    Cool trick! A squirt of methanol can help too - dilutes water, drains out more liquid, remaining liquid evaporates faster because of lower BP. It's only useful to reduce residue left by evaporation if that's important. In Colorado the humidity is so low that people wake up with raisins in their eye sockets

    Any spectrophotemeters you’d recommend for a home lab?

      Anything that you can find cheap. Maybe look for used ones? Just make sure you have compatible cuvettes (e.g. you can't use glass or normal plastic for UV)
