I have seen a post in reddit, where there was a comparison between Sachin playing the great bowlers of that era and Virat playing the great bowlers of the present era. In that stats it was clearly showing that Sachin's average dropped drastically when he played against the bowlers you mentioned, whereas Virat when played against the modern era great bowlers his average is actually better than his overall average. So your claim of Sachin played tougher bowlers is invalid, because through those stats clearly anyone can say that Virat would have played those bowlers better than Sachin.
