    The seeds are carminitive. Tastes a lot like cinnamon.

    For outer bark such as Magnolia, you could also use a vegetable peeler. Less chance of it flying off everywhere. 😊

    Thank you: I believe the popular indian incense Champa (misspell) is derived from magnolia = calming.

      Magnolia bark does have a calming effect and I imagine using it as incense would be lovely. I believe the plants used for nag champa incense are the sandalwood and frangipani, which also has a beautiful flower!
