To explain the title "one hundred thousand flowers", the flower "Karthigaipoo" or Gloriosa Lily (Botanical name - Liliaceae Glory lily or Gloriosa superba) is the Tamil Eelam's national flower because it has all the same colours (Eeelam is the Tamil word for the island Srilanka). The Srilankan civil war was devastating on all sides but resulted in the Srilankan government committing genocide on a hundred thousand (possibly more) Tamil people in response to the Tamil Tigers, a war which has complicated beginnings dating back to when British colonialism left the country, the war lasted close to 3 decades only ending in 2009. The UN was too slow to react to this war because of the lies told about it from the Srilankan government like the apparent non-use of heavy weaponry, among many other reasons.

This song's title represents the one hundred thousand Tamil deaths, representing each as the national flower. In modern day, millions of Tamil people fled and live worldwide with a chip on their shoulders, not the violent oppressive kind but the kind of chip demanding excellence of ourselves with pride - the same pride that allowed the Tamil language to become the oldest surviving language of all time without contest.

If you react to (or watch in your own time) "Who Are The Tamil People" by Cogito on RUclips it's a condensed debrief of the great Tamil history leading to the civil war. It even speaks of the Jaffna Library - the main source storing Tamil history - burnt by an organized mob of Sinhalese individuals. I do not hold animosity for the Singhalese as a group, I understand wars are never sparked from birth right, only by individuals fighting which extrapolates - fuelled by lack of order. One thing is for sure though, it is true the Tamil History is fire proof.
