was that the same Omar my colleague told me about at KSU p y in Riyadh in 2012? The same one who sat in on one of my English classes? He had somebody with him him. He said he hated homosexual people. There was some talk about locating a place where they meet and gather and shooting them dead. There must have been eight or 10 people present during this conversation. I doubt anybody thought he would actually do it. I was born and raised in Stuart Florida. Omar mateen lived in Stuart Florida for a long time before moving to Port St Lucie and fort Pierce Florida. He might possibly have been present at a place in Stuart where are some freaky guy named Zach had mentioned pulse. The freako Zack was also working with the sheriff's trying to bring absolutely 100% false charges against someone. This Zack freako said something about pulse in Orlando. At the time nobody knew what the hell he was talking about. I was there. A woman asked me if I knew anything about pulse pulse. I thought she meant like a pulse in the wrist or in the neck. Well Zach can always go back to Orlando and hang out with his buddies there, if there are any who are still alive.
