I had lots of fun down there over the years with my friends and girlfriends lol and we moved out about 5 years ago we left it behind but I know I put thousands of hours on it and never had to change the bulb

Supposed to last 65,000 hours, I got maybe 3000.
Awesome. I remember doing this too back in the day. Had a whole movie theater in my bedroom. That was the theme. It was all centered around my projector that I found at a bargain. Made my entire bedroom look like an old 1920s movie palace, equipped with a mini popcorn machine, decorated the trim with literal 35mm film from my projectionist job at the time (the movie theater I worked at would throw out movie trailers and such in the trash), decorated with framed lightboxes and movie posters, walls were painted a maroon with gold accents, and I had full surround sound. I just did a similar setup for only $200 with holiday discounts! Got a 1080p Vankyo for $130 and added a 4k Fire Stick + 5th Gen Echo Dot for $60 to get a simple decent wireless speaker. Some minimal blur on the edges but 87" for under $200 is ridiculous lol.
Depending on how your room is setup, you can get like a 2 meter projector stand. Won't work if yours is like in the video. Another option is short-throw projector. Those are more expensive though.
Yeah that's a good idea actually, because especially if you already have them you don have to invest in a stereo system because the echo dots can just pair together
It's actually pretty good. You can fix in projector if needed just like a television. Echo dots sound so much better than projector sound. Also, end up using one echo dot because use other for another room. Still sounds great.
I'm in the process of deciding what projector to buy this has helped me see bolting huge TVs to my wall is to common and I like being different nice one 👍
I’ve been using the 270W so like idk years earlier model and I’ve been happy with it. I’m only now craving better picture quality and stronger projection because at night it’s awesome but during the day not so much lol once 4k one’s dip below $500 I’ll buy one. They’re close maybe even there on Black Friday sales or something.
How does the picture quality look after all this years with 4K and other streaming technology coming uo like Apple TV and Netflix, did you integrate with your setup?
It's a very good comfort to have a home theater, especially to an invite over. but a TV will use significantly less power, have local dimming for richer blacks and bigger isn't always better
Nice idea, but practically tv couldn't replace by projectors unless it has good visibility on daylight environment. And a simple 2.1 sound bar could be a good affordable addition which makes sound experience more comfortable.
Honestly, I think that’s a great investment and if you know how to do the work, it really isn’t that hard to patch those holes and I would still run some speakers at least on each side of the bed but that’s just me
Don’t worry about losing your security deposit, when you decide to move out and before the landlord inspects the unit, you can easily fix that wall by simply hiring someone to mud that portion and color match for less than $120.
120$ for 4 screws sized holes??? If you'd actually pay that I can repaint your entire room for 1000$. It would be ridiculous for a landlord to make a big deal over 4 tiny holes.
No, you’d need a speaker. I have mine on right now. If you have a ceiling fan on high it drowns the sound some. Plus the projector fan is pretty loud. I’m looking for a projector that’s either Bluetooth enabled or allows an ARC connection for like a sound bar. Good pic quality, but kinda quiet

No need at all to have a big budget. Projectors are improving every week and will replace tv’s for those paying attention.
For apartment complexes, just because you put a nail hole in the wall does not mean you do not get your security deposit back. Nail holes are expected. And if they try to not give you that money back" you can look it up". It goes for all states. No big holes, thumbtack is okay ,nail is holes is okay ,. As long as you're putting something on the wall that is expected and they cannot take your security deposit because of it. It's a law and if they do, go ahead and sue them.
I'm telling you it's a game changer... I wish I thought of the idea before buying my Samsung TV... the thing glitches out and I've only had it since fathers day...
@@1anre I did but it was a lower quality one. Still works and does the job quite well if the goal is to have a bigger screen. It's even got an inbuilt DVD player. Has decent sound so overall a good buy but if you're someone who is most likely to use that projector sometimes I recommend getting a cheaper one rather than a really expensive one.
it’s not gonna be closely satisfying to a TV. It’s a vonkyo projector for those who are wondering the brand name and it’s about $160. Now for $160 she is talking about great picture quality and sound on top of that she is projecting on the wall, if this projector is any good which I don’t believe it is at-least it needs a screen. And then need to be sourced from you computer or a laptop obviously. May be need a bluetooth speaker because I highly doubt the sound quality of the speaker. After all that it’s only capable of 1080p. Every-time you’re gonna turn this thing on, it has to be pitch dark. Basically don’t believe every shit they tell you on internet.
I disagree, I bought a budget projector and it's the best purchase I've ever made. It projects a massive image that's clear enough for movie use and far cheaper than a tv. Blackout curtains with a projector, a smart box and good speakers are still a fraction of the price of a massive tv, with little discernable difference at a decent viewing distance. This is the only time I'd say believe what you see on the internet!
I have a 1080p native projector I found for $60. dbpower rd828. the picture quality is comparable to early 2000s movie theater quality. and you get it at home. mines in my bedroom and it's awesome. painted the wall light silver for better image. it's like 100" TV for $100
those people dont care about quality, this is why cheap projector exist. 420 lumens said everything those people dont know about quality they probably never watch a 4k vid
Never let go your deposit over some tiny lil holes. Look up spackle fill. Find out exact paint color and fill and get a sample to paint a little tiny bit there when you move out Happy 🎄 Christmas 🎁
I love projectors more than tv's because you can get a bigger picture at a cheaper price. I bought a projector for $340 used, and it uses 5400 lumens. I can make the picture absolutely enormous, and image quality isn't affected. You can use it outside for a big movie night. I watch TV in the dark anyway, so why not just have a projector. I thought about asking a local church with a basketball gym if I could use the projector inside for a birthday party. It would be amazing and cost way less than taking the whole family to a public movie theater or just using the side of the house. I am never going back to a tv. If you're wondering what projector I have, here you go. It's a pt-ez580 PANASONIC. It's not bad for its age and does better than most projectors with less light today. You can make the image several feet wide and several feet tall, and it will give you a big image size close to a public movie theater. I tested it in the backyard, and this thing shines.
i have an awkward place for tv so now im looking at how i can transform my blinds to be a projector instead, rather than squeezing a tv between two windows! any tips appreciated :)
It's resolution, color, and contrast that you're sacrificing for the size. If that's what you want, more power to you, but it's not a straight upgrade from a TV.
Okay well, no the speakers in the projector are not okay or even fine. You do need to get at least a 2.0 setup (2 speakers in stereo). Some people said a 5.1 setup (5 speakers and 1 subwoofer), but I am not sure how you could connect and use that to a projector. And then the other thing, you won't easily be streaming surround sound from your MacBook.
Thankyou verymuch for this Vedio. If you want more picture Quality Please Buy 8x7 feet Refliction White Stiker stic it and See the Quality after you don't Feel.
Does it have sound output jacks to run surround sound? With that big of a picture, you will be amazed how better of an experience that is. I KNOW..did that and wow!

I literally just did the same thing ......small shelf and all. I would recommend a small speaker just for sound quality. Best money spent
That shelf is genius.. I just need a renter friendly version
Amazon has a couch and bed projector shelf
Depending on how your room is setup, you can get like a 2 meter projector stand. Won't work if yours is like in the video. Another option is short-throw projector. Those are more expensive though.
Hey those 3m shelf holder
Or you could just command strip it, worse case scenario it strips a little paint and you cover it up 😅
Are you like 12? Just patch it after, sand it and paint it😂??
I bought a projector for 50 bux and i must say it is one of the best investments I have made! We use it for games and movies and it is awesome 😎 👍
I just bought a projector for my bedroom. Also, use two echo dots which sounds great. 😊😊
Yeah that's a good idea actually, because especially if you already have them you don have to invest in a stereo system because the echo dots can just pair together
@@christiansmith2005the echo dots got super underpriced speakers, they prolly perform better than many more expensive ones
How is the quality and the spec of the projector for what room size?
It's actually pretty good. You can fix in projector if needed just like a television. Echo dots sound so much better than projector sound. Also, end up using one echo dot because use other for another room. Still sounds great.
@@lauraD-00 do these projectors have a space to insert the Firestick into them, and how well do they support gaming?

I'm in the process of deciding what projector to buy this has helped me see bolting huge TVs to my wall is to common and I like being different nice one 👍

Get a near field projector and it can sit on the desk right in front of the wall and throw a huge 4k picture, no shelf or holes to patch

Brought my first projector 10 yrs ago and never bought another tv...btw ur setup is perfect 🎉

Where do you buy the Shelf for the Projector?

Unless they have this vid of hers lol
120$ for 4 screws sized holes??? If you'd actually pay that I can repaint your entire room for 1000$.
It would be ridiculous for a landlord to make a big deal over 4 tiny holes.
Just... patch it yourself with a can and scraper you can get at walmart for like $20
Sounds like you’re trying to sell a service
No, you’d need a speaker. I have mine on right now. If you have a ceiling fan on high it drowns the sound some. Plus the projector fan is pretty loud. I’m looking for a projector that’s either Bluetooth enabled or allows an ARC connection for like a sound bar. Good pic quality, but kinda quiet
The sound coming out of that little thing? Nope we all getting a sound system
I love projectors, I still have my Epson 2030, bought it in 2014.
That's because it's an Epson. Those are good projectors. These are crap.

That's EXACTLY how I have it in my home!
I have two projectors, one in my bedroom and the other in my living room.
I'll _never_ buy another flat screen tv. They're nothing but a rip-off, that only lasts about three years.
While it's true that the built-in speakers do work well, I still connected them to bluetooth speakers for a great surround sound.
My projectors came with a built-in DVD player, and I can connect my Roku stick, and even our game consoles.
We love it!
Do not buy a cheap projector.
I tried to give recommendations and reasons but my comment was automatically deleted.
Did you just tilt an off axis projector instead of setting it flush to the ceiling and turning it around ???? 🥶

Where can I buy that white wall?
For apartment complexes, just because you put a nail hole in the wall does not mean you do not get your security deposit back. Nail holes are expected. And if they try to not give you that money back" you can look it up". It goes for all states. No big holes, thumbtack is okay ,nail is holes is okay ,. As long as you're putting something on the wall that is expected and they cannot take your security deposit because of it. It's a law and if they do, go ahead and sue them.
I'm telling you it's a game changer... I wish I thought of the idea before buying my Samsung TV... the thing glitches out and I've only had it since fathers day...
So did you buy one?
🤓

Hi, it's very good,
how much Cost This,& link Buying Projector ,
I love projectors more than tv's because you can get a bigger picture at a cheaper price.
During the daylight when you need to watch news and another program on the screen, how do you fight thr light?
@@1anre I have the projector downstairs pointing towards the darkest wall in the house. I can have the room lights on without affecting quality.

Where did you order this one specifically?
People saying its the same price as a tv, whats the price of 200 inch smart tv ? The projector costs 300$
I have to connect it to a laptop with an HDMI, how can you connect with it up there?
I got one of those perfect picture I’ll tell you that much sound not so great but works well with a sound bar can blow up to 300 inches
