    Brut, I really think this is THE best you've ever put yourself to. Roller Mobster and Le Perv are waaaay up there, but I honestly don't know how you top this. Starts with an incredible back alley far east sounding melody, then goes into a electro hiphop style, then comes in a fucking lovely sax, and then just gets progressive as fuck and EXPLODES with a key change and it just lasts fooooorever, and you tie it back around to the original melody. Truly beautiful. Superb instrumentation (steel drums!). Superb pacing. Incredibly fun for listeners, musicians, and the whole family. Marry me.

    This is why Rockstar should make a 8th gen Vice City game that takes place back in the 80s

    • @lulubeloo
      @lulubeloo 9 лет назад +99

      +Yigi Liu I wouldn't mind a present day Vice City either. Maybe get to play as the son of Tommy Vercetti or maybe play a multi-role like in GTA V, where you can switch between a miami vice cop, the son of Tommy, or even old Tommy himself, always trying to keep his son out of doing stupid shit. The future of GTA has amazing potential.

    • @MaskOfLimbo
      @MaskOfLimbo 9 лет назад +30

      +lulubeloo I would like to play as a female character in a next Gta. I ex member of the russian mafia who is trying to rebuild her life from zero, but get into the life of crime against her will.
      But if the game becomes a multi-role, like you said, I would like if we play as the woman who is ex member of the russian mafia, a corrupt vice city cop and the the son of Tommy (this last two is because I love your idea).

    Complexity of sound types and structure in this track makes for engaging listening. It's never predictable, but it stays well-composed. When the second "section" of the song ended (for which I thought it was a bit too long at first,) it snapped me back out of my trance and made me think for a split-second and brought back the original melody. Very impressionable. Well done, CB.

    I knew about Carpenter Brut because of Hotline Miami, but I'm really glad CorridorDigital paid attention to your music as well! I like both Hotline Miami and CorridorDigital so it was really cool hearing Brut's music in one of their videos

    Honestly, there is not a single piece of music that has been performed by Carpenter Brut that I can say I even vaguely dislike. That's exactly the reason I'm coming to see you live when you play at KOKO in London next March. I'll be there brother, you have my word. 🤘

      Bluestriped I feel like it should have been put in the movie Drive. Something with a Getaway in the 80s! Although that movie has some of the same vibes, especially the intro of the movie.

    Imagine a team of 5 people working on a geometry dash level to fit this song. Where every transition and phase of the song is covered by constantly changing obsticles With retro graphic art in the background during the hook and transitioning into a chaotic bath of color and bombast as the song progresses, before settling into a completely Teraformed version of the intro whenever the song loops back around to the intro melody. I think it would be legandary.
    Great work Carpenter Brut, this song is an emotion greater than joy.

    This track destroys everything else simply in its ferocity. Lovely buildup, got a little bit to relax to, then comes the absolute murder. Even if I know what's coming, I'm in a relaxed mood,, I'm not even into the music, but when it comes....my heart is racing, my mind is on fire, I want everything around me to know that shit. is. goin. DOWN. Never have I heard such a transition to insanity in the most brutal of (whateverthefuck)step or blackenedthrashdeath metal and kept my shit together. Years later, my heart still gets racing. Gotta have at least one track with this kinda whiplash per album, man. Thank you so much.
