    One helpful tool that I have to have when detailing i a small foldable aluminum 2 step step stool or step ladder to be able to get clear to the center o of the roof or windshield on s full-size pickup truck or airplane. It can also be used as s stool to set on when workimg on the bottom half of the vehicle. Inexpensive and handy..

    I think my most useful tool that was not mentioned is the detailing brushes or compressed air for the interior. My 2 best larger purchases would have to be my iBrid nano because I use it on everything from paint to carpet and everything in between and my Mytee 8070 heated extractor because living in Ottawa Ontario we see way too much salt that takes its toll and is a MASSIVE pain to remove and it really does an amazing job and gets so much stuff out that it amazes me some times

      Thank you! For a lift, buy a high quality one for sure. We have tried some inexpensive models in the past, but they weren't very sturdy. For a scissor lift, we are fans of the Nussbaum brand. I hope this helps.

    Is your two part water filtration system made up of one cation and one anion resin tank? Based on your incoming TDS, about how long does each tank last before you need a resin change? Do any other prefilters make up your filter system?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  4 года назад

      Yes it is. We monitor the water quite frequently, but based off of the hardness of our water, how often we use it, etc, we're changing our media about once per quarter. That's the only filtration we use.

      Just hold a clean microfiber put the machine on it and run it on your towel. It can make do with out compressed air. I wouldnt trust the blowers as they dont have the force.

    • @Esotericdetail

      If I didn't have compressed air, I would use a stiff brush to clean them out. That's what we do when we're working at somebody else's facility without air. Also, we are not blowing out foam pads...only microfiber pads. The foam pads we swap out every few panels.

    Personally, I think grit guards aren't necessary, and here's why. Anything with enough density to fall to the bottom of the bucket is going to stay there. Any particle that isn't dense enough to sink will be suspended in the water. Also, if you are using two buckets, then most of your dirt, especially the heavier stuff, will be in the rinse bucket, not your soapy wash bucket. One might argue that your sponge or mitt will sink to the bottom and pick up grit. If your sponge/mitt sinks, then that is true, but I have never had one that was dense enough to sink, they are always floating near the top. I guess for what they cost it's a minor cash outlay, but again, I don't see the need.

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  4 года назад +4

      I see your point, however you should be using the Grit Guard to agitate the wash media for releasing any dirt. We use them in both the wash and rinse buckets, and agitate the mitt / sponge in both of them.
