  • @JohnDoe-cd6ro
    @JohnDoe-cd6ro 7 месяцев назад +64

    Awesome. I remember doing this too back in the day. Had a whole movie theater in my bedroom. That was the theme. It was all centered around my projector that I found at a bargain. Made my entire bedroom look like an old 1920s movie palace, equipped with a mini popcorn machine, decorated the trim with literal 35mm film from my projectionist job at the time (the movie theater I worked at would throw out movie trailers and such in the trash), decorated with framed lightboxes and movie posters, walls were painted a maroon with gold accents, and I had full surround sound. God I miss that bedroom.

    • @galacticwarlock2271
      @galacticwarlock2271 7 месяцев назад +4

      Same here minus the popcorn stand... I had a nice projector got it on discount for like 40% off and it was at least 2500 lumen so it was like having a movie theater. I deco'd with parachute silks to keep light out and give a cloud like feel and had just my bed and a couch set up like a theatre. It was the best money I ever spent.
      I am a film major so for me that was absolute heaven. I would watch everything there sometimes I would spend a whole day there watching Samurai flicks and Felinni or Traffaut. Sin City, 400 Blows, Yojimbo also Halo 4v4 was awesome!
      I miss that era.

    • @JohnDoe-cd6ro

      @@galacticwarlock2271 DUDE.... I was a film major as well! Lol And Sin City was the first Blu-ray I ever got! 5 dollars at the bin at Walmart and it was the first movie I watched on the projector. I baptized that projector with Sin City. Lol I'll never forget the experience and panic attack I had watching Enter The Void in full HD right after I had just smoked. But man.... It was an experience in my room. Full surround sound, the screen covered the wall, and I'd just lie in bed watching movies and series. And when I got my PS4 when it came out, fuggetataboutit! I'd play Arkham and really feel like Batman observing Gotham below on this ginormous screen that covered the entire wall. And as you can imagine, being a film major and working as a projectionist, watching free movies all day and sometimes a week or 2 before release, it was heaven. I miss those days. If only it'd pay more, I'd never do anything for the rest of my life. Lol Good times.

    You can hook your phone up to it too (Some projectors with a cord and some with blutooth and I think wifi). You can put SD cards in it as well so whatever movies and pictures you want to view or watch from those you can watch right on your wall. (I've never tried with my phone or an SD card but it said it was an option on the box). Also, I have white walls and never had to buy the screen either and the picture quality is amazing ❤
    I've had mine for over 4 years and sometimes used it 24/7 for days on end. My kids have RUclips or whatever movies on in the day, I have my movies and shows on in the evening and at night I put blackscreen relaxing sleep videos on RUclips all night so if has been used steady and finally after this many years I think a bulb is out because there's one little area with a different color so I'm looking to get another one.

You need a high lumen (10,000) think spotlight on wall, and I got around daylight and interior lighting by using a special ambient reflecting screen, and yes car window tint 5% on my windows. The tint does a awesome job blocking the UV from coming in😊
    Little homework goes along way. Yes slight downsides. I've had a 65 inch led 4k tv and it burn out incredibly fast. I've had my cheapo projector playing ps5 games even and no issues. Its set at 102" Anyway enjoy your projectors!!

      120$ for 4 screws sized holes??? If you'd actually pay that I can repaint your entire room for 1000$.
      It would be ridiculous for a landlord to make a big deal over 4 tiny holes.

    That's EXACTLY how I have it in my home!
    I have two projectors, one in my bedroom and the other in my living room.
    I'll _never_ buy another flat screen tv. They're nothing but a rip-off, that only lasts about three years.
    While it's true that the built-in speakers do work well, I still connected them to bluetooth speakers for a great surround sound.

    For apartment complexes, just because you put a hole in the wall does not mean you do not get your security deposit back. Nail holes are expected. And if they try to not give you that money back you can look it up. It goes for all states. No holes, thumbtack, holes, whatever. As long as you're putting something on the wall that is expected and they cannot take your security deposit because of it. It's a law and if they do, go ahead and sue them.

      Get a 1/4 inch by 20 threads per inch screw & drill a hole through the bottom of your shelf & screw it into the projector's mounting hole or buy a gimbaled screw mount to more easily aim it.

      @@1anre I did but it was a lower quality one. Still works and does the job quite well if the goal is to have a bigger screen. It's even got an inbuilt DVD player. Has decent sound so overall a good buy but if you're someone who is most likely to use that projector sometimes I recommend getting a cheaper one rather than a really expensive one.

      It's resolution, color, and contrast that you're sacrificing for the size. If that's what you want, more power to you, but it's not a straight upgrade from a TV.

    God no 😂 I have one myself but like…so many bad things to say about this. 1.daylight 2.sound from a projector is dollar store quality. 3. The quality doesn’t even come close to a tv that would have costed you so much less. Only plus is portability for Netflix and chill nights 😅
