    what is the most important thing to learn after stance? I watched your stance video 5 times. do you have some kind of "list" for the correct order to learn things (or maybe MUST KNOW things and GOOD 2 KNOW THINGS and WHATEVER THINGS)?
    edit: thank you of course! I like all your videos!

      When I started RUclips, I showed what I wanted without any order, largely based on trying to “fix” bad wrestling techniques I was seeing.
      On my instructional, I sort of went in order from stance to through more advanced stuff in the way you should be taught in wrestling. Everything was shown as a system so you know how to link them together. I can’t make that kind of quality videos for RUclips. That required real professionals. Videographer, editors, etc

    Running never gets easier, you just get faster. It always fucking sucks.

    So if you lets say have 6 rounds after class, would you recommend maybe just doing 1 or 2 super hard one and keep the rest more lower paced? Maybe 1st: warmup, 2nd: competition round, 3 and 4 chill: 5 hard, 6 chill?

    • @josephbreza-grappling9459
      @josephbreza-grappling9459  3 месяца назад

      If you have a hard practice, why would you need 6 rounds afterwards? In the video, I was talking about a round being the length of a match in competition. Going one hard match, maybe two is enough. Like I said in the video, if you train a lot of rounds, you won’t train them hard enough.

      @@josephbreza-grappling9459 Assuming it's not a hard practice. I do BJJ, so the practice is just a normal warmup followed by drilling technique, and then rolling at the end. Not very intensive.

      Depends on how much rolling. Again, like I said in the video, you need to be in shape to go super hard for the length of the competition round. If all you do is flow roll like Brian Glick, then you aren’t in shape for competition. And how many hard rounds are you going to get in after practice before the coach kicks you out? If you can get 2 hard rounds in at the amount of time you would be doing in competition then you are good. Because most of the time, you get time between matches in competition to rest. So doing two back to back is going to mean that your second round is you dogging it to survive if you went hard the first round. And if you have 5 hard matches in competition that doesn’t mean that doing 5 hard matches several times a week is going to make 5 hard matches in competition any less hard.

      Wait, when you say “rolling at the end,” does this mean that you don’t have any structured sparring at your place? Like after technique you roll however you want? I can’t help you if I don’t understand the structure of your class and you aren’t giving me much help here LMFAO

      @@josephbreza-grappling9459 That's pretty much right. Sorry if it was not clear. Basically, after we are done with drilling the technique, we have an open mat. We do 5 min rounds with a one minute break, and just pare ourselves up. The rolling portion can go on for at least an hour, but people choose how much they roll or who with so it's not really structured.

    Competition always sucks, but it is also an addiction.
    Btw the 30 minute rule is not mandatory in jj competitions, this also sucks. Last time i competed they asked to play the final match 5 minutes after the semi finals, my coach had to argue with everyone so they give me 10 more minutes.

      Yeah that is some bullshit. Sounds shady to me…like trying to get an advantage. Unless your opponent was in the same situation, that is some bullshit

      @@josephbreza-grappling9459 Yooo broski, so I got a quick question. Are there any d1 wrestlers that shoot outside singles on both sides that I should watch? I know it might be a weird question but I've been trying to work my outside single shot with my right leg lead and I just want to see if there's anyone at the highest levels that shoot outside singles from both their left and right leg lead stances.
