As soon as I saw the inn I knew immediately where you are. There is a tire/shop/mechanic shop just across the street that I ran for Tires plus for 13 years. I have fished that lake 100’s of times in the afternoon before going home. I have caught snook, tarpon, jacks, bass, catfish and a bunch of smaller exotics.

@ayo9057 So I live central east coast near Sebastian inlet. So it's pretty "brackish" when you're up in the creeks like Turkey Creek, Crane Creek, Melbourne River, Sebastian River, ect. And I've caught largemouth on shrimp in brackish water, and been miles up creeks in to fresh water and seen Big tarpon. Lotta brackish fish can survive either. Bull sharks have swam over 100 miles up the Mississippi. Nature is crazy sometimes.
The X-Rap must be a favorite lure with worn hooks? Have you ever considered retiring a Lure? Any lure that was so darn lucky, you never want to lose it?
Man! I gotta tell you that you must have a sniffing nose for where there is fish, You are the most adventurest and determined fisherman on any RUclips channel, Unbelievable a Peacock Bass! I was surprised no snakehead, Hey Brant I saw an article about a snakehead that was caught up here in NY it looked legit, You find some of the best spots to go fishing in S Florida, It was Great watching this video!
I have driven past that lake countless times in the past 30+ years, before they developed the area and built the hotels ect. always wondered what was swimming around in there but never took the time to wet a line. Thanks for sharing.
Brant, spent the last 5 yrs as a traveling Supt. I used to purposely stay at places just like where your at so I could fish whenever I wanted. 😊worked out 50/50 fresh -vs- salt where I stayed, caught so many different species and many good times and better dinners!
Great video Brant how come nobody's done a catch and cook with the cichlids I would think they would be similar to a bluegill just kind of curious about that
Hey Brant, I know that you’re still down in Naples probably. there’s a lot of good spots that are holding big fish right now. Lotta tarpon around also. I’m local
Excellent place to stay for a few nights, especially for the people who love fishing. I think the big fish are a bit more wary, since they have been caught a few times by other anglers.
THAT'S what I call a vacation hotel brother~! I just moved from Virginia to Florida and Snook & a peacock bass is on my primary bucket list. And thru all my investigations, the prime places are leaning to the canals towards the Eastern part of the state. You caught one on each while I am sitting on my ass at the moment! I have been following you for sometime now but this my first post. I want to learn more from anglers like yourself & others and I am retired now. Anytime/anywhere I'll be honored to spend time fishing with You. I fished the Cape Hatteras Point and cruise the beach in my 4x4! Great Job
You lucky bastard lol I live in Virginia and my dream is to move to south Florida and fish. I live in emporia Virginia and the fishing sucks! To much fishing pressure and not enough water. Good luck with your new venture
I don’t know how I ended up finding your channel today but I am so glad I did! I’ve been wondering something that maybe you can help with. I visit the panhandle several times a year (Ft Pickens). I was wondering if there is a possible correlation between the many fishermen who fish from the beaches right next to swimmers may be contributing to the increase of sharks coming in so close to shore? It seems maybe if they had more designated areas to fish separate from swimmers it could lessen the number of sharks coming in so close to shore. I’m all for everyone’s rights to fish. This is really just a curious question.
I was attending training in Ft. Lauderdale in the West side. My hotel was on a canal/lake. Caught my first peacock bass there. Also had a guy saying at the same hotel drop me on the canal a few blocks West and caught peacocks there too. Great time
Bro, I know you like fishing florida waters. Navarre Pier had large schools of tarpon...50-60 easy!!!! Personally seen 4 individual hookups at the same time. Take Brad and Beach Bum with you...
OK, Ill bite. Let me see you catch a fish from your hotel room,, My grandaughter did it at her brohers wedding, 2 small Myan cichlids, Nice catch Sir, Thanks,
If only you knew where to find a tackle shop that sells new X Raps, and new hooks for your old lures 😂. Seriously in Costa Rica I trolled some X Raps and caught so many mackerel and small tuna and huge jacks that they had holes, the paint was gone and they still caught fish until I broke the hooks and eventually the attachments for the hooks got trashed and they were shot. X Raps can be deadly lures.
If you get the chance to fish and Newport Richey, please go by the rusty bucket bait and tackle shop awesome people right down the street from my dad‘s
when you said, "its O-fishale that cichlid like live shiners". Where you making a reference to the wonderful mister Marlin Baits (The unofficial coolest bait crafter on youtube)?
There has been flamingos living down in that area for the last couple years a larger batch moved in at the end of hurricane season this year that came up from Cancun with a hurricane

Those orange stripe fish remind me of rock bass in the midwest
They are called oscar chiclid
Great video, you did a good job. May God bless you and your family and friends. Keep up the good work. Thank you for what you do.
If that is Naples, there are huge tarpon and snook there.👍🎣👍
It's on the corner of Tamiami Trail and Bonita Beach Rd. I recognized the location immediately, have driven past there countless times.
Yes! I clicked on it immediately because I knew my Bonita springs when I see it
Are those Cichlids invasive, and are they good to eat?
@@theabsolutetruth2024yes invasive, and they make good bait! Never tried to eat one so don't know.
Brooo this is right by my house lmaooo

Cracked me up, fishing in the hotel lake. 😅
I’ve caught some big snook in there 20 years ago. 😂 let’s go fishing Brant! I’m a local guide.
Brant actin like he only got 1 xrap 😂
Fish from your hotel room. Reminds me of a song by Frank Zappa - "Mud Shark"
I think that song was about fish IN a motel room, and in other things 😂😂😂

Just wondering if there is a NO FISHING sign by the highway in that lake.
There’s big tarpon and snook in that lake. Bluegills are the way to go.
Hey, those pink birds are called roseate spoonbills. Very cool birds.

You need to do a video with Richard Gene the fishing machine in his waters, that would be big I feel
That would be a good pond to kayak fish if it was allowed.
Seeing how you caught a gar, maybe there are some real big ones in there?
My goal is to travel south and hook one of those beautiful peacock bass.
Great job love your videos
Welcome to Bonita Springs my friend!! Happy to see you in my neck of the woods. How long are you here for?
Great content again, let me know if you ever what to go fishing when your back in SWFL.
A lagoon-view Hampton? Nice.
😊great fun watching this. Where are you "up north?"
Time to open a motel with a big brackish lake with a mix of fish for the guests to catch?!
Alligator gar was my guess for a four footer
You need to go right down the road to master bait and tackle.
Lol@ the name of bait shop
Brad posted ‼️‼️‼️🔥
I am heading to Naples next week for a week, it will cool fishing
OK, Ill bite. Let me see you catch a fish from your hotel room,, My grandaughter did it at her brohers wedding, 2 small Myan cichlids, Nice catch Sir, Thanks,

There used to be a huge tarpon in there
Hey don't know how long your in this area but there's a bait and tackle shop west about a half mile from your hotel.
That’s where I got the shiners
Always an adventure
What with the kerchief?
That was fun to watch.........

Are cichlids good to eat? BIG FAN
Supposedly they are really good, Supposedly tastes like snapper
Big fish from the hotel room...😂
I was hoping for a cast from your window!
Guarantee what they saw were carp. I bet if you used some corn, you would've caught the giant they were talking about
Is the second location the Ding?

Are those Mayans good to eat?
Rosette Spoonbills were the flamingos.

What City is he fishing in?
You should’ve rigged up on of those Mayans that’s probably what they like eating out in that spot

Before I even get to the fishing I wanna guess grass carp but if your in florida who knows

They got snook and tarpon in there, everyone knows about it so they can’t get mad. Throw a big old live bait and just wait.
